Our 30 plus year old Vitamix 5000 is still going strong. Simple off/on switch and variable speed knob has served us well.
I just inherited my grandma's old vitamix. It doesn't have a model # as far as I can tell.
It looks just like the 5200, only its an off white and says "vitamix total nutrition center"
Just did my first blend on a partially homemade verde sauce. The thing is a boss!
Love you, grandma. You'll always be with me. And for now in the kitchen too.
My Vitamix doesn't especially have Model # or series. It was the only one available at the time. It is all 33 years ago and all metal. The selling points were a Lifetime warranty, it was shown to be so durable that it could turn wooden toy blocks into sawdust. A reversing motor, and that the speed of the blades heat the contents (soup, etc.) that is poured through the attached spout. Also using ice cubes, it freezes the contents into ice cream. I used my Vitamix to grind my grain into flour. Then the Vitamix would turn added ingredients together to make bread after kneading it.
All in all, it was a great Wedding present, and shows no sign of problems. But with a Lifetime warranty shows that they put pride in their workmanship.
I finally got a vitamix, FOR FREE! My grandmother passed about a year ago. I moved into her place with my aunt, my aunt needed help, i needed a place. Its all worked pretty well. She is also a member of AA and wont drink alcohol at all. I noticed she had inherited a vitamix. One day we were discussing kitchen organization, trying to place things better and gain a little space if possible. She noted that the blender and this big huge pot could go. I asked her, "you dont want that thing?" Pointing to the vitamix. She said nope, i figured it had to do with drinking. I told her i would love to take it if she didnt want it, and that i would love to use it for smoothing out sauces. She told me to have at it and that its mine. She said she was planning on throwing it out!
I blended my first sauce tonight! Im one happy boy.
Its an old model. But it means 1 million times more to me, knowing it belonged to my grandmother.
Its like the tall skinny model in this video, only its white/offwhite. I didnt see a model number. It says vitamix total nutrition center on it.
I started with that Vitamix! It will last you many more years! Congrats on your first one :) ~Tarashaun
@@BlenderBabes Salute!
I really enjoyed ur video. Very informative. U highlighted the features of each model and gave great insight for making informed decisions. Thank U
Thank you for the recommendations! Looking into the entry series thanks to your review.
Loved this video, it was very helpful in deciding which Vitamix to get for myself. The Vitamix E310 is the one for me.
I have always wanted a Vitamix but was unsure which would be the right fit for me. With my new catering business fully underway, the A3500 is my dream machine. I love it!
Such a great informational video. Love the breakdown of each machine.
What an awesome video! Thank you!! I’m used to the 5200 and need a second one…after all the explanations I think it’s what I’ll stick with! Recently started trying soups and ready to go 2 at a time 😂🎉
Very informative video, thank you so much. This makes it easy to decide what blender is best.
At this point I might want to try a smart system model that could work with other self detect attachments and the longer warranty, although I am very happy with my 5200. We do use it mostly for smoothies, frozen fruit 'icecream", and for grinding flax seed and flours, and it's used mostly everyday.
i have wanted one of these for years it just blows my mind that u can fix hot or cold food in them so cool love it
Thanks for putting together this comparison!
Thanks for the comparsion ! Very detailed video
Great information!! thank you so much
Thanks for this post, very helpful.
Thankyou for actually explained the differences. Very helpful and exciting to read comments on how people use their Vitamix
Great Vid love it ! I wanted use that so much.
Thank you for the informations !! love this blender!
Thanks, I enjoyed the video. It was very informative.
First time anyone has actually explained the differences and what would be suited for me! Thank you.
Great video - thanks for the information!
Thank you! Really informative video.
Awesome review. Thank u!!
Great Video! Will get one soon.
LOVE my Vitamix! I use mine for all kinds of smoothies, soups, and making homemade flours! I would love to upgrade to an Ascent A3500.
Nice video. Thanks for making it!
What a great blander thank you for showing!
I bought my first Vitamix a year ago, the 5200 and love it. I have been toying with purchasing the dry container as I recently started milling my own wheat. I would love my next one to be one of the Accent series. I make everything from shakes to smoothies to nut butter in my Vitamix.
