- Lich King Defeat Cinematic. Arthas Death. All Cinematics. World of Warcraft. In pursuit of vengeance, the once Crown Prince of Lordaeron purged the city of Stratholme, sailed to Northrend, took the cursed blade of Frostmourne, slayed Mal'ganis & returned to scourge his homeland. After slaying Uther & raising Sylvanas and his citizens in undeath, he returned to become the Lich King. Tirion Fordring & Darion Mograine led the Argent Crusade & Death Knights to Icecrown to Bring Arthas to justice.

Narrator: Arthas, your soul gets tossed into a dark pit of hell by a blue man with wings to be consumed in a soul sucking sword before being consumed as a light fart.

I will never forgive blizz for not give arthas and jaina a moment in the end of shadowlands. They had a chans to do the most insane moment even that would brought all Warcraft fans tears or joy.. instead he dissapeared like a whimper whisp.

Nah, Arthas isn't even that sympathetic. He was driven by the pursuit of good, but he was also arrogant. His downfall was of his own doing, against the advice of his closest friends.
I call what you say Nostalgia. His story wasn`t even good, it was the classic one, search for power to do good, turn out bad. What is sad about a story that we saw everywhere.

It’s been in ours ever since. Still hoping Arthas soul half is still out there and we get a proper Arthas movie. Always.
I still can’t believed Blizzard disrespected the best lore in Warcraft with whatever Shadowlands was supposed to be.

It broke my heart the way the Jailer used up the last remnants of Arthas' soul to fuel the creation of Kingsmourne. The portion of Arthas' consciousness that was still human and struggling against the evil never gets any closure or redemption. In the end, he's just an unconscious whisp of anima that fades away to nothing. No peace, no being sorted by the new Arbiter, no afterlife. He simply ceases to exist. Arthas' character suffered a tragic, disrespectful misuse at the hands of the modern writing team. I wonder what the newly returned Metzen thinks of what the Council of Wokeness has done with his characters in his absence.

Well I mean now we get Cataclysm Classic. I remember Cata fondly, it was pretty good until 4.2, Dragon Soul felt rushed.
Even in death, as a spectral vision, Uther choses to forgive his apprentice and friend 😔

The saddest part about all of this was that blizzard did Arthas dirty by making him 35 anima.
What makes Shadowlands so dumb, is that Arthas was possessed during all this..with no free will. The one hope I have is that his heart is still on Azeroth, so part of him and his soul still exists to be redeemed.
He isn't. He killed Ner'Zhul's spirit inside the helm of domination and his 'true self' was absorbed into frostmourne. More accurately he 'killed' his former self. The reason he's inactive in-between Warcraft 3 and WOTK is because he's fighting Ner'Zhul and becoming the true lich king. He was tormented by the spirits trapped in Frostmourne, but he was no longer being manipulated. To be fair though, the "Lich king" and "Arthas" at that point weren't really the same thing.

Arthas should of never been thrown in the Maw because he was the biggest hero of Azeroth by keeping control of the undead from taking over.

The writers of Shadowlands basically raped the character of the Lich King in a ditch by destroying the helm and turning it into a tiara.
The purposely destroyed the lore just to piss us off.
All of Shadowlands was done out of spite.
