I think my biggest issue with the movie was all the normal people fighting the skeleton zombies and winning, at least to a degree. What kind of threat could they possible serve as if some random people with makeshift weapons could take them out?
THAT. They're suppose to be "the army from hell" and a bunch of people does the deal. Also, there's no real connection or rivalry between them. Why don't they fight Intergang and then, when the undead rise, they leave it to the JSA? In that way, the writers acomplished what they poorly tried to do.
Well it would be better if other rando's die and the one's we know are fated to survive do surprisingly well. Or if Intergang are instumental, or if they already rose up against them and had to surrender to Black Adam and their guns were laying around. Idk lots of other options.
Yeah they were the most useless henchmen in the series so far. It would have been better if the people just fought remaining Intergang thugs. I mean what even happened to them? They just disappeared after Adam blew up the mine. No way every last member was there.
The whole "heroes don't kill" thing would make a whole lot more sense if this wasn't supposed to be in the same universe as Snyder's warped versions of Superman and Batman. Also, why in the world are Superman and the Justice Society listening to Amanda "putting bombs in people's heads and very ok with letting an entire country full of people be murdered by an alien starfish" Waller??????
I like Dwayne, but as an actor he is super one dimensional. Always tough, always has jokes, always a hero type figure. Whatever brings in the pay checks I guess.
Look at Batista. No matter how much Dwayne acts his ass off, he will never win an Oscar. So why not be a bankable popcorn action star, which he does better than almost everyone else in Hollywood?
Fun fact, the Justice Society is the first ever superhero team, formed in the 1940s. It's older than the Justice League. They probably wanted to show the extended universe of the DCEU, like Hawkman and Dr. Fate are the OG members. Hawkman is a reincarnating warrior from 1000s of years ago and Dr. Fate is at least a 100 years old. Maxime Hall or Cyclone is the daughter of Justice Society hero Red Tornado and Atom Smasher Jr. is the nephew of Atom Smasher Sr. of the Justice Society.
The most glaring plot hole in the movie for me was why Hawkman, someone portrayed as so vehemently opposed to killing, would have anything whatsoever to do with Amanda Waller, a wpman who would happily kill her own grandmother if she thought it necessary for national security, and then brag about it to anyone with enough clearance.
3:50 No no, don't turn back now because that's true there should be more expected from the guy who's been trying to get this movie off the ground since the mid to last 2000s
9:47 One thing to remember about Amanda Waller is that she is almost the anti-Nick Fury, she acts as the living embodiment of the cold, unempathetic corruption of the US Government in the DC Universe, who can act as a literal wall of opposition against heroes and their morals/heroism. The Justice League and many other heroes severely hate her and hate being forced to ally themselves with her only in very specific moments of crisis. Superman is as much against her and her actions, though I imagine Superman only agreed to help her for the sake of reasoning with Black Adam, not because he works for her, which is most likely the same reason the JSA stepped in.
the writers and director for black adam aren't exactly known for anything more than having worked with dwayne johnson on past productions. and the quality (or lack thereof) shows. pierce brosnan was the most experienced person in the whole mess.
you can say the same thing for most of the cinematic Universe movies . its kind of thing everyone has to understand that making this all movies connected creates bigger and bigger plot holes in the individual movies Doctor strange 2 would have been 30 min movie , spiderman NWH shouldn't be a movie if we remove plot holes , kong vs godzilla same ( kong would have been dead in the first fight )
More reactionary Christian crap is creeping into theaters, a trend I expect to accelerate. This is just bad. It's not anything on par with you-can-guess.
The thing about Waller sending the Justice Society instead of the Justice League, I get the feeling that the Justice Society is a group she control while the Justice League is an occasional ally, as set up in 2016's Suicide Squad post-credit scene, but not a group she controls. She gave Superman a tip, and he decided to meet with Black Adam and get to know the threat, but Waller can't just send him in, she doesn't control him like that.

I was fine with that language wise but why does he instantly have an American accent when he was born and lived in Kahndaq and has awoken in Kahndaq by a woman who herself was born, raised and lives in Kahndaq with a "Kahndaq" accent... See, it's not a HUGE deal but it helps with immersion and suspension of disbelief when the actors go all-in. Imagine some new actor who is from that area of the world with an authentic accent to that area who has the hair and has no issues with getting beat up, being an actual anti-hero if not bad guy sometimes and so on. So it goes beyond Black Adam not speaking whatever native language Kahndaq uses for me. It just shows how little effort he put into his acting and how much his ego hurt the movie and character.

