- The backstory of Red Hood and how Batman revived him using Lazarus Pit and how it impacted his life and became a hero.
I recorded all red hood scenes from Gotham Knights using my gaming PC. I then heavily edited all the raw footage in a synthetic story telling way to recap the backstory of Red Hood and how Batman saved and revived him in the past. All raw footage were recorded and edited by me.

One thing I think this game does masterfully is it shows the different dynamics between all the members of the bat family I think it's very well done I appreciate the way that red hood is given more humanity and more of a big brother to the team and he definitely is more character development
Dick is older by age, but dying and resurrecting made Jason look older. It's great they kept in mind that the experiences we have in life alter our appearance even more so than how many years we've collected.
Actually, in the comics, if I recall correctly, the Lazarus pit made Jason age slower and healed all the physical trauma ( while enhancing the mental ones)
@@WannabeWryter That's what chemicals like what the Lazarus Pit is made of do to you. Think of it like taking crack and whiskey together, they mess with your mind like crazy.
Lazarus Pit was basically steroids for his muscle development

I think the thing this version of Jason gets right is that he isn’t just angry and violent. He’s always been one of the smartest characters he just couldn’t control his emotions
I like to think that his being angry is part of his healing journey. It means he is processing the traumas and is being allowed to react to them. It also means that he is in a safe space, like allowing himself to be vulnerable, especially with the other Batfam.
This version of Jason Todd took me a minute to get used to but now I think I might actually prefer him to the Arkham Knight version. Bigger, brawling, less maniacally arrogant, more haunted but calm… I hope this version of Todd gets a set up.
If I'm not mistaken, it's actually how he is in the comics nowadays. More calm, less arrogant, not on a killing spree, he even uses rubber bullets and a crowbar I think
But yeah, seeing Todd being "okay" with what happen to him and being the big brother of the Family with Dick is wholesome
Because Arkham Knight Jason was tortured: psychologically and physically by the Joker. He would have him healed just enough only to tortured him some more. He would keep his ankles broken to make sure he wouldn't run away. At some point had inmates dressed like Batman to fuel resentment towards Batman.
He wasn't arrogant or maniac. He was just angry and riddled with grief of being abandoned in Arkham to torture and replaced. His anger over the possibility of Batman being so close to saving him B:AA but didn't because he thought Jason was dead and had a "new" Robin by that point.
Of course he was angry, he got "saved" by Deathstroke but not out of mercy or empathy. Jason rescued himself by buying him out and hitting him in his pride via 1-v-1 with Batman. The amount he stole from Bruce would be a drop in the bucket for someone so filthy rich like Bruce.
He had no time but to heal and get ready to for a fight that Joker manipulated him into thinking he wanted.
His rage was justified. So I'll repeat, he wasn't manaic or arrogant. Just angry and filled with grief.
Besides, I prefer that Jason over the one being dumped in the green jello of doom.
Edit: I forgot to add this little factoid. Jason endured all that torture for almost 2 years (1.5 yrs maybe?). A significant amount of time for him to lose some sanity at least.

I completely disagree but I’m okay with it because he needs to be a team member for this game to work.
This continues to prove that Alfred is still Bruce’s other dad and unofficial grandfather to the bat group.

What the hell are you on about? Alfred legally adopted Bruce Wayne as a child and raised him, and regularly calls Bruce his son when they are alone. He nearly killed Superman in Injustice with his bare hands because he was protecting his precious bat baby who had broken all his ribs in his arm!! Alfred is literally the legal grandfather of Damian Wayne and any other children Bruce Wayne has legally adopted that aren't biological. Alfred is literally the Gotham Knight's Grandpa and Batman's dad!!

Idk why but the scene with Jason being a big brother to Tim is just too cute! Its like 2 brothers building a bike or installing a PC together!
That and then seeing Jason down and babs being there when he's broken was good too like this is a great family with real emotions I can't wait to play this

He’s not the oldest, but he’s got much more life experience under his belt. Death experience too lol. I hope they give this big Jason his own set up.

I loved how the mentioned a lot about Jason’s death and the affects it had on him made him the main character
Jason was the perfect choice for the final mission. They put effort into Red Hood for this game. Say what you will about how bad Gotham Knights is, they did THIS part right, at least.
Showing the entire bat family finding their own way to show Jason they’re here is dope. Great depth here
When he says “brought me back” he’s speaking figuratively. If you meet up with Talia as Red Hood, it confirms that the League was who revived Red Hood
Yo, I was not expecting to tear up during the Alfred scene. This portrayal of Jason really was well done, despite how well the game did.
And not just that one, the chemistry between the Bat family is so genuine and loving, I really love it.
I think the depiction of Batfamily in this game is the closest to comic iterations than any other works
@@dafaqu694 Yeah, I totally agree. In most of the media outside of comics, they really like to make Dick darker, and edgier than he is in the comics. The game really captures Dick's humor, and optimism, but he is still capable of being serious, when he needs to be. Just like in the comics. ;)

This version of Jason Todd shows why he's better than his "Arkham Series" counterpart.
He has more humanity, he acts like a big brother, and the effects of the Lazarus Pit and Joker have lost their effects on him (which makes him more stable and likable).
Arkham Jason has way more baggage emotionally and most importantly is nowhere near as into his growth as a character than this Jason. Simple comparison Arkham Jason was still in his redhood rogue phase, this jason is in the fold and had more time to process

@@deadnews1231 both went through extremely traumatic events, I'm just highlighting that each character are at different places on the character development race track, Gotham nights Jason has had several years and the family there to help him recover Arkham Jason thought he had been discarded and been steeped in mental illness for years and is only now beginning to become an antihero instead of a mentally ill militia leader. Both are still interesting characters I'm not saying one is worse than the other just naturally Gotham knights is going to be more likeable because of the place he is in for his development.
They show Jason isn't just a brute,he's emotionally intelligent and far wiser than he appears.