Dry container has lots of great uses, grind coffee, Indian spices, grains.
WOW! Thank you for such a great comparison. I was so lost. We currently have a Ninja, but when I did a smoothie last week as we prepare for a liver detox, my husband pulled out a branch of cilantro. Yep, was not good. SO... on my way to find my Vitamix! Thanks again!
Thank you so such a comprehensive review! I just bought a refurbished V1200 through your website and can't wait to replace my ninja!
I have the 5200, but find it is more than I need. For someone who only cooks for two, I think something a little smaller would serve us better like the E310 with the 48oz container, I'm sure that fits under a cabinet which I would prefer. Since I usually only use my blender for smoothies and an occasional soup, that would serve us the best. Thanks for the great comparison review.
Thanks for reply
just returned a 5200 and ordered a 5300 which i hope is shorter enough! considered snaller ones but wifey says if we're doing it we're really doing it
probably should have watched this first
This is awesome! Always wanted one
One of my friend gifted me a vitamix blender long back and it's still running solid after a decade, my mom already replaced 4 mixers in that period. Solid build quality and super powerful motor compared to the other brands, it can blend anything with an ease...
Is it better for dosa batter?
Thank you for the contest!
I have owned the Vitamix 5000 for over 25 years. It has been the workhorse of our home since it was new and I still use it almost every day. If you are looking for something that will last a lifetime Vitamix is the answer.
I have had the Vitamix Quiet One for 10 years. it is very durable!
Great video, thank you!
Thanks for your review 💜
Thanks for the great information!
Just got the E320. Love the simplicity of it yet able to attach a cup adapter for smoothies without having to go with a smart style blender. Has a 7yr warranty also! Thx for the info!
You're welcome Norma! Glad you got the blender that's best for you! :) Happy to help ~ Tarashaun
I just bought one ..the recipe book is very small...misses instructions..I also thought it could make hot soups..
@@jeanninemarion4902 All vitamixes do, if you blend long enough. 6 mins is roughly how long, but look up recipes.
Thank you for your review! My father wants to get one and I want to make sure we get the right one.
Really informative, thanks!
Great comparison, thanks for the video!
You're welcome Andre! :)
Seriously this video answered all the questions I had. Thank you.
You're very welcome! Glad I could help. :) Which blender did you decide is best for you?
I always think I want bigger but after buying one with a large container that has no option to add any smaller containers, I find I want smaller containers because they'd be easier to handle and clean. And I won't be able to overfill and make more than I really want to make. I think I'd prefer the Vitamix E310 with the 48 oz container, or maybe even better would be the Venturist V1200 with the really small container. I want to make smoothies and nut butters. I also just saw a video on grinding meat in the blenders, so I'd like to do that because ground chicken and turkey prices have skyrocketed. I'd also like to make mayo and some sauces. Bigger isn't always better, that's for sure.
Thank you for the informative video. I have an old off brand blender & would love to upgrade.
Great video thank you. Makes me want a Vitamix
I chose to go with the 5200, a year and a half ago, because of the container that can go from small to large batches. I really didn't want a touch screen, although I might have gone with the pro 750. You made everything very clear, and I would have loved to see this video a year ago. Thanks so much
Thank you so so much. I've texted you. very exciting
How has the 5200 been?
Yes I’m between the same two blenders. I just got the pro 750. But I’m really leaning towards the 5200 because of the narrow jar.
@@alingeorge8791 me too! I like the shortness of the 750 but it seems like the narrow container is important for thick smoothies? Let me know how you like it!
Chiming in to say the 5200 has been in my household since 2014-ish and I’m currently using it to give my 10 year old a liquid diet which he’s now in love with. Like another comment or said, it’s outlasted my ex husband and was the first thing I wanted to claim. It’s done everything me and my three children and mother need so I have zero complaints 10 years later ❤
Thanks for the great info
Thank you!!!! I finally know what blender to use. I used to use whatever was in my parents house, but now I actually have a choice!!
