Can't believe I haven't edited the Harry Potter series until now. I grew up with it and I absolutely adore both the books and the movies. I will attempt to do a lot more videos in the future. Brilliant character and a stunning performance by Mr. Rickman. Can't say much more that hasn't already been said. Enjoy

Alan Rickman was the only one who Rowling told Snape's true character to. That's why Snape always felt so complex, even in the limited scope of the films.

No. She told him about twist, not true character. Snape in books was just horrible person. He was bullying students so much Nevill was more scared of him than Bellatrix who tortured his parents. Alan Rickman and movies directors were these who made Snape's character likeable. Because they removed all this garbage what his character did in books and Rickman was really charismatic.

Even though I hate Rowling, the books were good and it was thanks to her tell Alan Rickman about Snape or the twist that he actually decided to stay and play the role. He originally planned to stop playing Snape after the 2nd movie.

This was a Phenomenal Masterpiece for Severus Snape. Casting The Late Alan Rickman (1946-2016) was Incredible Casting and May Both Severus Snape and Alan Rickman Both Rest In Peace an Incredible Character Played by an Incredible Actor.
To this day, it was his acting that made this cinematic experience unforgettable! I wish there would have been time for a stand-alone movie about his story. So more interesting than the candy coated stories of the main series ❤

I think it will come as no surprise that I, like so many others, find the character arc of Severus Snape to be an incredible and compelling one. The depth of the character, and J.K. Rowling's masterful forethought in how she wove Snape's narrative throughout the story, and the subtleties approved by her with Rickman's inimitable portrayal, ensure that Severus Snape will endure as one of the most iconic characters of fantasy fiction. I am not one to often posit an opinion on "Oscar-worthy" performances, but if one sequence alone could do it, I firmly believe the unforgettable sequence, the vignettes of flashback and editing, of "Always" stands tall in riveting cinema. Who would disagree that, even if someone knew nothing of the Harry Potter saga, they still could watch "Always" and not fail to be rivetted by its masterful storytelling?
I came looking for that scene, just to watch - yet again - and stumbled upon this... Cinematic love letter, and the editing, the interweaving of the clips from the film, the clear distinction between the two halves - this felt like a short film; a character introspective professionally commissioned by Warner Brothers as, perhaps a special feature for a new release of the film on 4k bluray, or a behind the scenes special on HBO. I honestly think I was stunned into silence watching this. I sincerely hope, to you, the Creator, that this talent & passion you palpably possess, so clearly evident in the love and attention you have so dedicatedly conferred into the making of this montage, is capitalized upon in another walk of your life; that you are an A/V professional, a digital media artist, a graphic designer, SOMETHING, because to consider that you're otherwise squandering the artistry and talent that assembled this, would be almost cruel.
Thank you, Internet person, for this. I don't want to lay on my "thanks" too thickly, as I think everything else I've what said made it clear how much I - and I hope I might presume to speak for everyone else who has watched this video - appreciates your work.

I remember when i was reading book and when i came to the part where Snapes story was revealed and how he loved Lily with all his hearth and how he was the one who was actually protecting Harry all the time but had to play it out diferently for the greater good. I was shocked and even shed a tear which i dont do often...

Snape as a character, especially in the books, was a bully. If we eliminate that part of it and just pretend for a while that he was a truly good man, the first glimpse of his true love for Lily can be seen when he's with Sirius Black under the Whomping Willow. Although he was misled to believe Sirius was the true betrayer, you can tell he was ready to end Black's life. No matter the cost.
Same story as forest gump in a certain way. Give up great part of physical and mental health for love and never get any return, kiss or smile. Only exploited or ignored. It is called as a tragedy in movies and theater. In real life it breaks your heart and makes you cold. There are not comments or viewers. No likes or any other positive. You are alone. So I like the plot but it has no effect in the real world. Except to make some people rich and leads most people to hypocrisy.
Snape didn’t really love Lilly. He only thought he did. If he did he wouldn’t have called her mud blood in school, nor would he have continued in his dark ways and friends she didn’t like. His hatred for her son was also a telltale sign. Harry was also HER son but Snape only saw the father. In the book as he lay dying he told Harry to look at him, this was to see Lilly’s eyes again on last time, not for any softening for Harry. If the 2 of them had married it would’ve been a failed marriage. I hate Snape as much as the Marauders did.
Him calling her a mudblood was an accident. Don't forget he had just been humiliated by the Marauders in front of the entire school and Lily was at the wrong place at the wrong time. He snapped and said something horrible but he also regretted doing it and begged for forgiveness. Sometimes people say or do things they aren't proud of when they aren't thinking straight.
Yes he joined the Death Eaters but he turned to Dumbledore when he realized Lily was going to be targeted by Voldemort because of Harry. Don't forget he begged Voldemort to spare Lily if Harry was to be killed. That's why the protection spell worked: because Voldemort actually intended to spare Lily if she stepped aside willingly. Because she wasn't the intended target and sacrificed herself willingly, that made the killing curse backfire on Harry. If Voldemort had intended to kill Lily then it wouldn't of worked and Harry would of been killed. It took Severus begging for Lily's life to help keep Harry alive even if that wasn't his intention.
Yes he could of treated Harry better but he still committed himself to keeping Harry safe for her sake.
