Darren, thanks for adding a clear voice in the very clouded market of Resolve colour training. The only thing I didn't see in this video is that a person can hold down option/alt and scroll with the middle mouse to zoom in on any scope display (I say this not for you so much as other people who might read this). If you're looking for topics, I would love to know your strategies for shot matching over a project. Most RUclips tutorials show making one frame or clip look good, while the reality is that I tend to get projects where the DP doesn't know what a light meter is and so exposure is all over the place, and lighting consistency is basically non-existent - living in the trenches is a common reality. Cheers. PS: as another poster mentioned, thanks for resisting the urge to have background music.

I go back to video post production in the Analog tape days. When we lined up one inch tape machines to color bars and tone, using waveform and vector scope monitors and TBC's. (Time Base Corrector) This was very helpful in refreshing the concepts. 👍
If you use the colour space transform plugin - Darren has a great tutorial about CST btw - make sure you set the CST Tone Mapping Method to NONE. If you try and monitor lum levels using the Waveform with the Y Channel and Video Level Scopes selected, you will be UNABLE to view the sub white and sub black levels with a CST Tone Map applied - the whites and blacks will clip at the 64 and 940 reference levels with a CST Tone Map. I fucked around with this for hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong! :)
Hey, I'm experiencing the clipping at 64 & 940 when in video level scopes but I'm not using CST plugin, in fact I've even with no grading effects I still get the clipping. Do you know if video level scopes has changed to now clip at those values?
Easy to follow even for myself, one thing that i cant get to work is the highlights of when you use the qualifier on the image to highlight in the scoops, i'm using version 18 free. another great video as always. thanks again
This was very good and helpful, but I would have no idea what it all means. I do have a bg in film and have done color correction, but using other software. I'm going to check to see if you posted another video that explains what we're looking at.

This was very good and helpful, but I would have no idea what it all means. I do have a bg in film and have done color correction, but using other software. I'm going to check to see if you posted another video that explains what we're looking at.
