I’m highly impressed by this production. And I’d say it takes a good 3-4 attempts to really start to get the hang of mounting a flesh head. Don’t be scared, yall. The full setup with a new head should take about 48 hours, in my experience. Great walk through.

Great production on this Mads, well done - This will come in very handy for me, as I'm sure it will for others too! Keep making these, I've not seen any other videos in the community that have this sort of feel. (Also, Glad my boy Mango could be of crucial assistance in this trying time of ground-breaking experimentation.)
Dear Mads, can you please send me the following heads that you used up trying to get putting on your beautiful banjo? I want to try to gluing calf skin on to my plastic 🤔 banjo heads. Better than wasting. Willing to buy too.
I certainly would, but my dog ate them! You can by them for about $20 from Bob Smakula at Smakula Fretted Instruments online. He is a nice fellow and will help you out! Maybe he has scraps too!
@chickenindoubleC Thank you, Mads. I will. Good 👍 luck 👍 with your re skinin your beautiful banjo. You know what, I want the same banjo you have. Same everything.
Hmmm, I'm not sure about this. I have not heard of parchment heads, but I prefer calfskin. Some folks like goatskin too. There are also lots of good reasons to have a plastic head, but I try to avoid it.
@@chickenindoubleCthe Joseph Rodgers Jr heads that we all rave about are parchment. I believe you mount a parchment head in much the same way, because it’s a processed hide.
The cinematography, this whole video just feels pleasant and homey. Well done!!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! Might as well enjoy a drink and a candle while you curse your birth after your banjo head pops the third time...

That means a lot, Blaine! The video is yours as much as it is mine. Yes, it is not bad at all!
What an awesome video, Mads! Top notch production quality.
Thanks Trout!
Always good to have a spray bottle handy with water in it in case it starts to dry too quickly. Tom in Idaho
Thank you for the advice, Tom! Why would you need the spray bottle, and what are the signs/when do you know to use it? Thank you!

Great video Mads! This is a must see video for anyone wanting to tack the task of re-skinning their banjo. Bravo!👏
Thank you, Narcan!! I was inspired by your Beginner Banjo videos!
Very good work. The banjo repair and the video.
Thank you!
I am only a third of the way in and I have already learned so much! This is a gem! Top tier banjo content.
That's high praise, thank you!

VERY nicely done!
Thank you so much!
Perfection.
Hardly, but if there's any perfection to be found here, it's in your chimes. Your music really makes the video; thank you for offering it.

What about parchment or leatherhead that 🤔 were also 🤔 used before the plastic head?
