  • After building the rover 3.9, my future plans for the supercharger happened quicker than I planned thanks to “fitduster”. Once again this was first attempt at starting. As before timing and fuelling were still a guess as before.

This is carburated, can the charger work on an EFI system, the 3.9L

Yes, it was the rover su carbs only as that’s all I had at the time, it was then swapped for a Holley 4 barrel when it arrived. I’ve since swapped it again for the super sniper efi system

@@SouthernSteve73 am.lookong to charge my 3.9, what would you recommend seeing as your a step ahead with the builds? Can you hook someone up? What would be the cost?

@@dennismbera7907 it all depends exactly what you want, technically a pro charger can give you the best results for all out power, but if you want a more traditional blower, then a twin screw is more efficient but I personally just wanted an old roots style with the 4barrel on top as it’s capable of plenty of power and nothing else compares in terms of style. I can certainly help you with advice or parts, or even the work. You can always send me a message on fb

Thanks, what I want is to increase air intake and tinker with fuel myself, so any charger that can give me twice the air volume or 3 times would be good for me to couple with the EFI system.

Where did you buy the charger what model is it ??

I spent what felt like months looking to find the roots style with the carbs on top so it poked out the bonnet. Nearly everything I found was twin screw, although there are more effective, it’s not the look I wanted. When I finally come across the Detroit blower I found everything I wanted so a 5 minute search brought me to a guy on here, #fitduster. I eventually managed to speak with him and took a 3.5h drive just to look at it, basically to see if there was anything I needed to know. I ended up bringing it home. :D. It’s a Detroit 6v71

@@kwalelalipimile9245 thank you, funnily enough, I have just got home from removing my old v6 and starting to fit this. Didn’t take any videos yet but I have some pics I’ll make into a short slide show and post them in the next hour or 2

@@SouthernSteve73 what are you putting it into? i kinda wanna see range rover classic with a bug catcher on the hood.. isnt it a bit overkill though? that blower looks like 6-71 id imagine a 4-71 is suitable enough if youre not into racing. and what fuel management are you on classic carburettor or those new hollety efi

@@v8vince761 your not far off, it’s a Mitsubishi shogun, there’s other videos on my channel showing it being fitted and some testing. It’s my daily drive and there will be more to come when I get chance.