I love my Vitamix - healthy smoothies for breakfast every morning. Thanks for the video
Wonderful video! You were awesome at explaining how everything works. I have never owned a Vitamix and I now know which model would work for me. Thank you so much! 😀
So glad to hear it! thank you for sharing. So which vitamix did you decide on?
I decided on the Ascent Series. Mainly because of the 10 year warranty.
I love it, thanks for review
Great review!
Very Helpful!
I would love the Pro 750 it would be perfect for our home! We could make soups, smoothies, dips, shakes, everything!
Awesome product Vitamix , I will use for make all kinds of smoothies . thanks for the chance and keep on the nice job :)
I definitely need to up my blender game! the Vitamix looks amazing!
Thank you for the great information. I'm in the market for a good blender and all the choices are overwhelming.
This looks amazing!!
A friend showed me her Vitamix Blender and raved about it so I'm definitely interested!
thank for the update
I didn't know they had one that's programable. The Vitamix Ascent A3500 is something I would definitely buy so the kids can use it as well. Hopefully without little mess.
Thanks for this, I think this is the only video I've found on the entire internet that actually answers what the differences are between these blenders instead of just talking in circles. I'll be going with the A3500. Cheers!
So glad to help you make your decision finally! The A3500 is the one I have on my kitchen counter and I LOVE it! The link is in the description which gives you free shipping + my free gifts with purchase if you forward your purchase confirmation email to me freegift at blenderbabes dot com. Happy Blending! ~Tarashaun
Been wanting to get one of these.
I think the Ascent 3500 would be my choice to add to my kitchen. I love the design and looks so easy to use.
Thanks for a great video. Before watching I was going to start purchasing one of those green powders such as AG, but now thinking I should simply invest in a Vitamix and make my own.
Nice informative video, with some handy information.
Thanks for the budget concious options, I can get what I need without going over my budget
I absolutely love my 6300! So much, in fact, it was the first household item I claimed in my divorce. It outlasted my first husband and was always far more reliable. Based on that alone, I will never get rid of it. However, because of its height, I have to store it in a cabinet. I think I would like to have a second model...Leaning toward the 3500 for its low profile aesthetic that would compliment my kitchen.
🤣🤣🤣
I also have the 6300 and love it. Got it about 5-6 years ago at Costco but this morning when making hummus, something was making a horrendous sound under the load, but relatively no noise with no load [i.e. water or just running without the container on it]. I'm dreading its probable demise but holding off until its last gasp.
Rofl
This was funny 😂
"I love my Vitamix. I claimed it in my divorce. It outlasted my marriage and is far more reliable." 😂🤣😵💀
Based on that review alone, i know what blender to get.
This looks incredible!
The Ascent A3500 looks incredible! I would love to make soups and hummus with it.
The Vitamix Ascent A3500 is definitely something I would love to give away to my relatives this holiday season
Hi I used your link an bought the A3500 Gourmet SmartPrep Kitchen System and a few accessories. Thanks for the review, it was very helpful.
Thank you so much for helping support my small business Michael, I really appreciate it. Please be sure to forward your purchase confirmation email from Vitamix to freegift at blenderbabes.com to redeem my $50 in free gifts offer. :) ~Tarashaun
@@BlenderBabes I did that the same day you sent me the note. When will I get the response?
@@michaels5705 Hi! I'm not seeing it in my inbox. Can you please send to freegift@blenderbabes.com again?
I watch a lot of RUclips videos and have my favorite channels. I can tell this one will be one of my regulars. You've packed a lot of information in this video without a lot of lah-dee-dah. My Ninja blender/food processor broke (second one) and I told myself the next one would be a Vitamix. But which one? Now I know. I checked out your "deals" page and found a smoking good deal on a refurbished V2500. Sold. I'lll be back for the recipes. Thanks a lot!
Yay!! So happy to help and THANK YOU for purchasing through me! ~Tarashaun
Thanks for the info
I'm not sure which one I want. I would love to puree tomatoes with the skins on so I get a healthier tomato juice to can. What would be your recommendation? I would also love to shred veggies for freezing. Do any of them come with that attachment or would it be a different machine and if so what would your recommendation for that be?
loved it!!
Yes, i would love to hear your opinion. Cause i am torn between 5200 and 3500 model
Have had a Vitamix for years now still works great .
