That sucks for the new owner, I have taken 2 people to court and gotten money back after buying misrepresented cars both were sold as restored and rust repaired but they were bondo and chicken wire and the owners paid money back plus time and court costs. Hate that this happened to the new owner!
The Elco looks great. Will be a great driver once you've finished with it...am sure of that!! Some people have no scruples, no conscience. Look forward to watching this project. Be safe and stay well.
I bought a Mazda truck that did the same as that camino,,Turned out to be the rings were the problem.. Pulled the head and oil pan.Replaced the Rings and it was good..Best Regards
It’s had a few appearance changes since this video. Cowl hood and some pro star looking wheels. It’s a solid car now though, he followed us on PowerTour back in June
It’s not my car, not sure exactly what he paid but I can say it wasn’t a good buy. I’ll be starting the assembly of the new motor this Sunday so another video on it is coming soon. There’s already a part 2 video up showing why it was smoking so badly
Sad there are so many bs'ers selling cars mostly flippers. Many are too young to know values they figure if its old its worth a ton. Ran when parked, some kid selling grampas car and gramps dont know about it etc. Sometimes get the itch to sell my Camino and get something else but know how picky I am about things done right. Got the ideal one right in front of me. Wish I could lean over hoods and still wrench. Became a parapalegic in my 40s.
Yea the seller of this car had owned it far to long to have not known all I ended up finding wrong with it. His dishonesty cost my buddy several thousand dollars but I believe we got it sorted out now. There’s three maybe four videos on the car, thanks for watching this one and I hope you take a look at the others as well. Keep enjoying your el Camino !!Thanks for watching
@@LeftForDeadGarage Right on, same to you. Some owners are aloof at what a car can need but sounds like you got rooked. I try to buy at a point if I have to put 1-3k in the car I wont get hurt too bad.
@gordocarbo it’s not my car, wish I’d went with him to look at it though. Maybe two sets of eyes and one set not being being the eager buyer might of picked up some red flags. On a good note he knows EXACTLY what he has now.
It’s just one of those things. Last week a buddy went to look at a Monte Carlo in charlotte. He found a rust farm surprise when he got there. All of the pictures were carefully taken and nothing in the listing mentioned it.
It’s still here, I’ve been waiting on the owner to supply a “new” motor. There is a good chance I’ll be pulling a 5.3 from a wrecked Tahoe for it next week. Tomorrow I’ll be posting the next video on this car. Thanks for watching
I have never seen your channel before today and I probably won’t waste my time watching any more. First it is so boring listening to you try to figure out what to say next in a monotone voice then you get to parts pile and finally your plans for bearings. Are you kidding people ? You’re going to tear down this engine and not freaking replace the rings and bearings. What a cheap way to do anything. You are not the first I have seen do this but damn, why risk having problems when you can get less expensive parts and make the engine new again. If my mechanic pulled that in my shop, he would be gone. I do hope RUclips never recommends this site again. I wish you good luck.
This isn’t my car and wasn’t my money, I was just helping a friend out and doing as he wanted. I going to guess you probably didn’t watch the follow up videos to see what I found and what the budget build turned into?? Have a good one and thanks for watching.

Apologies on behalf of ALL of us here in SC. Sadly the FB scams seem to be getting worse by the day
