    I run GPM 17mm hex hubs (for Proline wheels) in my Kagama. Half the price of the ProLine inserts and so far so good.
    I may need to tighten the bolts every couple runs, but I'm sure LocTite would fix that.
    They're my first GPM parts and they work well.
    PS: E-6000 glue on top of layers of CA glue (after the CA has dried) have fixed my tire gluining issue.
    I do 2 layers of E-6000 on top of liberal BSI rubber toughened CA.
    I thought I'd mention the "tip" because i haven't run into it from anyone else.

      I'd have to imagine long-term the MMM gear is going to be more durable. It's just hard to picture something that was made in Germany and cost three times as much not being better made but I don't have the long-term experience to be able to know for sure. I do know that the MMM gear is extremely durable and so far the GPM gear which is still in my truck is holding up great.
      Yes the vitavon gears are also good but personally I always recommend keeping the Kush drive as it's an important part the system that keeps things from breaking.

Looking at Mod 1 and Mod 1.5 Gear Charts specifically the Diameter Difference between the two. Has anyone tried matching the diameters between the two to get a comparison ? I see a Mod 1-50T @ 52mm and a Mod 1.5-33T @ 52.5mm. Have had gas/nitro since 70's. 1st "Real" Electric RC. Just trying to figure out about where I want to start gear ratio wise since motor is more power than stock and tires will be slightly smaller. Stock 20T/50T (Mod 1, 22mm & 52mm) and Upgraded 13T/33T (Mod 1.5, 22.5mm & 52.5mm) If going by Mod 1.5 tooth count and trying to stay close to 2.50 Stock Ratio with 20T/50T then it looks to be 14T/35T. Any thoughts ? I know some of the gearing will be affected/determined by motor and battery temps. • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Год назад +1

      You can determine the ratio of your gears by dividing one number by the other so in the case of 20/50 you would end up with 0.4/1. You can then take that smaller number and multiply the larger number of the gears you're trying to figure out to figure out the other one. So in this case 35*0.4 is 14. So in this case you would want a 14 tooth pinion.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  10 месяцев назад +1

      I don't know of a chart but you can easily find the ratio yourself by dividing one number by the other. For instance 18/50 is just 50 divided by 18. That gives you a ratio of 2.77 to 1. You can then take the spur gear and divide it by that number to get the pinion gear you would need. So 35 tooth spur / 2.77 is 12.6 so you can either go with a 12 or 13 tooth pinion in that case.

    Hows it holding up so far?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Год назад +1

      So far so good. I still haven't fixed the alignment problem that I have somewhere in my system so it's only wearing on one edge of the gear and still seems to be doing well. I expect it to last well long-term.

    You try harden steel

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Год назад +2

      Yes I've used the harden mod 1 gears. They're okay but I wasn't terribly impressed with them.
      The funny thing is that harden isn't a brand or anything it's just a misspelling of hardened.

      @@coolhawk2003 actually the stock ones are hardened. They're just made from sintered steel. I have a video that explains the whole thing.

      When you used mod 1 did you try the extra wide mod 1 or the regular mod1

    • @DoRC

      I've used both. They're okay but honestly I wouldn't spend money on a replacement stock or even extra wide one when you can upgrade for not that much more money.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  9 месяцев назад

      @justincase948 no. The stock motor has a 5 mm shaft and there aren't a lot of options available for that shaft size. I think GPM makes a couple but that was with the 5687 hobby wing motor with the 8 mm shaft

      Hey I don't normally do links because I don't want people thinking I'm trying to profit off of affiliate links or anything like that. Also links tend to change frequently so I don't want to have outdated information. You can easily find them on eBay or just by googling though. Thanks for watching and if you enjoy the videos they sub is appreciated :-)

      Yes. You can run it with whatever motor system you want. Not sure you'll get much advantage of it with the stock motor system since the stock gears are actually pretty strong but you can't do it.

    I destroyed yesterday GPM 52T 1.0M spur for the Sledge. It is definitelly worse material than traxxas original. Survived two days on dirt track only. Also another GPM product are not a best quality. Their sway bars where was bad quality of thread what leads to stripped nut. For me it is just cheap a china. Also their aluminium upgrades like wheel hub and arms are bad quality of aluminium which i tried on XO. I wish you luck with 1,5M spur. Because i finished with this company.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Год назад +1

      Interesting. I used their mod 1 gear on my sledge for a while and had no issues with it. I haven't heard anybody else experience issues with theirs either. I made a video about it and saw no negative reviews in the comments.
      I wonder if the one that you got missed heat treat or something.
      A lot of their older stuff definitely wasn't good quality but all the newer stuff that I've tried has been great.

      I don't do links for two reasons. The first one is that I don't want people to think that I'm profiting from these videos because I'm not and the other one is that links change constantly so if I post something up it'll end up being invalid a month later. You can Google it though and should be able to find it pretty easily!
