I love the writing of this particular piece, I love how the bass part matches with the upper battery and grooves so nice
Genius
Having play contra and tuba for many years I definitely love the bass but I don't think I could ever get the hang of playing a bass drum - well any percussion for that matter. I'm useless with my left hand. Lol. Great job guys. Good luck on another great season!
See these vids are great seeing the music and all but I can't hear the actual bases at all and it's really hard to get a feel for the music without hearing it
Kinda hard to learn the bass music when the snares are covering it up....
sam signorelli I know, right?!? If only they could have provided the sheet music onscreen as they play
I'm a brass guy...I can't read battery parts....hence why I'd like to be able to HEAR the bass parts in order to try to follow the music.
I can kinda do it with the snares....because I can hear them.
sam signorelli perhaps you aren't the target demographic
Try using headphones and earbuds... I can hear the bass line just fine.
Nope....still not much better...might be my own hearing.
Their mallet angles are really steep. By design, I assume, but seems kinda weird to me.
Levi Thurston Agreed!
you must not like Madison's basses then either...or Cavies...or Cadets.
MrBrwnchknbrwncow maybe it's just me, but it seems Crowns are quite a bit steeper than those others. And BTW, I love those lines. I wasn't complaining about the angles so much as I was looking for an answer as to why they were like that.
The technique we have here is a parallel forearm and a forty-five degree angle of the mallet to the center of the head
Alex Z. nothing abnormal about it. i think lots of folk have gotten used to the "west coast" style being adopted by most. i like the East coast style, easier to define and make look/ sound clean 👍🏾👍🏾
Damn Aaron
the lack of "head groove" from 1 and 5 annoys me....
I agree
MrBrwnchknbrwncow agreed as well
What's the letter notation (A, A+, B, etc.) above the staff?
captaindecoy variations of our ostinato
Alex Z. Wait so are you bass 4?
I was bass 5 for this past summer!
DCI:No one to know one.
Carolina Crown: NO one to kNOW one.
Dill Pickle the t in “to” is capitalized. “THe T iN tO is CaPItaliZed”
