Loved this album and the tour was amazing. Energy was incredible and the stage, with the massive sphinx, was nearly as good as their 70s shows. Very tragic however that this was the last time we would see all the glory of Eric Carr. He was super for KISS and he is sorely missed. The intro to Cadillac Dreams is wicked cool 😎

My stripped down album track list would be - Rise to It, Betrayed, Prisoner of Love (with Eric Carr on vocals), Forever, Silver Spoon, King of Hearts, You Love Me to Hate You, & Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell However, I have to change this because 5 out 8 are Paul songs, and there'd be 4 in a row too. That's why I'm putting The Street Giveth… back on the album.
Since Little Caesar is my 10th favourite song on the album I wish they gave Eric a better song. It's got me wondering, if he sang one song on the other six KISS albums what would they be. Could you do a video about that?
Don't know if you read much but I am finishing up the autobiography of Peter Criss - Makeup to Breakup. I know it's limited material and the time reading would be plenty but could you do a review, or breakdown, of who's book you liked the most. I have read all 4. Aces book is, in my opinion, most accurate and I realized that Peter was a whiny crybaby. But financially he had every reason to complain. Id love to know what you think. Thanks Dave for the KISS love and opening my eyes and ears to how Gene and Paul really were.

The only problem I can see is that I read each book as soon as it came out, so now I'm not sure how much I recall. Lol Maybe I should read them again so I can talk about them. Good review, nice in depth. On point with why it's many songs hurt the album. I like about 5 tracks only. The 3 singles, King of Hearts and Little Caesar. The rest is either meh or simply bad. Read My Body is my all time worst KISS song. However, the tour was amazing and probably my favorite if the 13 I've seen. Mostly due to the setlist and Paul's vocal abilities at the time. I remember after buying this album thinking, not great, but better and going in the right direction. GnR had really brought straight forward hard rock back in vogue and KISS forever following trends went more in that camp. Couldn't quite wipe the Bon Jovi/Def Leppard off though. Luckily, they'd get it right the next album imo.
I went to this tour. I loved the show, but the album is still kinda 50/50 for me. It's like they threw all sorts of stuff on it, to see what would stick. I haven't seen a new pressing, but my old BMG one had horrible fidelity.
It really is a shame, too. Because the good songs are pretty good, but then all that other stuff is just...bleh. I never had this on vinyl. Could have, but didn't. And of course now you can only seem to get it for, like, a Billion dollars online - which is totally ridiculous. It's one of the only KISS vinyls I don't own.

I guess I can hear a few little similarities in those solos, but I do have to point out..."Forever" came out in '89, while "To Be With You" didn't come out until '91. So, if anybody did any borrowing there, it was Mr. Big. Thanks for watching!
Ace Frehley, Bonnie Tyler and Molly Hatchet covered Hide Your Heart and I'll be honest I hated those versions I have nothing against Ace but he destroyed that song on his Trouble Walkin' album in 89'
The one obvious mistake gene and Paul was not letting Eric carr one or two songs on every album he was on

Bought the Album on Cassette at the time - id say it was okay but wasnt great - the cover didnt help much like Elder but it was OK
I'm so lucky to have seen them play a small club show and Eric performed Little Caesar the literally only time
