Haha, she's a tough cookie :) She has another crash during the trip and my reaction was pretty similar. ☺ If its obvious shes not okay, my reaction would be different!
Your videos are the only ones that are so long but I can watch completely without getting bored, lose interest or lose atention! Great stuff! Looks super fun! Love Japan too! :)
Never would've thought I could watch a 30 minute mtb video but I sure was wrong. I couldn't stop watching this, the trails look so amazing and the sounds never get old. It's 2am but I'm itching to go ride tomorrow now! Can't wait for the rest of this series.
Just found your channel, subscribed immediately. Japan, mountain bikes, wonderful trails and relaxed mood = total win! Can't wait to catch up to Japan videos and all the rest :) Best wishes from Finland!
Oh man.. i had no idea half pipe trails existed before I got there. It's not really talked about in the videos. And they're all over japan! Glad you enjoyed the map! Just wanna give some context as to where in japan we went.
BC, another awesome video man...SUPER jealous you can ride with your other half, only a dream for some people.....thanks for sharing as always man, it is truly appreciated =D
Looks like some kick ass ridin! And thanks for the shuttle story, I thoroughly enjoy that cultural/area side story stuff. So cool. Can't wait for more!👍
Great video. Those trails are so awesome, esp the half pipe trails. I would have to name one of them Trench Run lol. I could ride those for a week and not get tired of them. The woods remind me a lot of what we have in East Tennessee too.
Recently subscribed to your site after watching the Mexico ride with Luis (guy's awesome!) Then found some of your Japan ride videos. (been to most shown in your other Jpn vids. Some critical comments from locals!) I live in Japan and ride MTB all over. I have been to Takamine many times! Actually, I prefer that back trail more then the actually course. Last time I went I did 1 course and 5 down the natural trail! (climbed back up to the last set of stairs) Keep the vids coming, so fun! Love to ride when you get to Japan again! (went to Fujiten last weekend!) There is a new one in Odawara called "Forest Bike" with a new "Ninja Trail" been a couple times, super fun trail!
Usually I don't have half an hour for a youtube video, in this case I had to make an exception. Quite nice flow in this trails, I would love to hit that. I miss riding my bike, may the spring come already.
Very cool trails and great video. So just checking... are these half-pipe like trails old walking/trade trails that developed over a long time or are they more naturally forming from water runoff etc? Can't wait for the rest of the series. Good one.
Always struck me as kinda odd that the world's largest manufacturer of mountain bike parts doesn't actually have that many mountain bike riders. Great video!
Chatting with the locals...nice! So, how do you secure your gimbal/camera? When I do jumps or drops with my EVO/Hero 4 mounted with a GoPro Chesty harness, I get a lot of camera wobble. ☹️
Hi there.. Saw ur video very nice place.. N u said in the video ur fren the tour guide he travel from tokyo to takamine by train? Cause i try to check there is not train going there.
The uswe backpack is awesome. This is my 3rd one. My only problem I've had is that I threw one in the washing machine once.. and it came out with large holes in it.. I learnt that lesson the hard way.
I had seen a few videos about it in the past, so I was always a bit interested. My wife is Japanese so I was always keen to visit japan with her. After doing a bit of research we found that there is quite a bit of riding, it's just that all the websites and info is in Japanese.
Not sure if I'd want to do those steps with my hardtail xD Really nice riding! Unrelated question: Do you have any plans or aspirations to meet up with guys like singletrack sampler and seth's bike hacks in the future?
I'd love to meet up with those guys! I've recently purchased a van that I'm converting into a camper. Hopefully I can go on a tour and meet all those guys! I did just head out for a ride with Jordan Boostmaster last weekend! There will be a vid of that one :)
BCpov I've been looking into the 'van life' as well recently. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to do it, but it does really appeal to me as a life style as well as I find it so interesting how people build these tiny homes on the go! I hope it enables you to do even more than you're already doing :)
Next level Bru, there are so many destinations you would never imagine sweet trails being on. Do you think I would struggle going there without knowing any of the Japanese language?
I think you'd be fine for the most part. A lot of times you have to register ahead of time to visit these bike parks and the websites are often in Japanese. But google translate works well enough to get you by. And every once in a while you'll find someone that speaks some english, like what happened on this day. I've definitely traveled japan before without my wife and it all worked out and made for some fun situations.
BCpov hahaha those tough situation are the best part of traveling for me because they are the parts you remember the most. Thanks for the info dude, I'm in the east next month but Thailand but I defs wanna get out to Japan someday so I'm watching fondly.
