I can't help thinking a large part of this is regional economy. I believe each Fanfest is handled by a local team, and as much as I enjoyed NA I definitely think a Vegas production budget wouldn't stretch anywhere near as far as a China one.
This is 100% it. Vegas, especially in the last few years, is insanely expensive to visit let alone to host a flashy business event.
If you check their China Fanfest website and scroll down, yes one of the hosts were Tencent and with that info thats why they have so much budget 😂
Understand that its much MUCH cheaper as well in the region. Im from SEA, went to Us/UK, and couldnt fathom why EVERYTHING is so outrageously expensive
@@ArchieGamez Tencent WeGame? That's the Chinese version of Steam, the equivalent of FFXIV on Steam. FanFest is still funded by Shenqu.
@@tooktookgulliblegreed. The answer is greed.
The contrast between the China fanfest and NA is... stark
I appreciate this kind of coverage being done by someone who actually has an understanding of the original event language instead of just repeating the same one or two questionably accurate fan translations in the form of a video 🙏
i must say its a more japanese style exibition than tokyo fanfest. Tokyo Dome is good for music live but without enough area for other items lol
I'm so in my emotions about this, it's so gorgeous I wish I could've seen these in person! I want to see these in person, and the Azem summoning circle???? Amazing
Just imagine a XIV Gacha...and instead of rolling on Characters, you have to get Lines in Wondrous Tails. No Rerolls
you have to pay for the rerolls
@@lifeiaskedfor Don't give Rowena ideas, please!
Can't wait for the debates on which characters should be 4-star vs. 5-star
If the fanfest was accurate Wuk Lamat would be the only one allowed to talk and would just snatch the mic out of Yoshi-p's hand.
the salt
@@daviddavidson2834 the truth
WOKE Lamat 🤮
@@daviddavidson2834 Lol, it's a mathematical inevitable fact that "Dawntrail" will be "Mostly Negative" on Steam soon.
The game is scoring poorly on any sites that allow players to voice their opinion.
Dawntrail is absolute garbage. I now know what it feels like to be a WOW player...
As far as I know YoshiP is working on another game, I thought was known
I know he also works on Dragon Quest X. Whatever the MMO is, but idk anything else since 16 is done.
@@AZodiacCancer He did work as planer for DQX before joining 14 team. I don't even know under which internal studio DQX is and I think besides working on same account system, Yoshi-P does not contribute to DQX.
Saw videos of this! That fanfest setup with the Endsinger stage is crazy!
Everyone will be trying to go to the next one there after seeing this!! so so good.
More content Quazii! Life is boring without it 😊
Wait, is Chinese FFXIV still at Endwalker?
IIRC the chinese version of the game is a major patch behind, so they'd be in 6.55 now and a few months away from dawntrail still.
@@normalmighty Oh God, they haven't had to suffer Woke Lamat yet.
Someone warn them!
The Chinese version is exclusively operated by SQ. According to SE's strategic needs, Chinese servers have a delay of about 3 months compared to International servers (Chinese players don't need to pay for CD Keys and have hourly billing). However, also on FanFest Day 2, Yoshi P promised to shorten this gap until the two are in sync. Ps, the gap between Korean servers also operated by SQ is even greater, reaching 6 months.
@@normalmighty It is now 6.58, updated 7.0 on September 27
I’m a huge XIV fanboy but mobile games are almost always garbage.
In Asia, it one of biggest thing. Right now, I dont know how anyone have money for it
Meanwhile we the spanish community are waiting for the translation that's not gonna happend never.
nope. Will never happen.
Seriously. WTF is going on with that? As if there arent 500 million spanish speakers in the world.
@@alexanderwilliams799 yeah. But how many of them play FF XIV 😄 i guess thats the problem.
@@alexanderwilliams799 ...that don't all speak the same version of Spanish? Like, do you just go with Spain Spanish? Cuban?