Batman was born when Bruce Wayne's parents were killed, if he were to kill he would become Joe Chill he would be the gun that killed his parents. His pov isn't wrong, if anything it's the same value as Jason's a point of view cannot be objectively right or wrong unless it's coming from like I don't fucking know, God. But like no one man should have the power to take life as he chooses to Batman as that's the power that took his parents from him. If he were to kill goons like red hood does it's like inflicting the same trauma on their children, the goons in let's say BvS have kids, the goons he fights on screen have kids just look at BTAS. It wouldn't make sense for someone who's entire childhood was taken away by murder to be commiting murder.
He killed for like one year in the 40s because the character he was based off of killed and used guns, there wasn't any nuance to him back then. Im not saying he's objectively right and Jason is wrong, both their pov's have merits but context is key. It makes sense for the character, Jason never underwent the same trauma Bruce did so he doesn't have those same qualms against killing. Batman being a murderer isn't Batman, that's Punisher in a fucking bat suit.

Jason always trusted Alfred more than anyone else. While everyone just saw the troubled kid who needed help, Alfred saw him as part of the family, no strings attached.
Every scene of Jason with Barbara or Tim is a masterpiece tbh. I love how they bring out the hurt, depth, and regret out of Jason. It also gives so much more meaning towards his redemption in the eyes of Gotham, Batman, and himself

Jason’s relationship with Bruce always felt the most like a father son duo. Jason really had no one but Bruce in the beginning and then became a family with the rest of the crew. Yea he’s a little rough around the edges sometimes but he went through literal hell and back. Also this game has its issues but the issue it doesn’t have is giving us a great bat family dynamic we don’t really see that much in other forms of media

The end really makes me think about my own Dad, who passed away several years ago. 😔 I know it's just a game, but it's nice seeing the bat fam together remembering Bruce (and also seeing them work together even without him).
The way that the story is set up and how Bruce is brought back it does feel like a red hood story

Bruce never resurrected Jason, that was all Talia's doing. The League only knew legend of the pit being able to resurrect the dead, which would later be tested on Jason's corpse.
In this game apparently Bruce did use the Lazarus pit to revive Jason, so this an alternate universe

Not sure about how I feel about Todd sort of looking like the younger brother of Bane but the acting here is good.
You know, in the comics Jason is the heaviest member of the Batfam cononically. He is heavier than Batman. Jason have always been a big dude. For refrence in the comics Jason is 6ft, 225 lbs, Batman is 6'2ft, 210 lbs. NIghtwing is 5'10, 175.
So yeah, I'm happy that designers didn't ignored canon.
Maybe it’s me but I don’t like the design for Jason. It’s just not the look for me. Something closer to the Dexter Soy version. Add the white stripe like Soy’s Dark Multiverse: Hush version onto his Rebirth version and that would be perfect. Longer hair, slightly leaner

Jason to me always was held back by Batman this was due to him being younger than Dick Grayson I guess though in ways it wasn't only the only thing it was because I think Bruce so something of himself in Jason at the beginning and though things changed as they do I don't doubt the two still had a chance to be like father and son which probably brought Jason back to normality slightly edger but he oddly respected those values Batman taught him from his own point of view he was a hero but also shows that his not like Batman but he still cares and values what is right the hard way a turning point but a hero of sorts?
Batman and his children his raise to value the greater good even those who didn't even deserve it shall pay but he'll give anyone a chance to either fight or see the errors of their ways often it can lead to prison or something else but in Jason case seeing his own give up their life's of being killed before his eyes deserve some more chance a repreve to put right to be a hero a better man not prefect but something different a anti hero he'll walk the line of hero a little more than Batman but with spirit of heart of his family and Bruce Wayne cheering him on no doubt? Good always deserve a chance to shine like a star?

Batman didn’t revive Jason. Ra's al Ghul did, because he felt bad that Joker killed and took Jason away from Bruce. Ra’s literally turned into robber lol. He took Jason’s dead body, switched it with a dummy, and brought him back from the dead.
Red Hood doesn’t just have all the training Batman gave him while he was Robin, he was also trained by the League Of Shadows. Jason is arguably the most dangerous of the Bat family (even more so than Batman himself).

I was so confused about why it was there of all places too.
The flag is just kinda there in that section on the Belfry. Tim and Dick are both bi in the game and there's an email chain where they discuss going to pride. That's why it's there.

They are misinterpreting things. In the game, it is said several times that Talia brought him back with the Lazarus pit and made him her general.

Cap as hell. Game's great outside of the frame rate on console and a few minor annoyances like the slow bike. If it were a steady 30 frames, I wouldn't even mind it, but it dips when zipping around the city at times. Otherwise, everything else is pretty good.
