Very nice. I'm currently running 50/20 gearing, max 6 esc and HR motor mount with manual mesh. HR for the spur and Robinson racing for the pinoin. Btw you are loosing some voltage every time you make a run. You are probably at ~3.8 per cell while trying 50/22 which will decrease your top speed by nearly 10%. So I think you can achieve close to 58mph with full packs on 50/22

I run a lot of boats, rc boats are harder on batteries and electronics then any other RC's. The batteries that get a 5 minute runtime in a boat get at least a 15-20 minute runtime in an rc car. These are some of the best batteries that i have tested, they are 65c continuous and 130c peak. The new version of them is 75c continuous I have yet to find anything thats better, the 100c HRB graphene are almost equal in speed. The new CNHL packs are said to be the same battery as the 75c turnigy panther graphene but are about half the cost.
Dammm that's stock??? You learned something every day! So 20/50? Got u going 53mph stock?👍so! If I went with these gears setup! Would I go over 53mph?? 22/46, 24/50,24/46???? Badass video by the way. Thank you sir 🙏
Yes stock No 22/50 but you have to be carefull with this gearing 20/46 should be similar speed. But again hard on stuff esc/ motor/ batts. I wouldnt use either for any off road. And thank you very much.👍👍
That depends on the surface you're running on, I personally wouldn't use that gearing on grass or off road, I normally run 50/18 or 50/19 for that. Please read the description....
I dont have a 21 But some quick math tells me that 50/21 should go about 51.45 MPH, its not exact so +or- 1 MPH And 46/21 should go faster then 53.6 mph maybe 54 maybe even 55, thats if the stock esc don't fail in the proceess.
Does the truck run any different on the 50/20 vs the 46/19 is there benefits in running the 50t spur over just gearing up the pinion with the stock 46t spur
I'm Running A 46 & A 22.. Me Too, I'm Not A Speed Person, I'm More Of A Basher..Lol! But My Main Goal Is Not To Make It Wheeile When Full In Throttle.. I Thought It Would Work By Running Taller Gears, But Same Thing, Its Just To Powerful..Also I'm Running The 1600kv Motor From The X-Maxx 6..
The electric motors have so much torque that gearing up is an inneficient way of keeping the nose down. More power = more wheelies You'd be better off going back to the 1200kv motor if you want less wheelies or run 6s. Gearing so high is real hard on the esc, motor and batts. My buddy runs that gearing (1200kv) and the tires expand so much that its hard to drive the truck straight on blacktop. At one point the tire distorts so much that it actually slows it down.
Nice video. I printed myself a few sets of different gears out of titanium. I love the sound they make compared to the steal gears and they are actually a few grams lighter and should be much stronger. Made 20-26 pinions and 46,50 and 54 spur. Sounds like a turbo charger now instead of clinking gears. Love this truck. Just watch out for your legs. :) Took me out once already when it slid sideways into me. Heh
secret squirrel I am very lucky to work where I do. I’ve made myself so many parts out of titanium and aluminum. Also helps I design the supports to build our parts so I get to make pretty much anything I can cad up or find an alt file of. I made a replica of Cain from Robocop2 completely in aluminum. That thing is a beast. 15lb posable statue. Without watching the video again you are running stock tires or after? I got the badlands on mine cause it shredded a tire on the body. I can’t get mine to go over 48mph with the 22/46 combo. I’m sure the tires being so heavy don’t help much. It’s all stock for now also.
@@JeremyDN let me know if ya can make me a 18 pinion and a 50tooth spur from titanium and I'd love a set of steering rods for the front end in aluminum
In this video I ran Turnigy Graphene 4s 65c 5000mah. I also did a video testing several different batteries on the X, check it out. ruclips.net/video/dfK0J1z9QQk/видео.html
I wouldn't use that for bashing Thats more for a few speed runs on a hard surface. Put a 50 spur in it and try it with the stock 18 pinion gear then if you want more and the temps of your electronics allow it go up 1 tooth on the pinion and check temps again. If you do a lot of blacktop then you can go higher if you run mostly on grass then I would run a smaller pinion.

Yes stock
No 22/50 but you have to be carefull with this gearing
20/46 should be similar speed.
But again hard on stuff esc/ motor/ batts.
I wouldnt use either for any off road.
And thank you very much.👍👍
All the details are in the description too.
Check thst out

I hear 22/50 is the sweet spot
That depends on the surface you're running on, I personally wouldn't use that gearing on grass or off road, I normally run 50/18 or 50/19 for that.
Please read the description....
Cool good to know I plan on running on road and off road so that helps thx for replying.
No problem
21. 46. 21 50. Try those out
I dont have a 21
But some quick math tells me that 50/21 should go about
51.45 MPH, its not exact so +or- 1 MPH
And 46/21 should go faster then 53.6 mph maybe 54 maybe even 55, thats if the stock esc don't fail in the proceess.
Do you think a 46/20 its a good combination for 50mph ?
I went 50 with 46/19
46/20 could go 53ish
But if your running on grass motor/esc may get very hot so be cautious.
Does the truck run any different on the 50/20 vs the 46/19 is there benefits in running the 50t spur over just gearing up the pinion with the stock 46t spur
50/20 is more like 46/18
Yes there is some potential benefit, more gear contact area, I put that info in the video.
More power = more wheelies
You'd be better off going back to the 1200kv motor if you want less wheelies or run 6s.
Gearing so high is real hard on the esc, motor and batts.
My buddy runs that gearing (1200kv) and the tires expand so much that its hard to drive the truck straight on blacktop.
At one point the tire distorts so much that it actually slows it down.
@@secretsquirrel1942 Ooh Ok..Thanks For The Info..!😊
Heh
Thanks
Thats awesome that you have the ability to do that, very very cool.
👍👍
secret squirrel I am very lucky to work where I do.
Yes stock tires.
Can u make me some titanium gears for mine and possibly alum steering rods for the front end can pay you through PayPal if the price is right
@@JeremyDN let me know if ya can make me a 18 pinion and a 50tooth spur from titanium and I'd love a set of steering rods for the front end in aluminum
were you running 8s or 6s for this?
8s
Batteries are draining so it might not be as accurate
While I was changing gears the batteries were on the charger, all runs were with the batteries at 100%
Make it fly by going on a ramp at high-speed. Make it jump over the truck next time.
Now you're takin.
Lol good one lmao👍
Here is the X-MAXX battery test.

Just curious but which batteries are you running, type and size a c rate
In this video I ran Turnigy Graphene 4s 65c 5000mah.
I also did a video testing several different batteries on the X, check it out.

would that 50 /22 53 mph set up be too much for bashing?
I wouldn't use that for bashing
Thats more for a few speed runs on a hard surface.
Oh by the way don't reck Ur motor just to show us fans, we know they ain't cheep 👍
WFO gear company is pathetic. Small company in Washington state. They don’t respond to emails period. No phone number to call them. Spend your money somewhere else. Last 14 months completely out of stock for their gears. Their steel manufacturer shut them down
I use stock traxxas or Robinson racing.
Great video!!
