I appreciate your honesty, personally never really understood how people could pay for Artic’s work. Not when individuals like Photon Collectibles are putting out epic projects for $75-$125. There is NO reason why Artic is charging $250-$400 (Zilla) for tiny figures with joints made from gangly wire and half assed paint jobs. His work really rubs me the wrong way as an artist myself.
I love the honesty of this review. You really show the problems with it. I'm glad you highlighted the issues you did, as the criticisms are warranted and neccicary. It can't be denied that what Artic Figures, Zetto, KujiraDesigns etc do is fantastic in an ambitious way, however all these 3D printed resin figures/parts seem to suffer from the same issues. The resin allows for super crisp detail and slight flexability, but is VERY brittle. Everyone I've seen post these have ALL had missing teeth/spikes/what have you, due to ether shipping or assembly. My Skullcrawler form Zetto broke during assembly, which was very frustrating given I spent about $300AUD on it, and every other part from those mentioned above has arrived damaged, so I've had a 100% defect rate. The material itself Is also prone to paint chipping I find, even after several top coats, any slight friction and the paint is gone. There's also the labour cost that goes into these, which then gets pushed onto the consumer. Now yes you can have your figure pre-assembled and pre-painted but you'll be paying extra again, because like you said, there's only so much one person can do, especially when they have so many orders. Interchangeable parts are also a death sentence for these figures, a more pliable rubber like material (like what's used for S.H. MonsterArts) would be great and alleviate a lot of issues present, but I guess that's not in the cards. Sculpt and detail wise these figures are great, but the all too common quality control issues on top of the extremely high asking price makes me hesitant to recommend these figures, and I actually advise against them if you aren't an experienced customizer. This sucks to say, as you can tell these individuals are passionate about their work, but I believe these types of figures (despite other qc issues) are better off in the hands of larger corporations like Bandai.

It looks like he's combined the bull skull with the matriarch skull. I'm not too keen on that, and I don't like how the body is segmented for posability. I do like the mottled purplish-blue colouring, though. It looks very striking with the white underbelly. Is that the actual colour, or is it just the lighting? So allegedly, in Minecraft, the guy who made these closed up shop with unfulfilled orders after being confronted with history of scams.... And took the money and ran. After seeing this, not much of value was lost. 💀 I mean it was a crappy thing to do, but this looks painful.
Yo! Steven, what's up man! I've been watching you for years! I actually disputed this figure purchase after the review and got my money back, he sent me a super pissed off email (not knowing I reviewed his figure on youtube) 😂. Now I don't feel bad, whats funny is he hit me up on my youtube's instagram asking if he could do anything to help me out and fix my figure. It just goes to show that these scammers will prioritize sending figures out to youtubers to help promote their scam.
I really like bjd figures because if the string breaks it is easy to repair unlike plastic joints, but of course even more important is that the seller should be honest and not a scammer who never sends you the figures you bought.
I like his work, but I was waiting to get a piece from him at some point. What stopped me was when he offered the unassembled ones, and I saw the string. I wasn't sure what it was for, but I bought an articulated dragon off etsy once, and the joints were held together by bungee cord. That string in Artic's pics made me think he was use string to hold it together, which put me off from buying, because I was expecting full joints for the price of the figures. I didn't have an issue with the prices, because it is a lot of work, but the string method is kind of lazy, because there other creators that take the time to create proper joints. It seems like the cost of these figures is based on the filament cost and sculpting. I know he said that one figure can take up a whole bottle of a special resin blend he uses, and the bottle itself cost $160.. So most likely cost is coming from resin and the time to sculpt it, and use the 3D printer as a whole, because the printers need maintenance and replacement parts as they get used through time. For the paintwork, it is very disappointing that it is poor quality in terms of durability and not being fully painted. I never really liked his paintwork, it sort of looked cheap in all his figures. He is more than likely rushing through the painting process to keep up with production. As for the reviewer you mentioned, you probably are referring to Andy's Dinosaur Reviews. Andy reviews a lot stuff, but he is not an objective reviewer that provides constructive criticism; he simply likes everything that he receives. I have not really ever heard him say he does not like something. As someone else has said, he also doesn't really demonstrate the full articulation of figures either, most likely because it his copy and doesn't feel comfortable with it. Problem is though, buyers do not really know just how much range the figures provide. Overall, it sucks that this figure came out this way for you. I support Artic, as his work looks awesome, but now seeing the grim and gritty of this figures makes me reevaluate if I can justify the cost of his figures, because corners definitely were cut. I was interested in the 3D files that he recently made available, but not soo much now that I know the figure does not have proper joints and uses string. Buying the files would require the buyer to engineer their own joints that are compatible with a figure, in which is may just be easier to make the whole figure at that point for better compatibility. Definitely not buying any of his pieces now though, as I no longer see it worth the price.
You couldn't be further from the truth about me. I always do my best to point out every issue with every figure I review and have had many reviews that were negative. Take a look at some of my recent Mattel Fierce Changers reviews, just for a few examples. I always do my best to point out any issue that i think is worth mentioning. I'm sorry if I come off as rude, which I don't mean to be, but when people say things like that, it drives me crazy!

