I'm always surprised you aren't riding longer travel in your vids and THEN you post up a vid with David (?) riding his hard tail with his most excellent bike handling skills to boot . WOW ! Thanks!
Nice riding! That trail means business. I was constantly keeping an eye on the trailside trees so I could get a handle on how steep some of those sections really were. Sketchy!
BCpov I know a couple guys that are my age and younger that are the best rippers around that only ride hard tails, one of them being an elite pro xc guy. But hey, as long as we ride mtbs, we all family
hey I got one of those Tioga seats too, actually first I got a cheap Vertu knock off which broke so now a proper one is on the way. you don't use a dropper seat post? Edit: scrap that, you do have a dropper.
I left you criticism awhile back regarding the video that ended on a random group needing help with gasoline. The videos are coming along quite nice. Much more personable in the last few videos. Great job showcasing the bike rack dilemma. Exactly what I think this channel was needing. Keep up the good work!
+mike deeter thanks for the feed back Mike. This video actually happened before than the Della video. Sometimes the circumstances don't allow me to capture the whole story. But maybe i should either leave that out, or talk about it a bit.
Someone else mentioned it, but I love that you sometimes look at the features before of after you ride. The one downside of the incredible quality GoPro offers is that it hides how steep these trails are.
Great vid Eric, that looked relentlessly techy all the way down, especially that section right at the end with the baby head rocks! Great idea to have your mate on the hardtail ride in front as well, he rode like a boss! Really makes a refreshing change to see a good rider tackling gnarly stuff on a hardtail, gonna have to dust my hardtail off now that the weathers turned shitty here in the U.K.
+Neal Slatter ah that's great. Hard tails are great winter bikes! I've definitely gone through a few sets of bearings riding the full sus in the winter
BCpov After living/riding in Indonesia for almost 20 yrs. I'm sure the altitude would kill me (we rarely go higher than 2000m) but the rocks and steeps are what I live for!
Great video as always! I really appreciate the riding you are doing, I like it when you walk up to some of the features you come down it really puts it into perspective! Also buy your friend a beer for me I can't believe he rode a hard tail on this ride... He's crazy!
Stunning views. You guys are so humble and just ride for the fun. Had to watch the whole vid. Amazing!! New subscriber here. To bad some people can’t appreciate how steep that is from the video. That was gnar!!
ha ha, age 61 and legally blind, I think I'll leave that to you! I would love to try something like that but would end up off a cliff somewhere. I'll stick to watching it thru your eyes.
Absolutely love this video. When you mentioned 600m of climbing on top of a shuttle, I thought it sounded like too much climbing. But I’m still half way though the video and you’re still descending! Could you tell us what hardtail your buddy is riding? Incredible views from that trail.
Epic! So thankful for you posting these excellent reference videos for us in the MTB community! What time of year does that trail freeze up? Judging by the butterfly drinking sweat for salt off that helmet I'd say this ride was late July?
Hey BC, just to chime in again. The reason it's rated pro is to be a squirrel catcher. If ridden proper the fatigue will set in plus if you get hurt it's way out there.
I got a Northshore 6 bike raised it a foot up and moved it back with some steel and welds. Now I can flip down tailgate and flip up topper door without doing anything
loved that video, great riding guys and thanks for sharing! so would you say it's worth of a pro line rating, hard to tell on a go pro but it looked more black/double black for the most part with the odd pro line feature.
old vid I know but if your buddy still has that rack he can put the mast one slot higher for more clearance... of course gotta watch stuff like BC ferries if you go max height haha.
+What the hell are you starin' at ! Hrmm.. this ride was a while back. I might have had the dhr ii on at that point. I liked it, though it it wore out fairly quickly.
amazing vids you do. My new favourite thing, watching youtube mtb vids. What bike are you riding, is it the slash, or a remedy? What are your views on 29ers? Cheers!
yea deff. some very tech stuff for sure, and if you go fast at certain sections, you can deff have a really really bad accident and/or even die at certain places on this trail. its so sick! i would loveeee to ride this trail!
Thanks, yeah JTR does look more technical and definitely more exposed. Thanks for your uploads - based in Whistler, I use a lot of your videos to know what I'm getting myself into when going to ride trails like these in the Sea to Sky area and they always make for a much more enjoyable and safer ride.
Thanks for posting this! Always wondered at JTR was like, looks pretty tech and serious. Also huge props to the builders, that trail is pretty far up/out, would have been a bitch to get up there and build such a long trail I would think... wonder if they were moto trials guys? Edit: I found some cool history on the trail on Bikepirate (you can search if this link doesn't show up): www.bikepirate.com/jack-the-ripper/
+hobmarg pretty sure it was Moto trials bikes for access. I'm not sure the exact story, but a guy named Jack originally scooped and possibly cut the line. He passed away, and his buddies completed the trail in his honor.
I'm always surprised you aren't riding longer travel in your vids and THEN you post up a vid with David (?) riding his hard tail with his most excellent bike handling skills to boot . WOW ! Thanks!
+Greg Cook that's Jonathan! He's REALLY good on a bike!
this guy is pretty solid on his hardtail
+roi kombelis that guy is Jonathan!
Nice riding! That trail means business. I was constantly keeping an eye on the trailside trees so I could get a handle on how steep some of those sections really were. Sketchy!
I'll give you a tour next time you're in the area :)
I'll make sure to bring an extra pair of shorts...
Can't believe that guy was on a hard tail!
hardtail, no kneepads and open helmet. that dude is confident, but his riding matches his confidence so hats off
Jonathan is a great rider!
Lol I’m disliking because you did not capitalize that and it was after a period so ya other wise good punctuation
Bearito what the fuck?
@@bearito5509 people like you need to stop worrying about grammar and enjoy the video

