I’m just now finding out that my tiny piss ant stock pinion gear set screw isn’t even touching the motor shaft, so nothing holds the gear on anymore. I just recently launched my Maxx off a skate park ramp probably a good 10 ft plus and it crashed nose first and that’s when I heard things slipping and not engaging. I also busted my steering bell crank. I’m guessing these Monster gears are only for these big powerful upgraded motors like the Castle and Leopards? I would like to get rid of my Xmaxx and buy a new one to start over with and put some bad ass upgraded power parts in it. Do you recommend putting dual cooling fans on the stock escs or are they for aftermarket larger escs? And the same question for dual motor fans? What are the brand of them huge pinion and spur gears? How much would a person be looking at to run that kind of motor, Esc, and gears set up? Or what Pinion/spur gear set up would you recommend for a stock motor? Thanks
Hey dude, the stock set up in the xmaxx is pretty weak all around to be honest, my first upgrade was a traxxas 18tooth hardened pinon gear and one of the GPM 50 tooth hardened spur gears, i found that gearing and combo was fantastic and they took alot of abuse, there is a guy here in the U.K who sell belt drive systems and larger gear systems to work with stock motor set ups, the Facebook page is called 'WHEEL HOBBIES X MAXX performance parts' give the guy a message hes real nice to deal with, i got my latest belt drive system from 'Allday' rc but have already had issues so i wouldnt bother.