Japan, despite having a totally 'alien' language to us Westeners, is probably one of the easiest and definitely the most friendly country I've ever traveled. Honestly I get lost on the London underground more than I did on any of Japan's subway systems, and unlike London, absolutely anyone you stop will try their hardest to help you out even if they don't speak a lick of English. Everyone should go to Japan at least once - it's a truly wonderful country.
Same here. I'm a moron when it comes to navigating the London underground and I have to use it for work a few times a month. But I had no problem whatsoever using the subway and the regular train lines. Japan is an amazing place.
Holy sh!t, u took ur bike with u on a japanese train in motherfuckin' TOKYO!!!???? Fuckin' hell, I've never been there but I've seen multiple docus that showed those damn things so cramped with ppl that I wouldn't even wanna ride them WITHOUT a bike to take with me!
Oh man. Yeah, at least it was night so it wasn't as busy. But on the way home my wife and I both had our bikes on the trains. I think we annoyed a few people with that train ride!
Hey guys, thanks for watching! Next week's video is available now for Patrons! Head over to www.patreon.com/BCpov
Haha, she's a tough cookie :) She has another crash during the trip and my reaction was pretty similar. ☺ If its obvious shes not okay, my reaction would be different!
Hi can you guide me for that ride I want to go there
She always makes the funniest sounds when riding/wiping out I love it lolol
Your videos are the only ones that are so long but I can watch completely without getting bored, lose interest or lose atention! Great stuff! Looks super fun! Love Japan too! :)
Never would've thought I could watch a 30 minute mtb video but I sure was wrong. I couldn't stop watching this, the trails look so amazing and the sounds never get old. It's 2am but I'm itching to go ride tomorrow now! Can't wait for the rest of this series.
Hah! Glad you enjoyed it! Have fun out there!
Those hikers were stoked to see you guys!
Haha, those guys were awesome. Such a good moment. In Japan, people are so interested in you. All you have to do is say hi and they really open up!
Loved that part
Lived on Okinawa for 1.5 years. Roads there are just as small. Mt.Fuji, when the cloud cover clears , is a sight to behold.
We reaaaallly wanted to see Okinawa this trip but unfortunately all our time was filled by riding!
Now I don't only wanna go to Japan for the culture and skiing, now mtb too!
It's got everything! I'd love for skiing to be my next trip!
Absolutely awesome. The interaction with those hikers was priceless! One of my favourite MTB POV vids to date!
Thanks so much woods! Yeah, those hikers were great! I think mtb is still kinda unknown in japan
Much respect for the road and trail builder. Thanks for including that in the narrative.
Thanks Daniel, it's fun to include some non-riding stuff in the vids :)
24:52 Whoa! Great video as always, looking forward for the rest of this series :)!
so cool right? More half pipe trails coming up!
Those flow rolls @ 11:00 look like a real fun time, i could session those for a while!!
Totally! If you go too fast its a bit of a harsh landing, fun to pump through though!
This series is much needed! Loving it, keep killing it!
Thanks Travis! Will do!
That's like the perfect couple's shot, spot @ 16:50 ! You even had someone there to take the photo!
Just found your channel, subscribed immediately. Japan, mountain bikes, wonderful trails and relaxed mood = total win!
Can't wait to catch up to Japan videos and all the rest :) Best wishes from Finland!
Glad you found it! Still a bunch more Japan coming!
That was epic! Keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing more from Japan.
Thanks! I'll keep it up!
I loved the reaction of those hikers! That was priceless and very wholesome. This series is going to be awesome! Stokeeed
Haha, I loved them too as well. I didn't get the full translation until my wife helped me with the video. So fun!
Maybe your best video yet! Love the terrain there, trails are good!!
Thanks Grant!
Damn, Japan looks legit AF. Can't wait to see more.
Totes legit AF. So fun out there!
Really great video dude, loved the shuttle piece; that thing is crazy!
+Chris_327 thanks Chris! I really enjoyed the shore as well!
Stoked for this series! That fire road would have had me walking!
Haha, I really enjoyed that ride. Everything in Japan fits into small places.
BCpov Minimalist? Hahaha!
Me too
Love the map work! Another banger of a vid Eric! Love your work.
Man these trails are insane. We need some of this joy in BC!
Oh man.. i had no idea half pipe trails existed before I got there. It's not really talked about in the videos. And they're all over japan!
Glad you enjoyed the map! Just wanna give some context as to where in japan we went.
BCpov we need some half pipe trails for sure. Ive never ridden anythi g like it. They look absolutely amazing. Flow heaven.
Cool ! I found it interesting to see these japan trails. Good job !
Thank Cesar!
The way those berms go back and forth, like switchbacks, remind me of the dual slaloms at mammoth mountain.
Whaaaa! You were flying on that thing! What a fun trail.
+RideLabs was such a good day!