The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!
Thanks for this info! I have a Costco 6300 that is suddenly having motor issues with a heavy load [i.e. hummus today] but is okay with "no load" [i.e. smoothies and soups]. Since I have invested in various containers [AER, dry, 48 oz] I need to stick with the legacy models and at my age [retired] will check out the refurbished models. Thanks again for such an informative review.
I've wanted one for so long!
Good info, thanks
I love the Ascent A3500! I would make a fruit smoothie like my mom used to make
I think the A3500 would be my best fit! Easy touch programmed settings. I love the design and that it is dishwasher safe.
The Ascent 3500 has my heart! I would start out by making soups and smoothies.
Love the variety, difficult decision. The Ascent 3500 looks like a great choice. I need to start saving.
My dream kitchen item 😍 wishing and hoping
I would love the ascent A3500 as my husband would also be able to use the touch screen with ease. Smoothies and ice cream would be awesome with soup in winter
Today i bought TNC 5200 used, i didnt try it yet but i am very happy to have it 🤩
It will be a truly sad day for America if Vitamix ever stops making the 5200 Legacy. Not counting on that ever happening but if it did, then did I'd have to buy one of the last ones off the production line even though I don't need one. I'd just keep it as a backup in storage, in the event my 20 year old 5200 were to somehow become unfixable. That machine is so tough, I'm convinced it will outlast ME.
I've tried the other models and they're alright. The newer machine designs aren't so much of an issue, but the newer wide jar designs don't work as efficiently as the classic tall jar design. The wider jars with longer blades cause "ingredient hop" which makes everything bounce around violently inside, ricocheting off the blades and slamming into the sides of the jar, rather than forcing it to cycle smoothly and vertically through the jar. This has the unfortunate side effect of aerating and whipping the ingredients because the jar design does not restrict their movement, making things come out more frothy and bubbly than they did in the classic jars.
This is most noticeable when you're only filling up half the jar to make a single serving item. It's simply not the same kind of mixing vortex that the classic designs became famous for; that pattern has been right there in their logo for ages. And you didn't hear it from me, but in every circumstance I've tried, the classic jar designs seem to work just fine on the newer blenders, so give it a whirl if you have a newer machine and see if you don't agree.
It's also a sign of our times that people think they need timer settings to use a blender. The "automatic programs" and "wireless jar detection" features are ultimately gimmicks to get people with short attention spans to part with their money. They're completely unnecessary if you posses more than a single brain cell.
If you adjust your recipe in any way on a timed program, the ratio of ingredients means a timed setting won't produce the expected result, so you'll end up altering your blending time along with your ingredients anyways. This is all very easily solved by ... blending it yourself with manual controls! It doesn't take a lot intuition to know how long something needs to blend; you don't really even need to count seconds in your head, you can just see and hear what's going on inside the jar.
It's ultimately your money to spend, but if you want some life advice from someone who's tried a fair share of overpriced kitchen gadgets with unnecessary features, just save your money for more important things and stick with what's worked for decades. You can't improve on perfection.
I'd probably do the same. Don't need fancy features, just need the best Vitamix ever!
Excellent review! I have really old Vitamix with a stainless steel container with a spigot in the front for serving soup, smoothies, etc.. it needs servicing but they tell me it’s too old. 😢 Hopefully I can save up for a new one someday. 🤗
thanks for the info
I like the interface of the Ascent A3500 and I think it is the most reasonably priced blender out of the bunch. I would use it to make fruit smoothies and blended coffee drinks!
Yes! And it's on sale right now for lowest price I've seen it! www.blenderbabes.com/refurbishedA3500
Love the programmable one
I want to swap my current blender out for the Ascent or Venturist series so I can get the food processor attachment. I don’t have space for another motor in my kitchen so this would solve the space saving issue.
Going to get hold of Vitamix and see if I can do that.
I had a vitamix blender a long time ago and I just loved it. Would love to own another one.
Do the accessories like the spice grinder fit onto all model blenders? Is it possible to blend in the 20 oz to-go cup and does that cup work on all model blenders? TIA
