I bought one because of your recommendation. I absolutely love it! Thank you. I live in Va USA bear a lot of Civil War battlefields. I’m finding more targets in places that we’re supposed to be hunted out. Not only find more but find them deeper. Thanks again
Bought one of these after watching so many videos and i think it was you're enthusiasm that led me to buy it, really loving it so far, ok only beach at the moment but super depth and even tiny items. Enjoyed this video and will come back again, need to tune the ears in to those tones.
Hi mate, Love the vids I started MD some years ago but then had a stroke, I'm now recovered and wanting to get back into it. Sadly, I just about forgot everything I had learned, so your video's have been invaluable. So invaluable that today I bought a Quest Q30 from somebody whose cap you wear. Can't wait for it to arrive, I live in coastal Northumberland, a really historical county, so here's hoping. Thank You for the instruction and good advice, and you also have a new subscribe.r
Nice little hunt . I absolutely adore my Q30 , i thank you for that . I only used Park mode until yesterday , and is spot on with your IDs . My first ever gold ring 10k , was solid19 (same as foil) , and recently my 18k ring was at solid 36 . Silver 3pence was 55 . Doesnt read new 10p coins , just the olds . Loves 20p coins . Yesterday i tried a bit of field mode , very sensitive , but deep , different ID numbers , i end up switching to park mode .
I have the Q30+ and i'm getting loads of coins, its nice to see what your ID's are to what i get, i run on field for some pasture that i detect as works well for me, i have been ignoring some of the mid tones but after this video i will be digging them, great video's keep them coming...
At first i didn't think Quest was very good but i was wrong. Pretty nice, solid steady machine. With good depth, stable tones and VDI. Good price to. I will be keeping my eye on these Quest machines. Thanks for the video. I am subscribed now😊👍👍👍
No problem Lance! Here’s a playlist of the 30 if you need more info. I also have the same for the 10 and 5 👍🏻 ruclips.net/p/PLEwdKNSuOkGwISThbPkqU0QOh5IQPL0dr
I enjoyed this very much. I am a beginner and waiting until Christmas to get myself a machine of my own. This was great to learn about the Quest Q30. I will keep it in mind. It looks very user friendly and good for a beginner. Cheers from North Carolina.
I have noticed the q30 struggles more on Sandy silty soil than compact clay and the pinpointed is not great. What’s the best condition to use park or field And what does it mean when It pings but no number appears? Cheers kris 😊👍🏽
Hello, My Q30 had a glitch, the back light came on with no programs showing, and it would not switch off. I had to leave it overnight until the battery went flat. It charged up alright the next day, and everything went back to normal. Informed Joan Allen, they said send it back for full test. But as I said everything is now okay ( strange )
Would have field mode made much difference instead of park in this fantastic experiment kris? I’ve just bought a q30 and found my first coin 🪙 last week 😊 thank you so much for making just what I needed in a perfect video. Btw I lost my charger 🔌 got it contacted Joan Allen asking if I can buy a replacement and they said they’ll post one free of charge. Unreal. Thank you so much guys
Hi Kris, always enjoy watching your videos dude. 📹 2 of my detecting friends use the Quest Q30 and they absolutely love them! Amazing amount of metal detector for the money! Fair to say I feel robbed for what I paid for my XP Deus. Keep them coming and good day to you, Sir 👌
Top vid Kris. I have hardly use Park mode with my Q30, but think I will give it a try. Currently running a BlackDog Max coil which has taken the machine to another level. Keep up the fantastic work mate.

hello.did you have any problems using this detector??do you suggest it to a person that starts now the hobby of metal detecting?im bettween x10 pro and q30....please id like your help-opinion on what to choose
Hi, Giannis! I'd go for this model, as its the better of the two. I still love the machine, and use it all the time. It's easy enough for a beginner to learn, but still good for a mid range user. Have fun!
Hi Kris, I recommend to my friend to buy the quest q30. I don’t if you can help at all but he gets loads of chatter on the machine all the time. Is it just ground balance that needs playing with? Many thanks
Hi, Daniel! It could be the land. Are you detecting the same land with another machine? How is that one? It could just be a case of bringing the sensitivity down until it stabalises. My Q30 is fine on all my fields but one. I have no idea why it happens, but it's so chattery on this one field. Again, pulling the sens down sorts it out. A ground balance won't hurt, either! Tell me how it goes :)
On Quest machines it doesn't hurt to adjust the frequency when you have chatter, mineralization can really fuss with a detector. hold the ground balance button down and click the volume button to adjust. You may have to change sensitivity after this. I hope this works for X30, I have done it with success with my Quest X10 in a wood lot that was chattery when I started detecting it. Edit: I also ground balance just to make sure after changing frequency.
Love your videos mate so entuitive, and would love some guidance on the x10 as bought one the other week. but not sure on the ground balance how that works and also was at beach but detector was chattering and giving signals but was nothing there. Was at a pebbly beach was wondering if I was doing something wrong. Also discriminated iron out but was still picking up iron like nails or bits of crap. So in the end got fed up and switched to all metal and whenever a strong tone came on I'd check. So would appreciate a few guides on that pls. Thanks
Hi Hi. I’m on pasture here, which is short grass - same as a park. I’ll typically use field mode on ploughed land, or mix between the two, depending on what’s most stable 👍🏻
Hi Is there much difference on finding good targets between the quest X10 and the Q30?I have purchased the X10 recommend by you.Its an excellent little machine but I find it very basic.
I nearly went detecting the other day... But then I didn't. That seems to perform and sound exactly like the Makro Racer 2/Nokta Impact... Which are also awesome machines! In fact I could almost predict what you were finding from knowing those machines. Interesting 🤔 What's with the eBay noise?! 😆
All detecting brands now outsource to China. All component parts are created there, and put together in respective countries, as it’s much much cheaper. In this instance, it’s the same - but put together in America 👍🏻
I don’t seem to have that problem. So times if I’m shifting between wet and dry sand, I shift between the two modes. If you’re in the wet, go to saltwater and that should sort it 👍🏻

I have just got a q30 and field mode is almost unusable due to chatter, sensitivity has to be down to 40 before it quietens down.
