@4:10 Jimmy says that Glen Campbell had 5 vocal octaves. Hard to believe. Isn't 3 octaves more like it? Sure, he could sing falsetto for those high harmonies on those Beach Boy tunes, but.... I do believe there is strong evidence for his voice getting deeper with age. And he is still my favorite singer of all time. What tone!
El Mirage was an album of beautiful memorable tunes..I for one do not know why "Mixed Up Guy" was not a monster hit!!it had the right groove, arrangement, production, vocals..I've been loving that tune for going on almost 50 years now.
So what composers do you like to listen to? For me Jimmy is right up there with Billy Joel..David /Bacharach....Lennon/McCartney... Brian Wilson Goffin/King....Mann/Weil Jimmy Buffet.....Holland-Dozier-Holland...Smokey Robinson....Stevie Wonder.....Paul Simon ....."Jim Webb Sings Jim Webb" are just a collection of demos, not at all near the finished product.

Every time I hear Glen Campbell sing Galveston, I lose it. Webb and Campbell: phenomenal.

I'd place Mr. Webb, Mr. Wonder, and Messrs. Burt Bacharach & Hal David in a tier slightly above the others cited.