the guy with the hardtail has got some serious balls i ride a hard tail but only on trails that are easy my me on my bike
+eric nichols Jonathan is one of the best riders i know! Not sure how he does it!
BCpov I know a couple guys that are my age and younger that are the best rippers around that only ride hard tails, one of them being an elite pro xc guy. But hey, as long as we ride mtbs, we all family
butterflies, flowers and extreme spicy tech - why I subscribed to bcpov :D also +1 hardtail mountain cycling beast guy
+Todd Uncyclist thanks Todd! I do enjoy the flowers!
hey I got one of those Tioga seats too, actually first I got a cheap Vertu knock off which broke so now a proper one is on the way. you don't use a dropper seat post? Edit: scrap that, you do have a dropper.
You consistently produce quality videos that are both entertaining to watch and also informative for scouting purposes. I appreciate it and keep it up

watching your friend in all of your videos with a rigid bike. That's amazing. Technique, as in any other sport, is everything
+What the hell are you starin' at ! Yes, i prefer sports with a good mix of technical skills and speed :)
Great vid Eric, that looked relentlessly techy all the way down, especially that section right at the end with the baby head rocks! A lot of uphill pops on the way down! Looks great out there, bucket list!
+Andrew Rivera yup, trail builder trying to maximize the terrain!
That may be my favorite trail I've seen on RUclips! Great riding!
Thanks Tim, this trail is one of my favourites!

Awesome riding. Love that steep tech stuff.

We certainly do.

Merci Clement, j'essaie de rouler sur les meilleurs sentiers que je connais!
that hardtail guy went BRAAAPPP!!!!
+Mouser Trippy sending it all day long!
That bottom section is crazy and you must be tired from such a long trail, but can't get lazy...
+Paul Burns definitely gotta pay attention in the baby heads
What a view! Gotta love Pemby.
Mt Currie is pretty breathtaking isn't it!
Indeed! Love heading to North Arm farm to pick berries in the summer with the kids. I don't know if that view could get any better?!?
Thanks for the ride. That is the only way I will ever see that trail. LOL. Cool video
+Kris Nordberg haha, never say never!

What a kickass trail! I wanted so bad to ride Pemberton when I was in BC in July but time dictated otherwise :(
Next time. I understand though, there is so much riding everywhere!
just gotta say this is absolute insanity
Love it! haha
That looks so fun
+DEMON 177 love that trail, can't get enough of that one!
I don't know if it's the GoPro settings or your post work, but the color looks great in these.
A bit of a combination of both :) Glad to have people like you take notice :)
It is all about the hardtail!!
BC, this is a sweet trail man.....nice riding BTW !!!
+Monster Vlogster thanks monster!
Thanks for sharing the awesome ride, +1 sub!
Hardtail guy gettin after it!
+Logan Brunton 🤘🤘🤘
Really enjoying your channel. It's becoming one of my favorite RUclips mtb riding channel. What is riding season in BC as in what month to what month?
In the vancouver area, its almost all year as the winteres are pretty mild here. But generally throughout bc, it's more like march to October.
Epic! So thankful for you posting these excellent reference videos for us in the MTB community! What time of year does that trail freeze up? Judging by the butterfly drinking sweat for salt off that helmet I'd say this ride was late July?
+Ray Hyder good, call! This was July long weekend!
It likely saw it's first snow late September, early October.
Hey BC, just to chime in again. The reason it's rated pro is to be a squirrel catcher. If ridden proper the fatigue will set in plus if you get hurt it's way out there.
Yeah, that's what I figured, pretty far from help for sure!
I love riding steep, on a good day at least. keep it up!
+Trail Bike Bebop thanks!
I got a Northshore 6 bike raised it a foot up and moved it back with some steel and welds. Now I can flip down tailgate and flip up topper door without doing anything
+Thim Bales that sounds pretty slick! Do you have some pics?
loved that video, great riding guys and thanks for sharing! so would you say it's worth of a pro line rating, hard to tell on a go pro but it looked more black/double black for the most part with the odd pro line feature.
I'd say generally its double black, but i guess it's somewhat remote, which may up the risk factor a bit. It would be an ordeal to haul someone out.
thank you for putting the temp difference dont know the metric system
haha, no problem!
When you say 630 meters, do you mean distance or vertical rise?
Vertical, or elevation :)
wonderful nature my friend.....congratulations!! is amazing the routes mtb !!! saludos from mexico Go Bikers Mtb
Thanks Omar, thanks for watching!

