Thank you! Planning to make more. If you skim through my other disclosure videos they talk about kick and bass a bit. Do you have a particular question on that?
Probably over a dozen plugins on that vocal! But "Latch" was made using mostly stock plugins. I think the message is don't let "the perfect gear" stop you.
Best thing was the quad track panning and the room moving the singer around to use your space while tracking instead of trying to add that vibe later with plugins
Parallel compression doesn't have to be the only parallel option for vocals. Parallel distortion, phaser effects, controlled chorus all sorts can work as just a little boost of energy. (Already have R-VOX, so if I get picked, please give it away to someone else, just wanted to share this one with everyone here :D)
Yea that's a Sol State tune - fanlink.to/solstate-getdown Btw, Guy usually uses "Big Kick (link in description)" for the sub layer and samples for mid/top kick layer.
I am needing help setting sound up using obs and presonus interface . I really want a nice sound for videos but everything I do sounds metallic and bad. That was with guitar straight into interface. I did try filter and chains but I really don’t know how to do all that. That is where I need help really bad. I want the Kathy Mattea tone like listen to her on asking us to dance either live or official video. Her live tone is beautiful, both are I love her music in that it’s that perfect tone to escape to. Please if you know how to achieve even a slight bit of that both in the vocal and guitar for live stream I’d be so grateful to know how to dial that in. I don’t know how to do the production stuff. Id be the happiest singer if I could just get this right. I left my really awful video up no matter what I did it wasn’t helping but maybe you can.
@@ThandoNewYork Sorry man. They must have deleted it. Occasionally they upload on RUclips. Honestly, the new album uses a lot of the same plugins/process so maybe that will help?
the CLA vocals bit at the end haha 😂😂
Glad you caught that!
CLA WOOOOO
@@ManguPremium was waiting for this!
funny as!
CLAAAAA VOOOOCAAAAALS
Damn guy knows what every producer wants to hear. Drive the Wet to 100 and back it down/ A/B. Golden m8
Golden indeed! Works for everything
Number 1 thing I learnt about was the whisper track, I'm looking forward to giving that one a go!
Try using Waves Morphoder too, has a "whisper" preset that can add whisper texture too!
I'll never be afraid of overcompressing adlibs ever again
give em hell 😉
My biggest take away is the whisper track. I had never heard of it before and think it's a genius additional layer.
invented and perfected by mutt lange. the world of pop and r&b vocal mixing owes its best trick to the hair metal era, lmao
Great video. Please make more like this about other aspects of Disclosure's production process, especially kick and bass. Thanks dude

Great video. Didn’t fully catch the side chain tip. What was the kick sidechained to?
Maaaan i thought i was weird for having ppl do 4 tracks for the same panning purpose! Love to see the same technique used by some legends!
Saw you guys in ATL,great show!
So excited for this video and the tips, thanks man. Fingers crossed for the giveaway?!
I'm a subscriber to their Twitch and they provide great tips! Thank you for summarizing them. Saves me a good amount of time.
Thanks! I sub to their Twitch too - def worth supporting Disclosure in any form.
Great video so much better than watching a long hour 👍🏾
Thanks! I try to find best bits for ya
omg the whisper track tip tho
I love how they said they use only stock Logic plugins, and here they got a dozen external plugins for a vocal lol
Probably over a dozen plugins on that vocal! But "Latch" was made using mostly stock plugins. I think the message is don't let "the perfect gear" stop you.
EDIT - GIVEAWAY OVER
"Pøsterity •_•" has won the giveaway. Congrats mate.
The Lavender one's especially helpful for me, only ever use a shure sm58. Ace stuff again, again matey!

Moar... MOAR!!!
What sound are they using at 8:12???
I want that sound
Pretty it's a stock logic ESX sine wave with some chorus and roto cab (maybe a few other things)

Good tip! Was hoping you would see this video!
Great tutorial! Well done.
Thanks!
i thought that 4ths and 5ths were kind of standard in contemporary/pop vocals, no? there's something more common? or they were referring to octaves?
I think they were referring to standard 4th and 5ths. I think it's how you blend them too. For example do you want a major 4th or a more edgy 5th?
@@SolStateMusic Did they ever mention if they create those harmonies with something like Autotune or other plugins?
My #1 vocal tip, put soundgoodizer on vocal chain and hope for the best. Sorry thats about the extent of my expertise
My #1 vocal tip is to record vocals naked in a cold room.
@@vdiaz123 idk if youre joking but im deadass gonna try this
