It has Real exhaust.... just because the pipes don't stick out the back has no effect on performance. In fact having the exhaust port under the car keeps things much cleaner. All the car reviewer's mention this and I find it quite silly. It's not a Corvette it is an SUV!
I actually like the clean look without the exhaust. It does grow on you and how well it fits the styling of the car. This is my first Audi and a huge fan of their design details now. I've been without for 3 days now and I'm getting withdrawal symptoms... no joke. It just feels so good to sit in and to drive.
I like your videos but really don’t like the transitions between each questions. The quietness and voice change seems really awkward and out of place. Not needed at all.
This was a nice video, but you're wrong about the exhaust. I understand what you mean, but the exhaust isn't fake. It is very real. There's nothing fake about it. The rear fascia - which is what you're talking about - is not the exhaust. It's sad that you and so many others say this is the exhaust. The rear fascia has fake exhaust tips. It's the rear fascia that's fake, or more correctly presents itself to be something other than what it really is. I don't agree this is anywhere close to being a big deal. It isn't IMO. The plus side: no exhaust soot to clean up.
The problem is that it seems cheap for a $55k+ car. You know he means those black inserts when he is referring to it, we all obviously know they arent the actual exhaust.
The purpose of the rear fascia is to prevent the sooth exhausting on owners when they are at the back, most motoring journalist is getting this all wrong because they dont do their homework: they should talk to the designers
Here's a negative to add to the list. Audi continually overcharging for technology and safety features that are standard on its competitors like the Volvo XC60. Even the highest Prestige trim doesn't guarantee the air suspension or highest driver assistance technologies.
J High you are comparing price tags on two very different manufacturers. Chinese products are notorious for their cheap parts, low quality control and overall inferiority. Of course Volvo will be less expensive. German cars are manufactured by well trained and therefore well paid mechanics, not sweatshop labor. High end European cars have always been more expensive, but that is part of the draw to them by those of us who can afford them.
John Smith You do realize that Volvo cars and SUV's are still made in Sweden and in Belgium (the new XC40)? I believe the S90 sedan may be the only Volvo made in China that's sold in North America. Volvo is currently building a manufacturing plant in South Carolina where all cars to be sold in North America will be built. Hmm....Mercedes and BMW both have manufacturing plants in the US for their North American market, and Audi has a manufacturing plant in Mexico where the Q5 (Audi's best selling vehicle in North America) is built for their North American market. I guess those high end European luxury automakers were able to find highly trained and skilled workers in the US and Mexico to supply the North American demand for their overpriced vehicles. But please, feel free to respond with yet another condescending reply highlighting the Europeans superiority in luxury car craftsmanship.
Done a lot of research on this car and it's direct competition (namely offerings from BMW and Mercedes) , and what I've found is pound for pound, even with the add on tech they're all pretty much close on price. Basic difference is the Audi is more of an everyday driver car while the others are more sport driving oriented and slightly outclass the Audi in that department but sacrifice a bit of comfort in doing so. Really depends on what is most important to an individual buyer.

How about a 2018 SQ5 w/o the sport pkg? Is the air suspension more of a liability later down the line in terms of maintenance? Thanks
nice! What color is that?
Best concise review I've seen yet.
Thanks for your review. It was very informative.
Is that Cleveland Ohio?
Wow. 55.000$? In germany it starts at 65.000€ which is roughly 76.000 US $.
Why though?
That check engine light tho
Do you have also informations about the next RSQ5 with 450HP and 600Nm? Will it come for 2018? I hope so...
I have the 2017 SQ5 it is has exhaust tips that get a little carbon on them, much better, plus was made in Germany, now made in Mexico,
is that good for off road ?
Done a lot of research on this car. Short answer is if you're talking any serious off road driving, the model really isn't designed for it.
Is Google Earth the same as Google Maps?
Paul Connolly , kinda sorta pretty much so, but no it isn't.
Stanton Taylor
That cleared things up.

Lousy fuel economy, expensive premium fuel, can be a pain to drive in slow traffic with dual clutch trans. I wish i could afford one...
Except this doesn't have a dual clutch transmission. Try again.
@@lockheedload You're right - 8 speed- my bad.

J High too bad Volvo is Chinese now
John Smith
That has what to do with Audi's overcharging for technology and safety features?

I don't like this guy accent.