@@anaalvensleben789 lol written spanish is largely the same in all varieties with the exception of vosotros, vos and sos. They are mutually intelligible.
Spain spanish would make most sense since most characters have an english accent, and spain spanish would be the equivalent.
It just seems like quite the failure to sit here with DT being set mostly in mesoamerica.
And there is a substantial Portuguese and Spanish speaking community in FF14.
Really want to take a photo at that Hildiplant
Just curios, when WoW was removed from China, was ist noticeable in FFXIV player numbers? :-)
I guess iPhone 15 Pro could render it, but I would also doubt an FFXIV Mobile-Port. ^^
its gonna be mobile game like ff7 one but with 14's story
How popular is ff in CN? I wonder how popular it is to WoW in CN.
WOW is definitely the most popular and well-known MMO in CN, FF series are based on video-game, but there was about 10 years that CN banned ANY legal video-game related stuff trade till last few years ago...14 is really lucky and probably most known FF in CN, I saw many times that people wondering it is OK to start to play FF with the14th FF, should they start with 1st FF? lol
looool. The conspiracy in me is swelling.
It's almost impossible not to feel bitter about this, having gone to NA's FanFest last year and then getting to sit back and see how much better every other region's experience was.
1. Disorganized line queue system with people wrapped around the building, in Vegas heat.
2. The tiny café thing within the venue meant to service what felt like THOUSANDS of people.
3. Most of the vending machines didn't work
4. Couldn't buy merch because once again the line queue system was unreal and they were also just letting resellers buy up everything without limiting people on how much stuff they could purchase all at once, so they were picked clean by the second morning.
5. Not even close to having enough seating/chairs for everyone in attendance. The vast majority of attendees had to sit on the concrete floor for extended periods of time during panels and announcements. My tailbone hurt for several days following the event. Plus, there was no thought put into safety guidelines for handicapped seating, so that was a whole other mess.
6. Few activities/displays in the main hall. There wasn't a whole lot to do, and once again hundreds of people in each line just made it not worth the effort to bother.
7. Staff was a mixed bag, but most were very rude. People were getting yelled at and ordered to step away just for getting within like...10 feet of a display and trying to take a picture or selfie. It was absolutely ridiculous. Then you had other staff who didn't care if you walked right up to the displays and posed for pictures. It was really strange. Most were pretty hell-bent on keeping you far away though.
8. There was this awful smell outside the convention center that was almost nauseating. I think it may have had something to do with all the construction going on in the parking lot.
9. All the construction going on in the parking lot.
10. Even the event staff at the orchestra was really rude, so this extended beyond just the Las Vegas Convention Center.
I wouldn't bother trying to go to this thing again unless they change the location.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the part about tons of people getting COVID because some selfish idiots were there just being super spreaders, including this cringe furry on Twitter who decided to make an entire comic about it. I was one of the unfortunate people who got COVID after attending FanFest along with my wife and it ended up costing us our twins she was pregnant with at the time, so it was an all around miserable experience I will never forget for a multitude of reasons and the pain of losing our children will likely haunt us till the day we die.
Ff14 fans are pretty down bad, I mean what do you expect from a bunch of 20-40 year old dudes that play cat girls so they can play Barbie girl and explore their sexuality lol.
Epic
Good, those commies can have it now. Shadowbringers was peak and EW was shit (zodiark at 83 will NEVER be ok with me) and now Dawnfail is sitting at a cool 41% on steam.
Let them have the woke game, NA has moved on.
Please... no FFXIV Gacha game.
My poor wallet...
So instead into the game they spent their budget into some show :/ no wonder they hired such awful VA's and MSQ is just horrible.
Someone please explain to this misunderstood poor guy.
@@k.vn.k Woke Lamat sucks and people like you running defence for the game actively makes the game worse.
Fan fest means nothing its just fucking hype we all fall for.
Kinda odd, considering how the Chinese have been towards the Japanese lately.
Lately?