BC, another awesome video man...SUPER jealous you can ride with your other half, only a dream for some people.....thanks for sharing as always man, it is truly appreciated =D
No problem! Definitely feel lucky that I found someone I can ride with, even though I converted her ;) She loves it too though!
Awesome to hear man, keep up the awesome content!
Making your suspension earn its keep on those stairways.
Really loved this video, looking forward to the rest of this series :)
Haha, thanks aljowen! a few of them were surprises for sure under all that leaf litter!
Those are some sweet trails. Can't wait for the next vid!
Next friday, or now for patrons!
Wow this is what I've been waiting for!!
Finally! Haha, lots more to come!
So cool! Loved the video! Makes me want to get back to Japan!
Highly recommended!
Oh man, i love it! this whole series is going to be great
Glad you're enjoying it!
Looks like some kick ass ridin! And thanks for the shuttle story, I thoroughly enjoy that cultural/area side story stuff. So cool. Can't wait for more!👍
Thanks Gonzo, I try to include some extra non bike related stuff for context :)
That shuttle road is AWESOME!! hahah. I love Japan, never MTB'd there but this makes me want to.
:D More stuff which is even BETTER still to come!
I love the older folk you found on the trail! So friendly!
Haha, they were the best! Loved that we got a little glimpse into their group dynamics :)
It's cool you and your wife can ride together, she is a shredder!
I'm super happy about that too. It took a bit of time to get into a good place, but it was all worth it.. I should make a video about it!
Great video. Those trails are so awesome, esp the half pipe trails. I would have to name one of them Trench Run lol. I could ride those for a week and not get tired of them. The woods remind me a lot of what we have in East Tennessee too.
Good job on the subtitles dude, I bet that took a long time. I really enjoyed your race diaries, btw.
Oh man, the subs suuuuck to make, but I need to do it so my wife can translate to Japanese for our friends over there.
Very cool trip! Hope to make it there someday!
Definitely give it a try!
Thanks for not saying sick every 5 seconds! Great video

The trails are cool, but the real treat in this video are all the beautiful Japanese people. They're so considerate and mellow.
Yeah, the Japanese are super chill! They're almost too nice!
Love your Videos Bro! Nice Work!
Thanks Brandon!
@ 20:15, the bike on top of the car, that wasn’t by chance a Chromag Samurai?
Loving the videos, keep up the good work, arigatou gozaimashita.
I think it was actually! That's Daisuke's other bike!
Usually I don't have half an hour for a youtube video, in this case I had to make an exception. Quite nice flow in this trails, I would love to hit that. I miss riding my bike, may the spring come already.
+Smowling thanks for watching, i know my vids have been pretty long lately!
Jeez I just discovered this channel and it's AMAZING!!!
Thanks man!
some pretty dope trails, love to get to Japan one day!
It's the most fun place to travel, love it!
Dude, that fall. Man that came outta no where! 🤘
haha, it's kind of a hiking trail? Not too many people riding that one i suppose!
Man! Video is Sick!
Japan has some nice trails.
I'm in Hawaii right now so I'm definitely gonna fly out there and hit those.
Pretty close for you!
loved this...from 27:30 on I was wondering how you knew where to go...lol
Ah, it was just one trail, no forks if I remember!
BCpov ya..but the foliage!
Hah, it was probably better in person :)
Great video brother, must be wild over there
+Juan G thanks! It's so fun over there!
Nice trails and nice video. Keep up the good work. 😊
Thanks Grave! Will do!
Great looking place, awesome vid!
Thanks Flyn! Japan was amazing, so many vids coming!

BCpov ha! Thanks for the response on Instagram!
Wicked vid bro!!nice ride koodos 😊
Thanks J!
What a gentleman! 1:20
Very cool trails and great video. So just checking... are these half-pipe like trails old walking/trade trails that developed over a long time or are they more naturally forming from water runoff etc?
Can't wait for the rest of the series. Good one.
Hey Benjamin, they actually develop from people long ago dragging larges stones and logs and the trails. Over time they become the "Half-pipe" shape!
Very cool to think of the history that goes into making these unique trails. Keep up the great work, I'm loving the channel.
Beautiful country for ride
+duiwan mtb and stance i loved it!
Always struck me as kinda odd that the world's largest manufacturer of mountain bike parts doesn't actually have that many mountain bike riders. Great video!
Yeah, i know, right? They make fishing gear too, lots of that in Japan!
Nakatsugawa gifu japan? Is that correct Bc?
Actually its north of tokyo, Sakuragawa
Chatting with the locals...nice! So, how do you secure your gimbal/camera? When I do jumps or drops with my EVO/Hero 4 mounted with a GoPro Chesty harness, I get a lot of camera wobble. ☹️
hey ron, i actually use a uswe pack which cinches it down perfectly
Great thanks...these packs look great!
