I have watched the mummers my whole entire life until recently when I moved to Kentucky thank the gods that I found phl17 live feed because I was able to watch it this year and this performance was awesome. You rocked it SPSB
About time, well done all around, especially the music was the best this year, just enough of the sax runs so one could enjoy the songs being played. Good luck in 2017, let's not wait another 41 years, I may not be around, God Bless.
wow, amazing! The day of the dead tradition in Mexico is very important and serves to remind our family and friends that they have died and celebrate life.
Did that really just happen??? Why do I feel alienated from a group I NEVER knew existed until Billy Rhoda hipped me to them??? I feel my Saxophone playing, as well as my Mexican-ness, is being called upon.
I live in Arizona now but remember the parade well. I was very distressed to here that some of the participants were using this Historic tradition to promote hatred and bigotry. My Grandfather, who played Banjo in the greater Kensington string band for over 40 years, would be so ashamed. I commend the organizers for cracking down. Proud to be from K&A ,Ascension of our lord Parish.
The trouble doesn't happen in the String bands. It's the comics. I think it's a shame the whole parade is getting backlash for it. These guys/ girls have real talent.

Did they get tired of Fralinger winning? :) This was a really good SFSB show, but Fralinger was top notch musically as always. I would have given it to them. Good job nonetheless!
+Salfademas Without a doubt Fralinger was hurt by their early position in the parade, but keep in mind that SPSB finish 1st in 3 of the 5 catagories, where as Franlinger finished 1st in only one, their music.
Years ago when I lived in Philly there wasn't 1 year that went by I saw the mummers day parade but now I live in Florida so I watch the Macy's Day parade on TV Ed
salfademas fralinger was really good and if they would of went up later i still think SPSB was better there was alot of years where SPSB shouild of won got robbed
what happened??? Day of the Dead playing an Italian popular song?? Great costumes; bad music choice...AND if they were trying to pick up the 'latin' flare, island music'...it's still not the Day of the Dead!!,