Really good reaction, really enjoyed it but one thing i have to throw in is where Achara mentioned that they send the JSA to deal with him was because the Justice League would have defeated Black Adam quickly. Yeah that would not happen. Black Adam is insanely powerfull and there have been instances in the comic where Black Adam wiped the floor with the Justice League. It's either in the Rocks contracts or all the Rocks movie scripts is that the Rock can not be taken down he either gives up on his terms or nothing that was the problem with the fast and furious movies he was not going to allow himself to be second to Vin diesel
While I get the complaint about the eternium not being paid off in this movie, if they waited til the sequel to introduce it we’d say “so there was a crown made of this through the whole first movie but it never harmed the rock in tights?”
I actually never heard the Rock spoiled the end credit scene so it came as a big surprise to me and my dad. We loved the movie it was really fun to watch. And yeah, like the story and some of the scenes were kinda “meh” but we were really just there for the action
the rock was booed at comic con because cavill was not in the movie then the rock got wb to put him in at the last second before the film opened that is why he made a big deal about it he was embarassed at what happened at comic con
Acting - 6 Character development- poor (felt little to nothing for most characters) Story - good story poor execution Comedy - had it's ups and downs fights - 9/10 Enjoyment - 7/10 Favorite character - Doctor Fate i'm excited for the future of the character though but i never really felt worried for the city😭 overall rating 6.5/10 (.5 cause of mid credits)
To be fair. The Eternium being a weakness not coming into play makes sense because the one soldier who saw it hurt him died. Everybody else who saw that was on his side. Nobody knew about it.
Hey guys.. just a suggestion It would be pretty cool if you could start reacting to Formula 1 and get to know more about it Would really love it if you would do that..
But if they would bring up something like eternium in the second movie everyone's gonna be like "how did they just bring that up, if it's that important to the character...seems like an afterthought"
saw the movie friday. i liked it. yall had me going in thinking it was going to be horrible. yall are just haters. and this is a universal you directed at all critics/normies cause the majority hated on it, saying stuff like its goofy, bad, awful, makes no sense, edited weird, etc etc. all lies. it could have been longer and did more character development but other than that...........no complaints. it was a fun ACTION film.
You sound like an unbiased source.. It's def goofy and sloppy and fun. Stuff in it isn't that good and some of it is. Your praise sounds as justified as some of the most hateful critiques.
Sorrry Achara i get it for the casual fan Henry Cavill showing up was probably just Blah but for big DC and Superman Stans which there is many and i am one..Actually seeing Cavill as Superman again was one of the greatest moments in recent cinema, i almost cried!
The movie sucked.. lets be real. Too many plot holes. Dr Fate can see the future but for some reason he didn't know that imprisoning Black Adam was a bad idea, and he didn't know that the bad guy wanted to die on purpose to only come back as a demon? Nah.. that sucked. As soon as I saw the guy coming back to life, I was like "wtf Dr Fate? You couldn't see this sh#t coming?" Come on you can see the future..FFS. Whats the point of that power if it doesn't help them in the slightest ?? .. Lame writing.
That's where you're wrong..Dr Fate sees OUTCOMES he does not see the events that lead to the outcome...So he does not have knowledge of how the demon is going to rise or that imprisoning Black Adam was a bad idea...In Dr Fate's vision, He sees destruction and at that point, Black Adam is the only threat they are aware of and therefore he is the only possible individual that would end up killing Hawkman in his vision therefore their only goal at that point was to imprison him.
