Probably the band I would most like to see reappear. Brilliant songwriting, intelligent arrangements. Very much missed.
Great band, great Stephen Fellows's Comsat Angels. He's, (maybe with Adrian Borland), one of the most underestimated musicians and composers of 80 UK Post-Punk. Sheffield pride.
Yes, yes, yes, yes f**kin' yes!!!!
Wow nice words and borland❤
The Comsats were my first gig in 1981. They were the support to an unknown Irish band called...........U2 (or something like that). Both bands were brilliant and the gig spoiled me for a few years after that.
Just wonderful. Great, great band and much missed.
2 great songs by an overlooked band!
Comsat Angeles Still the best after so much years.
timeless....
I WORSHIPPED these guys in the early 2000's, when they were nowhere to be found, not a record in print. I would have given my right arm to see this!
Their uncluttered arrangements demonstrate a great confidence in their music. Excellent.
Spot on, what you leave out is equally important to what you leave in as Steve's stellar guitar playing demonstrates

The space between the notes. 👍✌
And only because their songs made it to Real Genius the movie do we even know about them. Sucha. talented group. Thank goodness for the movies.
As Miles Davis said it's not the notes but the space between the notes that makes interesting music.
I was there that night. 11 years ago!!
I am so jealous, you lucky bugger!! Would love to see them. Am a fan of the earlier music of another great Sheffield band but these guys should have been more famous than they were. Stephen has a better voice than Joe Elliott, just sayin.
Brilliant! before i left Sheff for `OZ & other places, this was my band(now in Japan)Why they never got to the big time is so bad.
If they had just come along later, if CSA, Chemeleons and The Sound had a reprint/relaunch when Interpol came along in 2001-2, they would've been huge. People did rediscover them around that time, but it was super quiet. Again, nobody wanted to bet money on them and it's a huge shame. They're one of the pillars of Postpunk. Joy Division gets most of the credit and it's just not that simple. There were many contributors, but you're forced to discover them on your own.
I won't mince my words - this is fucking brilliant! So good to hear that sound again, after nearly 40 years! Some of us are still kicking though we may look like we are worn out old farts, when this comes on loud we begin to move again! Thank you again ThLstWknd.
(yeah I have the same problem with my other crappy macbook the 'e' key no longer works, this one [macbook retina shit for £1000] just has a screen which is half BLACK so I see little but at least the sound comes through) 2019 01 20 20:08 MET
Whao@! and there are songs listed I still don't know! Christ its like Santa has arrived again!
Have loved them for 35 years!! In Oz, never got the chance to see them! Hope they know how loved they still are!!
That stunning sound, great band🤘🎼🎶💪
Vielen Dank👍🇩🇪
This is a perfect song. Thank you Comsat Angels!
one of the best bands i will ever notice through the years, and a few only knows, thanks!!!
I was there. Great! 👍 AK
very good comsat angels!
It’d be great if they could do another string of dates once this Covid bollox is over with. Chameleons gigs are always well attended so no reason these wouldn’t be as well!
Thank you for sharing these videos! I live in the US and only stumbled onto Comsat a couple of years ago. It's good to know they've still got the groove going, at least as of a decade ago. ^_^
Same boat here. Ended up buying most of their records off of Amazon. Criminally underrated band. It's a shame that these guys were in their prime so long ago as a lot of this music is what I enjoy listening to and of course a lot of the time it's just not practical to see them live, particularly given the fact I live in Oz..
Os caras ficaram melhores com o tempo!
Großartig !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saw them at the Bedford Corn Exchange in the early 80s with (I believe) Victorian Parents. Great show...they were supporting the Sleep No More album.
I love them.
from texas,i love this band,cheers!
Love this. Wish they did song I’m fallin.
Oh hey, thanks for upping this by the way! One of my all-time favouritest bands in any genre. One of my desert island discs, if I can take the whole of “Waiting for...” with me, you get me!
Great drum sound
Thanks. Fantastic.
Veruit Nice to see them agaim.
Still sounds excellent. 👏😎
Nobody told me this was going on!
Saw them play lots from 1979→1982, including the Tour in 1980 that U2 played on the same Bill.
Brighton
October 1980
Dear John John, I witnessed that function as well. As my memory serves me, it was ; "The Top Rank Suite" at the bottom end, or the seaside end of West Street, Brighton. 'U2' were the headline band, and this was the period after the album "Boy", but just before "October" was released. And, as mentioned, "The Comsat Angels" were the "support" group. Mik Glaisher came on with a camouflaged headband, and during the gig a girl heckled S/Fellows, to which he responded, "I'm trying to do a performance here"....??!?
I never saw them in Australia, and I'll probably never get to see them. That really sucks!!
I thought these guys stopped completely!
My mate Terry Todd on bass.
Second time he's replaced KB, if memory serves me correctly.
Gary MacMillan Todd Terry?!? Wasn’t he mixed up with producing early hip-hop or summat?!?
such a great band! only saw the once in Germany a 1000 years ago...but will never ever forget it!! if you want, check out my posting of them playing independence day in 1984. you might like it...thks ThLstWknd!
But I was so much younger then.
