Cobb Tuning did a great job with R&D and putting together a great setup for the MR. I have their Stage 4 kit with the FP 18k turbo. Their V3 Accessport works great and a safe Stage 4 Off the shelf map making 380 HP 372 Ft/Lb to the wheels. Get it Pro tuned and squeeze out even more. Their MR made 461HP 359 Ft/Lb on E85 and a pro tune with stock block. Super fun! Subbed!
I daily a 14 MR, too many upgrades to list but it's ground up but it's making 340/330 at the wheels. Stock turbo, stock block, that's all that's stock as far as power pieces go. Completely new suspension, new links, sway bars, strut bar. Had to get rid of that heavy Bilstein and Eibach shit for something more adjustable and way lighter. That change alone made the car extremely flat around corners. I see a lot of misconceived advise on what mode to drive in. Run in Normal until car is at normal temp, then change to Sport. S-Sport is for constant high speeds, needed to push air through the cooler. Only time I use S-Sport is when it's warmed up and when I'm stomping on it, otherwise a blend of Normal and Sport for daily. Nothing worse for the Getrag-DCT470 than pounding on it when it's cold. When it's too hot, it'll let you know with limp-mode. I've never got my car into limp mode.
@@hassans184 I run Fortune Auto 510 with Swift springs @ 9k/9k, dampers set to 14 clicks on the front, and 12 clicks on the rear. Whiteline rear sway bar, Whiteline end links and a Cusco strut bar up front. Front sway bar is perfect from factory. This set up helps the car rotate with a touch more oversteer. If I had to do it again, I would go with the Ohlins Road and Track set, same spring rates but the FA Auto's are legit.
I had a bone-stock 14’ MR, and raced a bone-stock Focus RS. DEAD fucking even from around a 40 roll to 100mph. I think I was slightly pulling on him near the end, but yeah, dead even. I was surprised.
TBH the only car that excites me after 2008 is the Evo X. I personally think its leagues ahead of the 8/9 in every single category. And mine is stripped out to 3200lbs so weight is no problem anymore either!
First mod I think you should do before getting it tuned is an Ohlins R&T. Will transform the car, you'll forget about body roll. The ride quality of the Ohlins is epic. Another thing you can consider is an Android Head unit in which you can install the Torque Pro app and with an OBD BT dongle (+MUTv2 add-on) you can monitor SST temp after you have it tuned. Enjoy the evo!
I have a 2011 evo x a mr on my page. For an MR. make sure you change the SST often. Make sure to throw the car in neutral at a long stop. Always drive it in S-Sport. I’d recommend going ETS, since that’s why I have. I’m bolt on except for a downpipe. I’ve made 298/271 on a Mustang Dyno.
How often to service the sst i have the 2010 se comes with the sst i have 80k runs great like new still i baby it want it to last another 10 years lol im thinking to upgrade clutches soon as well
@@hassans184 Did you buy it new or with 80k on it? Did the previous owner provide any receipts for service? I would do a change right away, then every 30,000 km's unless you track it, you should change it every 10,000 km's. Only use DIAQUEEN SST, there are no substitutions for this gear box. Don't change the clutches until they slip, you'll know when that happens. That's a $5000 job btw, so run the stock clutches into the dirt.
I own a X MR/SST as well. I’d recommend getting full turboback exhaust from top speed. You’ll be paying less than $800. Compared to other companies that will charge double or more. And the SST will take a “poop” on you 😂 eventually they all do. Mine did. Get the Dodson fork magnet and never again will you have a problem.
Great to see u driving her in S-sport mode. Do ah teach so it would fix Dat first gear problem ah bit but dats how it works. You can contact kozmic to tune the sst with your bolt on's. Exhaust down pipe, test pipe u Wld love it
The EVO X MR has a Getrag transmission which is the same company that makes the DSG for Volkswagen, mechanically very similar, but made for Mitsubishi's spec.
I actually have an Evo x mr and I just had my transmission replaced under an extended warranty. I still have the old trans and it still works, it just had a minor leak. I was thinking about taking it to Jacks trans later on. The car gets so much hate from people that have never driven them. If you keep up with the trans oil changes you should be fine. Also for the money you paid for it thats a fucking steal.
These cars are for young guys that want to feel like they actually are a real rally racer. The neighbor kid is a father and husband with one on the way. He has two older Mitsubies and he's real proud to crank up the engine every morning and and stand there for 15 minutes while it gets the oil pressure up and everything is Bice and snug. Then, he takes about 5 minutes to back out of the driveway and another minute to get to the stop sign 50 feet doemwn the road. I keep thinking what he's going to tell the hospital when his baby needs care: "Yeah, we'll get her there, but first I have to warm up Mitsubie, I hope she makes it....." Lol...total waste of time and money...
I hope Mitsubishi goes broke what they did to the Lancer and evo they don't deserve to stay in business. The Lancer and evo's were a very reliable car and fun to drive. All they are good for now is building farm machinery for the yuppies.
It wont beat a stock RS. My RS is stock and I just got pulled one length by an FBO Evo X. I think the evo feels faster because of the way power surges, but I dont think it is.
koukicrisp there’s no way because evo x fbo make around 330-370 on just bolt ons and tune and rs make 350 on paper but on dyno 310 so if that did happen then the evo x owner doesn’t know how to drive
@@Itachlazcano21 def happened and we ran it 4 times. I'd get the jump immediately and then he'd reel me in everytime. And he was FBO and tuned. By that same token tho, a 250whp stock, 3550lb car wont beat a 305whp 3450lb car either. Not stock atleast.
@@Itachlazcano21 I say the RS is faster/better up to a point. The RS makes power far easier to 400whp which can be done stock turbo fbo and e30. The Evo is better for everything over that power. But FBO vs. FBO the RS is faster.
I own a ralliart. Not as cool as the MR but man is it still fun! Great daily! Love the sst.

Got myself a GSR last year. first evo ever. coming from Mazdapseed 3. I like the car so far. I'm here in CT. trying to save money to build the fucker!
How modded was your speed3 bro? I'm thinking of getting an Evo x gsr later this year but keeping my speed. Does the evo feel raw like speeds?
@@rodrigosuarez586 Lots of money into it. only thing i had to do was build the block. instagram/ev0_dave you can see old shots of the car.

Thanks for the advice. Looking to get an MR eventually
Any recommendations on suspension components to upgrade to would greatly appreciate it