Hi there.. Saw ur video very nice place.. N u said in the video ur fren the tour guide he travel from tokyo to takamine by train? Cause i try to check there is not train going there.
hey berd, he drives his car. The Mazda in the video.
MAN those looked fun.
How does your gopro keep the battery level for soo lobg on 4k qual wirthout overheat?!
You need to keep pedalling fast to keep it cool :p
You know, I've never had an overheating issue.
But when I ride i bring many batteries with me.
You joke, but retiring in Japan and making trails seems like the best idea ever.
Loved the strava bit...
haha! never happened if its not on strava!
Are all mountain bikes dual suspension nowadays? I want one w/o suspension, I'm not used to it.
今までに無い面白さ。
チャンネル登録しました❗
どうもありがとうございました!
What's the model of your trek bike?
Great video! You sell the Slash?
I'll have a video about what happened to the slash in a few weeks!
Wow bro awesome trails very challenging at times, wonder if mountain bike rider BKXC has been there yet.
Not yet! I actually asked if he wanted to come, but we didn't have a solid schedule.
Camo Dude MTB&H nope!
BCpov That would have been awesome if he could have made it. You'll now have to come up with a plan to top it! Good luck 👍
Really cool to see Japanese trails! Any bad sides about the uswe backpack btw?
The uswe backpack is awesome. This is my 3rd one. My only problem I've had is that I threw one in the washing machine once.. and it came out with large holes in it.. I learnt that lesson the hard way.
Oh wow, never thought that would be the only bad side ;D Thanks for the info, been thinking of getting one!
Siii!! Está buenísimo!!!
¡Gracias!
Hi, love so much your video. How much does it cost to have this kinda bike trip?
+Erfano Bhakti I'll make a video about how to do this trip at the end of the series. I'll put costs in as well.
BCpov wonderful bro 👍🏻
Very cool. Is this your first trip to Japan?
I've been 2x before, but this is my first time with the bike. :)
I would never have thought Japan was so into mountain biking. I always thought mountain biking was more of a western sport.
I had seen a few videos about it in the past, so I was always a bit interested. My wife is Japanese so I was always keen to visit japan with her. After doing a bit of research we found that there is quite a bit of riding, it's just that all the websites and info is in Japanese.

Japan looks great, is it an expensive country to visit and get around ?
+Doove59 i think the most expensive part is getting around. At the end of the series I'll do a video about doing a trip like this.
Nice video i like trek slash
I like the slash too!
I need to go...
It's a fine idea!
What bike is this? Trek Top Fuel 9.9?
Sick video! Would love to bike Japan 🇯🇵
Sick🤘🏼
Thanks Mark!

I should learning to my exams and you put 30min video , I must watch it !
You need a break, you've been working hard!
I agree with the first part :p

👍😀
someone else gets the impression that Japanese people are very kind, especially grandparents.
最高ですね
動画楽しみにしてます。
日本人の方に見ていただいているなんて嬉しいです!まだまだジャパンMTBシリーズ続きますので、そちらも楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。
nicevideo‼
すごくいい‼
ありがとうございました!
Does your wife race enduro with you? She should. That would be awesome to see her race at a race with you.
+TC Downhill she did actually race an Enduro work me in Japan, unfortunately it was during a typhoon, so i couldn't film :(
BCpov
Well hopefully we can see you both race. I think she will do great!!
Have you retired?
Wife is a shredder. :D
Hehe, she rocks!
BCpov don’t take this the wrong way but I love her. She seems like a small lady but rides like a boss!
Good shit. I’m pretty jealous of your girl. Mine stops at every rock and walks.
+Private Account just gotta support and encourage her. She'll get better!
I like how you just watch your girl face plant while you causally continue putting on your gloves....who says chivalry is dead? lol
lol, she's tough. :D
Man!!! Those steps would have rattled your bike apart with too much riding!
haha, totally!
where is your new evil??
This is before that video I think.
This video is before I got the Evil! All will be revealed in a few videos!
やー、いいなー
Nice, though I only ride alone. My in-laws doesn't allow my Japanese wife on any 2 wheelers
Thats too bad, it's so fun, and mostly healthy!
カッコいい!
Btw, I love when bystanders get all excited about things I do or like.
Oh man. Yeah, at least it was night so it wasn't as busy. But on the way home my wife and I both had our bikes on the trains. I think we annoyed a few people with that train ride!
Screw Strava! I don't trust it if I going too fast! Lol 😛
I like it mostly for having a record of different rides ive done. Like a diary i guess!
BCpov I look at Stava like a diary also. It's obviously good for mapping 🤙