Hey guys, big fan of ur channel from Ireland, luv ur reactions..I also thought it was cheesy, had a very simple storyline and had so many comic book superhero tropes, an annoying kid (reminded by of little Annie in Star Wars Phantom Menace, someone needed to kick that kid too) and a poor Devil CGi villian guy. The film also had incredible action, hilarious moments, introduced some cool characters that were all given adequate screen time and the film had a pace that never let up!!..I just had so much fun, no joke not the best comic book movie of 2022 but the comic book film i most enjoyed in theatres. Jaby i dont really care about the main characters being exactly like the source material either but like u have been a little upset with The Last Of Us show changing so much from the game im sure u can understand their viewpoint. Achara i agree spoiling Black Adam and his father surprise in the trailer was a little much, i just pretended it was a misdirect until scene revealed itself like MCU did with Hulk in Infinity War trailers..In regards to the kid standing up high and gathering people using his little voice, i think it was a callback to Black Adam as a kid standing in Kandaq rallying the people before he got superpowers and the whole country knew the story anyway, the Walking Dead skeleton cannon fodder creatures were ridiculous though like Ultron bots in Avengers. Ryan George makes great videos, this was a pretty good one..Got introduced to him through u guys, The Twilight movies one i watched with u guys was great, still the worst franchise in movie history, even more then Transformers...
well we all have our wishes but they rarrely come to life...the movie was ok,fun, serious, full with action.i would be disapointed if there is no chapter 2
No negative things? What about no development from any character besides Black Adam? Name three things you know from every JSA member, they were barely a character. Dr Fate is a moron, capturing BA when he knows the demon is coming and he needs him, there was no need for his death. Hawkman destroying and killing more people than Black Adam when he's fighting him. And also, using the helmet without puttung him on. What was Ishmael's plan before BA resurrecting? He had to die in order to become Sabbac.
So this is another one where Jaby decides that no critical standards apply because he likes the movie? Why can’t we ever agree when that should be the case?? It can’t just be when a movie is ‘Fun’. Black Adam isn’t even intentionally a comedy. And the Batman took itself incredibly seriously and it also got a pass!
That's definitely debatable. Not sure a good argument is available for either. Personally, I found Thor a little more enjoyable as I didn't go in expecting it to be Shakespeare which apparently many others did for some reason.
We expect an actor be an ACTOR, if you're getting paid hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars for just acting on camera you could at least learn the language especially with how much the Rock hyped this film up, he did it to himself you talk big your film better be a masterpiece. It's crazy to me that people get bothered by other's opinions just because you guys are ok with constantly turning your brains off for these mindless films doesn't mean the rest of us are especially fans who grew up with the source material, I'm a customer if I spent money on a product I'm entitled to critique it. It's just one of many troupes that make absolutely no sense, just like every alien race in GOTG speaking complete English...it would be nice if they explained a communication device being used but they don't even bother to do that.
Don't sweat it. Like they said, they didn't care, so I guess that's why the people who made the movie didn't care either. I guess that's what DC stands for now...😆
Black Adam was trash IMO. 4/10. Other than Hawkman I didn't like anyone else. The obnoxious kid alone was worth docking two points off the movie. This would have been an average comic movie in 2001.
I liked black-adam way better than : - -Shazam -Flash -No way home -Love & Thunder &... 1984 WW just to share a few. PS, have never liked the Rock. just saying PSS, Yes i brought up 2 different franchises:) PSSS, Yes, there are way more sh*t movies i couldve named but.....
I watched BA 2 days back. Man what a hot pile of garbage. Not the writing, even the technical aspects are also bad. The bgm was so repetitive and over the top I got cancer in my ears, the dialogue editing, mixing whatever was so so bad, and that god awful acting of Rock, ewww. The only positive thinga for me in this movie are Cavill's return (which was also ruined by not putting HIS theme, the Zimmer's score), Dr Fate and Hawkman, not their character writing, just the casting and their acting, I hope they return with good scripts.
I think my biggest issue with the movie was all the normal people fighting the skeleton zombies and winning, at least to a degree. What kind of threat could they possible serve as if some random people with makeshift weapons could take them out?

While I get the complaint about the eternium not being paid off in this movie, if they waited til the sequel to introduce it we’d say “so there was a crown made of this through the whole first movie but it never harmed the rock in tights?”
I got high, turned my brain completely off, had popcorn, and still hated this movie lol.
Boy I'm glad I rarely ever watch trailers! Ever since Far From Home.
Black adam is a villiam not a anti hero he should be in ahazam.
It really is a popcorn movie
But it’s better than almost everything marvel put out this year
Black Adam got struck with Eternium early in the movie and it crippled him for a little while.