I’d rather get a Rebor version or wait for an official Articulated V-Rex. Definitely gonna skip this out. I preordered Artic’s unpainted Graboid (only figure I’m going to get from him) and I hope it gets here fine and around the time he said it would be sent out. Big fan of Tremors so an articulated Graboid was something that I wanted very badly. I do have a figure from another person, Jurassic Justin and that’s the Sub-Adult Scorpios Rex. This figure is amazing with little to no issues with it. No paint chipping or figure chipping. Only gripe is that it’s a little hard to stand up for photography but nothing to bad.
And this is why I prioritize statues over articulated figures. Hunt down the Nanmu Dragon Soul V-Rex, your won't regret it. As a matter of fact, I've snatched TWO myself just for good old redundancy.
The detail and sculpt is amazing, but the price, material's quality and the articulation is a big no for me. The figure isn't worth it. But hey! Great review ;)
$200.00 bucks for the unpainted version, this thing isn't just worth that price. People need to stop buying from these amateur toy makers with 3D printers who think their flimsy prints are really worth what they're asking for.
For $300 it shouldn't be held together with fucking strings....I give him credit on the actual sculpt and manufacturing of this this as like a 5 man team. But if your charging upwards of $300 per figure you need to design an incorporate ball joints and hinges like monsterarts or just action figures in general. Ontop of alot of the joints having huge gabs and pretty horrendous cuts. Again I say all of this as it's being charged as a premium price.

Notice how he now limited comments on his Instagram? I wonder why. I advise you guys contact your bank.
300 bucks?! That's a rip off! The Hammond T-Rex articulated for 50 bucks is away much better deal and made better! My favorite King Kong movie is the original 1933 OG! No CGI bullshit! Peter Jackson disappointed me! He's supposedly such a fan of the original King Kong this one to me didn't do it justice! I would love to see a terapusmordax figure!
Great, honest review! Greatly appreciated! Thanks! Subbed!
Appreciate you too 😁
I wanted so bad the arctic figure v rex but how did you get that figure?
i got mine today. its ok . o didnt expect it to be held with bands but ig that makes sence
Appreciate the real review, man. Well done
Thank you!!
Awesome looking figure but Jeez that price is outrageous
So allegedly, in Minecraft, the guy who made these closed up shop with unfulfilled orders after being confronted with history of scams.... And took the money and ran.
After seeing this, not much of value was lost. 💀
I mean it was a crappy thing to do, but this looks painful.

Articfigures- closed shop and social media, as well as our money for figurines, were gone. I bought two figurines, one a year ago and one now in August. I haven't received any. Case?

Did you ever get your money back?
Dang bro this is sad for that price u shouldn’t have these problems🤦.
Does no one ever show the packaging it comes in anymore
How can I buy this dinosaur?
The new background is infinitely better!
Thanks man!
Hey if Peter Jackson's King Kong is your favorite, it's my favorite too.
I pre ordered the V rex months ago. Still haven't gotten mine.
I have emailed him also... With no response. I remembered it said "will" ship in October
Trust me, you’re not getting them. This guy is a con artist.
He sends his garbage to big RUclipsrs to review to trick good people into buying them. Then he cashes out and proceeds to ghost the consumers.
I lost around 800 USD to this guy. He broke every rule on Indiegogo by lying about shipment dates + not informing the backers. Good thing my bank seized the money from his account.
I would consider getting a refund. If its anything like what he did to me, you're not getting it. Its a scam.

