Thanks so much for your videos on Apple Motion! Please keep making them! There isn't much content out there on Apple Motion and your tutorials are really helpful!
11:23 well spent. Mark's fluidity and ease of use always impress me. This tutorial is packed with Motion tips. If I ever get to the point of making something like this in under 12 minutes, I'll have arrived at the Promised Land.
Love it! It would be cool if you did a follow-up for this, creating a simple chart/graph in Excel/Numbers, importing with Illustrator and animating the vector graph in Motion! Thank you!
Just finished following along in my copy of Motion. Thanks a million. So very useful. I have your Warp Speed Motion training and I'm looking forward to it.
Really great, I tried to build it too but with just one problem: The keyframing of the camera movement seems to be difficult. So when I adjust the intermediate keyframes (e.g. see at 9:44) it always has effects to the keyframes before and after. I cannot see the mistake...😫 Best regards Peter
Great Tutorial Mark, was easy to follow along and I'm already making variations. One question or suggestion for a plugin, is it possible to have Motion read a csv file and plot datapoints, I know its not a real chart but having text entries linked to lines in a file would make data entry nice and easy
Absolutely love your work guys !! Q: Where you adjust a data point on your graph inside FCPX, is there a way to link/rig that data XY position 'Text numerical Value" such as 200 to rise and fall such as 180 or 220 proportionally to the bar graph rectangle Y scale being altered inside FCPX, downstream (via the publish route). ie link Numerical data to the range of the bar?
@Ripple Training thanks - My mistake for not making my question clear - sorry. I mean - when I scale the size of the Bar using the published Y axis slider - how does it calibrate to the 'rig' to give the correct value in text/no's so 200 becomes 180 or 220 as the bar is made bigger or smaller in FCPX?
I used to play with Flash since Flash 5 days. Over time for work I had to switch to programming role and of course Adobe ruined it slowly. This gets me excited again esp. the 3d camera and all the adv. behaviour and filters. I just wish there was some way to turn this interactive for the web.
Thanks Mark! Another great tutorial. I am looking to get a course on Motion, I am a big FCPx user and can find my way around motion but need help and You guys make great content, is there a course that is for people who are a bit more advanced than beginners but need a full set of tutorials?
The more advanced ones that we recommend are these: Warp Speed 3D, Creating Replicator Effects and Creating Particle Effects - www.rippletraining.com/product-category/motion-learning-path/
Great video mate. I want to learn Motion but you are a bit too advanced for me, I think I should find a way to start the basics first, although I understand a lot in your video
Mark the more I see your Motion tutorials the more I want to start using it. You make it look simple and very fun to be creative with. Thank you sir.

You are my hero for the day. Thank you so much for what you do. Do you sell a full course on learning motion?

That would be useful yes
I wonder if there's a way to export somewhat readable XML from Motion and then replace the CSV data through some external script.
Awesome work !

Yes, you have to rig the y-scale of the bar to a slider in motion before publishing to FCP.

Steve Jobs hated Flash. Apple had a big hand in killing it.
Amazing explanation.❤
“Heighth”. I used to say that too. Turns out it’s just height. No h at the end. Love the videos!
Typo, thanks.

EXCELLENT
Great video as always and wish for this virus to disappear.
"OCT" should come after "SEPT"
Eli Miletich that has been pointed out to me thank you
Infidel idea: why not to create a nice graph in Apple Numbers and then import it into Motion? 😅
