    So the little tag on the purple elastic is designed so one can use it as a hook, to avoid going over the top and doubling like a regular elastic bag.

    Hands down best video on tipless bags I’ve seen. Thank you! Question...with flood icing, after flooding cookie, what do you do with your bag so icing doesn’t ooze out in between cookies? I tried it once, and didn’t know what to do with the bag...laid it down and icing being icing, it oozed out. I’m sure there’s a simple solution, like sticking it in a cup upside down?

    • @BorderlandsBakery
      @BorderlandsBakery  5 лет назад +5

      I just pinch the tip so icing is removed from the first 1CM and then store upside down :) stick it in a cup or bowl!

    I love that you use the same consistency to pipe and flood. Do you prefer to outline and flood with tipless piping bags or with tips? I am just beginning to decorate cookies and I am wondering if it works just as well to skip the tips and save a little money getting started. Thanks.

      Always with tipless-- I almost NEVER use tips unless if I need to do a special design with stiff icing :)

    Hi do you ever use plastic squeezy bottles to pipe?. Don't suppose you could do a video on holding an icing bag, I always struggle holding and squeezing bag, it comes out both ends

    • @BorderlandsBakery
      @BorderlandsBakery  2 года назад +1

      I don't use bottles- Honestly, I decorated often and it's just too much extra time and effort for me. I teach how to hold a piping bag in my course (Bakingwithborderlands.com), but I'll need to make a shorter video on my tiktok soon on how to hold the bag. Basically, I don't fill all the way, and use my size small bags. The bulk of the icing is usually in my hands, or I clip halfway down the bag and twist so that the icing doesn't go shooting up the backside. Use clips!

    Lisa, I went to your Amazon shop and was wondering about the silk screen frame. Do you place it over the top of your cookie stencils when airbrushing? I just bought the material from Amazon to place over the top of the Stencil Genie. Would it be better to return and get this the framed one instead?

    • @BorderlandsBakery
      @BorderlandsBakery  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, sometimes-- or you can print sticky vinyl and adhere it and airbrush or stencil over it with royal icing-- google "how to use silkscreens for cookies" for more :)

      You can wear gloves if you’re doing this for other people. I do. But it’s not necessary for demos like this.

      But ours just have 1 seam with no flaps, which makes them great for tipless piping

      You need to really lock down the ratios of your wet:dry and baking temp/time. It all matters. I have some info on my blog with good recipes: borderlandsbakery.com/recipes/my-recipes-andmore/

    The band wraps around the bag then over the knob. Not like a ponytail

    I’m so confused by the way you use the pastry bag elastics! Why not just loop them around with the knot like they’re designed for?

    • @BorderlandsBakery
      @BorderlandsBakery  5 лет назад

      They don't get tight enough that way for my usage and pressure when squeezing.

    I don't understand why they're called "tipless."

    • @BorderlandsBakery

      Because you’re not using a metal piping tip in it.
