  • In this video I am going to be comparing the Acro and the Rex's damage to see who is the better boss killer in a special episode of Creature Comparison within Ark: Survival Evolved.
    2023 Updates: The Acro could do more or less damage unmounted than seen from my testing, depending on how distracted it gets by the boss' minions. Depending on how lucky and how good at whistling you are, the Acro could be better or worse than the Rex at dealing damage in unmounted combat. The unmounted damage difference between the two creatures is pretty minimal, but there's other factors to take into account too. Such as the Acro being bigger, harder to tame and harder to control while unmounted, and the Rex not having as much health. But if you can't be bothered to tame both Acros and Rexes, an army of unmounted Acros with mate boost, good saddles and good stats should be very close in strength to an army of unmounted Rexes. Overall, I'd say it's a draw as to which creature is the Best Boss Killer. If you're running the ARK Additions: The Collection mod, you may as well create and fight with an army of Acros as it would spice things up compared to the usual Rex rushing in vanilla Ark.

    🦖🆚🦕 What is Creature Comparison? 🦖🆚🦕
    Creature Comparison is a series where I take two creatures and compare them with their level 1 base tamed stats. I usually, but not in this video, compare them through 12 tests and 3 battles which are organised into 6 different categories:
    Resistance, Attacks, Mobility, Utility, Perks and Battles.
    If you want to watch the video where I compared the Acro and the Rex through those 6 categories, scroll down to the '📺 MORE VIDEOS & PLAYLISTS 📺' section below.

    I do really appreciate the time and research you take into these tests. It's really inspiring.
    I was wondering if you would be willing to do some modded tests?
    My modding style is tending towards expanding/enhancing the vanilla experience instead of overwriting it, so if possible some of these similar tests could be done, it could help me aim towards a more balanced modding experience overall. I would greatly appreciate the help and feedback.

    Thanks for making the comparison, I was considering using acros over Rexs on the valguero bosses, since I went through the trouble of getting them in the first place, but I wanted to make sure they could handle themselves unmounted, over all the dps difference isnt too substantial for my taste, and hopefully Yuty buff and Breeding should hopefully give me a better edge, once again thanks

      Yeah the Acros should do well unmounted, just make sure to keep whistling on the bosses so they don’t get distracted by the minions due to their shoulder bash attack.

    Can you do a test with the Domination Rex (Indomminus Rex) from the same author?

    • @ZedFiles
      @ZedFiles  4 года назад +2

      I plan on comparing the Rex and the Domination Rex, and then the Domination Rex and the Acro.

    Can you consider other maps in these videos? A good example would be the Rex VS Acro video, the Rex is much more accessable on Extinction as it spawns in the sanctuary. I would recommend if the creature is exclusive to a certain map you only consider that map though and leave the other ones out(Like gryphons, and deinonychus), and also dont consider the community maps(Rag, the center and valguero included) as well excluding if its the deino or gryphon.

    This is like you are comparing
    Spino and mosa in water
    Rex is much better in boss fight
    Acro is much better for normal use

    • @ZedFiles

      I hope they add more underwater bosses to Ark (besides the Moeder from Genesis) so that Mosas can be used in PvE more often.

      @@ZedFiles yes another boss could be less thought than moeder for an easy water boss and another that is like the king titan from water spawning all types or water creatures like tusos mosas basilos dunkleos megalodons piranha and stuff like alpha king titan

    bit confused what you meant by it takes 3 times more damage than usual?

    • @ZedFiles
      @ZedFiles  4 года назад +2

      From my testing the Broodmother takes 3x more damage from all tamed creatures. So for example, a Rex would take 50 damage from a tamed Dilo, while the Broodmother would take 150 damage.

      Acro is the Acrocanthosaurus, it’s a modded creature from the Steam Workshop on PC.
