- The Comsat Angels, live Newcastle England, March 20th 1987. Recorded from analogue terrestrial broadcast onto Pro Grade Scotch Betamax L-750 videotape, mono audio. Tape archive number 175. The Comsat Angels were an English post-punk band from Sheffield, England, initially active from 1978 to 1995. Their music has been described as "abstract pop songs with sparse instrumentation, many of which were bleak and filled with some form of heartache". They have been credited as being an influence on later post-punk revival bands such as Blacklist, Bell Hollow, Editors and Interpol.

Flying Dreams is the one late period Comsats song that can live with their early brilliance - great, great band.

Their 1981 album Sleep No More was brilliant - just amazing atmosphere on it. I liked Chasing Shadows but I'm not super keen on their 90s stuff. I recently discovered that Stephen Fellows released a solo album on Bandcamp - it's really good!

Definitely! All good stuff, but they slowly lost a little bit of magic over releases. Frankly just having their albums/live sets as touchstone moments in my life has been very nice. Funny how certain things like lp’s or live boots from a band tie around groups of memories and bring them back..
Well, this band was my first musical obsession. I followed them everywhere for years, and that's me and my husband-to-be in the crowd at 7:30...