Acting - 6
Character development- poor (felt little to nothing for most characters)
Story - good story poor execution
Comedy - had it's ups and downs
fights - 9/10
Enjoyment - 7/10
Favorite character - Doctor Fate
i'm excited for the future of the character though but i never really felt worried for the city😭
overall rating 6.5/10 (.5 cause of mid credits)
I hate the whole "heroes dont kill" bs when literally every "hero" kills😑
To be fair. The Eternium being a weakness not coming into play makes sense because the one soldier who saw it hurt him died. Everybody else who saw that was on his side. Nobody knew about it.
Hey guys.. just a suggestion
It would be pretty cool if you could start reacting to Formula 1 and get to know more about it
Would really love it if you would do that..
But if they would bring up something like eternium in the second movie everyone's gonna be like "how did they just bring that up, if it's that important to the character...seems like an afterthought"
Better than an unused Chekovs gun.
Just found out that Black Adam is a box office flop.
Still better than many marvel movies...
Yall should react to black Adam hishe
Doctor fate sacrificed hinself to save hockman
10:07 no because the rocks ego has his movie contracts specifically say he isn't allowed to lose fights in his movies which is so pathetic
Honestly he ruined the idea of this movie with his one dimensional acting and the fact that he hired a bang average director for this movie
Jaby trying so hard to defend this dumpster fire
🎉🎉
saw the movie friday. i liked it. yall had me going in thinking it was going to be horrible. yall are just haters. and this is a universal you directed at all critics/normies cause the majority hated on it, saying stuff like its goofy, bad, awful, makes no sense, edited weird, etc etc. all lies. it could have been longer and did more character development but other than that...........no complaints. it was a fun ACTION film.
Shut up
You sound like an unbiased source..
Black Adam was really good most fun i had watching a comic book movie in awhile
Nah it's dogshit
@acharakirk What a laugh at the beginning there.
It's impossible to narrow down the worst thing, or even a "Top Ten" list of things, about the film because it's such an epic catastrophe.
Thor Love and Thunder *~* Black Adam
After watching the two Jumanji movies it was a huge mistake to cast The Rock as Black Adam, he should have been Shazam.
Holier than Swiss Cheese?
well we all have our wishes but they rarrely come to life...the movie was ok,fun, serious, full with action.i would be disapointed if there is no chapter 2
Sequel 🤣😂🤣😂... right
lol super easy 10:09
I thought this movie was great. Other than that they had to much of the kid there was no real negative things about it imo
Time for your nap.
And now Henry Cavill won't be back as Supes.
Black Antvon
Still better than THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER
Best way to describe thor love and thunder is homework
My dog using the bathroom was better than it
That's definitely debatable. Not sure a good argument is available for either. Personally, I found Thor a little more enjoyable as I didn't go in expecting it to be Shakespeare which apparently many others did for some reason.
@joe i didnt hate it could definitly say i enjoyed it, i really enjoyed jane and gorr
TLAT made me feel something. All I would’ve felt in this movie is boredom
Irony is Henry Cavill left DC... 🥴
Still Better Than Recent M-SHE-U Movies 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Still worse than she hulk.
DsheU🤡🤡🤡🤡
The movie was fun up until the 3rd act. Just got messy, but still great for a drinking game
I liked the movie Black Adam, I thought it was a good movie
If Christian Bale can gargle rocks and be held as a great Batman (he's not), then Dwayne Johnson could do a horrible accent and it'd be ok.
I liked black-adam way better than : -
-Shazam
-Flash
-No way home
-Love & Thunder &...
1984 WW
just to share a few.
PS, have never liked the Rock. just saying
PSS, Yes i brought up 2 different franchises:)
PSSS, Yes, there are way more sh*t movies i couldve named but.....
Crappiest movie just behind green lantern 🤦🏻♂️
I watched BA 2 days back. Man what a hot pile of garbage. Not the writing, even the technical aspects are also bad. The bgm was so repetitive and over the top I got cancer in my ears, the dialogue editing, mixing whatever was so so bad, and that god awful acting of Rock, ewww. The only positive thinga for me in this movie are Cavill's return (which was also ruined by not putting HIS theme, the Zimmer's score), Dr Fate and Hawkman, not their character writing, just the casting and their acting, I hope they return with good scripts.
This movie failed in box office jaby
U guys didn't find this pitch meeting as funny as most others. Hmmmm wonder why
At least it's not as boring as black panther 2 thank God! 😅
Black Adam wasn’t it for me. If I didn’t know about the Henry Cavill post credit scene, I would have walked out.