spicy but looks like alot of fun!
Glad you found this vid! One of my favourites for last year!
JTR on a HT? Buds gonna need a new kidney, but nicely done. It's epic and CP is a great finish.
Cream puff is amazing!
Nice! Good stuff. Looks ripe for pinch flats. What air pressure you run down this?
I run around 20 in the front, maybe 27 in the back? It changes :)
Pemberton B.C is beautiful area also desert like condition id say a dry hot no humidity
It's really a cool place isn't it? Kind of the transition between wet coastal bc and the more arid lillooet, kamloops area!
Holy steep Batman!
+michael sudden thanks, Robin ;)
badass... puts any thing we ride in the NW as tech to shame.. hardtail and no knee pads!!!
Jonathan killed it this ride! One of the best riders I know!
Dude on the hard tail with no armour is bad ass.
4 Friends, one car, 4 bikes, seems like a cool day :)
What rear tyre are you on? and... Are you happy with it?
+What the hell are you starin' at ! Hrmm.. this ride was a while back. I might have had the dhr ii on at that point. I liked it, though it it wore out fairly quickly.
amazing vids you do. My new favourite thing, watching youtube mtb vids. What bike are you riding, is it the slash, or a remedy? What are your views on 29ers? Cheers!
I'm riding a slash in this video!
Leave it to BCPOV to add another trail to my to do list.
:D Have fun out there!
When I grew up we didn't had any suspention at all
hard core! my first mtb was totally rigid as well!
What kind of saddle is that? And can you make a review on it please
pro line for sure
It's up there, hey? That and you're super far away from help on this trail.
yea deff. some very tech stuff for sure, and if you go fast at certain sections, you can deff have a really really bad accident and/or even die at certain places on this trail. its so sick! i would loveeee to ride this trail!
It’s safe to say that trail is beyond my current riding skills!
+Daniel Thomson haha! One day, keep it up!
is there bears about and do they freak you out?
+taius20 they are around, but they're not really a problem. Black bears are really unlikely to attack. Grizzlies are a bit more scary, but rare.
How is this trail best accessed? Thanks, Chris
You can shuttle a bunch of the way up, or you can climb middle earth.
@@BCpov ok thanks. Shuttle up Mackenzie FSR ? All the way up to Xtratron? Do I need a 4 WD for that?
very nice, excellent speed at 13:00 ! how many time for this d- ?
Thanks!, For this d- ? I don't understand?
i am sorry, in french d- is negative level, thanks.
Between this and Gargamel, apart from JTR being longer, which trail did you find more challenging?
Good question.. Gargamel is shorter.. id say JTR is probably a little more challenging.

Great video man! What kind of software do you use for editing?
Hey Elias, I use Davinci Resolve.
I like the video nice.

How you liking that Slash?
+Ken P slash is good :) Just the main pivot bearings go too fast
Hardtail Hardman !
Jonathan kills it!
Nice trails, good job #skillz
Thanks Rhins Ranger!
whats that bike rack? i havent seen one like that, i need a solution like that for my jeep
+DBFM Entertainment that's a North shore rack but i recommend the recon rack.
trail looks amazing but I'm not sure about proline. Maybe because it's so long and sustained?
Thanks for posting this! Always wondered at JTR was like, looks pretty tech and serious. Also huge props to the builders, that trail is pretty far up/out, would have been a bitch to get up there and build such a long trail I would think... wonder if they were moto trials guys?

Él es tan bueno ¿no?
BCpov increíble. Cómo endurero, de lo mejor que he visto !! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Yeah !!!!
What is the size of the chromag hardtail rim 29 or 27.5? hug
Hey Alex, Jonathans bike is a 29er
That wheel is out of true by a lot or just bent? 33:15
Yo yo yo, what brand is the hard tail?
Hey Brett, Jonathan was on a chromag rootdown
Are you doing any colorgrading?
+2trail yes i am
Nice Trail in a beautiful landscape with magnificent views ! Unfortunately the goprp dosent tell the truth about steepness. I like that stuff !
Hello I want to know the best full suspension bike for a beginner?
Do you what bike Jonathan has? Company, model name and or fork travel? :D
He's got a chromag rootdown and i think a fox 36, 160mm
29" or 27.5"? He is rippin'!
how long did this whole decent take?
hrm, probably about an hour?
Hardtail with no pads - ya bud
+keehotee Jonathan sends it!
Far left bike had the fattest tire looked deadly you get good traction and for what condition looks like a mud tire
at the start there? I think james was riding an aggressor on the back that day and a magic mary on the front.

Really on a trail like this you need a 10" travel downhill bike or a 12" travel motocross bike.
Haha! I did it with 6"!
Looks like a torture trail.
Maybe a little :)