Man this is disappointing to see. I ordered one of these back in March and it still hasn't arrived. Yesterday they sent me an email to say it's been shipped, but they inexplicably sent it to my old address even though i sent them multiple emails saying I'd moved house. 😮
Now they've suddenly deleted their website and Instagram. Really freaking out that I've been scammed.

I need it🗿👍
I bought mine all the way in July still hasn’t been shipped out yet. Maybe I should get a refund 😅
Damn man, sorry to hear that. I guess I got really lucky when I got mine when I did!
I don't know what to do man I bought vastatosaurus rex and zilla figure and haven't received vastatosaurus I've been messaging him for like 3 days and haven't received an answer kinda worrying me that I'm not get the figures
Sorry to hear this man, hope you get what you paid for. I know once you buy they usually dont ship instantly, it takes a while.
@@actioncreatureI got it 🙏 finally but agree about it standing and I'm just like so scared to touch it I don't want to break it haha
@@xxgrimxreaperxx4483Just found out he's a potentially huge scammer, hoping my order still comes in this month too...

And this is why i keep them unpainted that and the fact I can’t paint or have any paint at all
i ordered there spinosaurus family pack but they havent arrived yet. i think i heard there gonna ship it late october.
Trust me, you’re not getting them. It’s a classic pump and dump scheme. He’s only shipping them quick to big RUclipsrs to trick more people into buying his garbage and proceeds to no-sell/ghost people. I lost around $800 USD to this guy. Good thing my bank seized the money from him.
@justintothesun so all the fucking money i gave to my parents is all gone now. it was 500 DOLLARS😭😭
@@JurassicManiac file a claim with your bank. I’m sorry to hear about your experience too. But my bank offered me a refund because he’s basically committing a crime - lying
@justintothesun i told my someone i know on discord and they said they will ship in october. forgot what time in october but if i dont get it until december ima have to talk to my parents about it
@@JurassicManiacI hope it works out too you
I am still waiting for my on backorder I know the artists is going through some difficulty but my gosh I can't wait to get my to add to my collection!
I'm Brazilian and an action figure collector, if I buy it, would they ship it to my country?
You would have to ask him on instagram, try commenting one one of his posts. He is pretty good at responding that way, he has his DMs turned off.
Do you have any contact info for Artic Figures? I've tried contacting him on insta and his website and emailing him. A name or address or anything? I paid for this thing in March. I get that its bespoke and takes time but this is bananas
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but Articfigures is said to be a scammer under the name of Josh Smith and David Lee whose site is now gone. While some of his orders have went through, consider getting a refund and spreading the word around.
@Raptorcloak yeah I figured. Etsy and Paypal were no help. Out nearly $400 bucks from this guy.
@@ismaelhernandez4945 Try disputing the transaction on your credit cards bank by telling them about the missing site and that your order hasn't been received.
Unfortunately I don't. I just made a video on all my interactions with him!

Im really tempted to grab a graboid too, no pun intended! 😂
@@actioncreature 😂😂! Nice
Why would you pay $300 for string and plastic with chip paint?
I like the V-Rex that much I guess, but I did get my money back.
I love it, but... its just so tiny. Compared to the official vrexs
when I got mine the end of the tail broke off
make sure to keep us updated
Damn im sorry man!
I’m STILL waiting on mine

He broke every rule on Indiegogo. He lies about shipment dates + doesn’t inform his customers about changes.
Apparently he’s too “busy”. But he’s not too busy making newer garbage to sell to people, instead of fulfilling past orders made A YEAR AGO by people.
Notice how he now limited comments on his Instagram? I wonder why.
I advise you guys contact your bank.
Whoever made Arctic literally is a criminal
Oh god that paint chipping yeah no thanks, that's always a huge red flag in my opinion.
Imma be completely honest I did not know that the V-Rex had an action figure
This is not officially liscensed. There are some older figures that are liscensed, though!
He should of did it practical with animatronics like Jurassic Park and only use CGI when it couldn't be done practical! Plus I don't know why he had to invent a new dinosaur and call it a V-Rex! You should have just went with the OG T-Rex!
The Vrex was made so that it wasn't a direct remake, he had too one up the originak
If you dont want i will take it
