Last year I've made a tribute about Harry Potter and always wanted to come back to this franchise one more time to pay tribute to Severus Snape. This character is to me the best out of the franchise and his story is heartbreaking even more than 10 years after. I hope this tribute help to remind some of you how great he was. Rest in Peace Alan Rickman, could not hope for a better portrayal of the character.
I'll be back with more videos soon, expect many Wandavision & Attack of Titans and more hopefully.

Yes, I am a grown man. Yes, I followed the Harry Potter movies. And yes... this video made me cry for 5 minutes. So much pain and so much sacrifice! He literally dedicated his entire life to Lily and her progeny because he loved her beyond all reason. You have painted the picture of devotion so well. Also, may Alan Rickman Rest In Peace.

I don't care what anybody says I love the Snape in the movies way more than the Snape in the books. Because he has a far better redemption arc in the films while in the books even if he did care for Harry he refused to admit it to Dumbledore and even played it off as if he didn't. I feel as if in the books he could never fully let go of what Harry's father did to him and as such held it against him while in the movies he eventually forgave his dad and in the process allowed himself to truly care for Harry.

“For him?” shouted Snape. “Expecto Patronum!”

He breathed life in him for 10 years. 10 years is a long time to get to know someone and care about them, so when they die....no, when they are killed in a horrific and brutal way, you WILL mourn them, and it will hurt, and it will last ALWAYS! @@maraudentium2607 In the book, when Hermione and Harry time turned, they spotted Snape conjuring cots for the injured, including the unconscious Harry and Sirius to take back to the castle. Snape must have also gotten Harry and Sirius from the lake too. Hermione and Harry were surprised by Snape's kindness and compassion.

The edit shows so brilliantly how Snape was protecting Harry from everyone even Dumbledore whom everyone thought was the saviour but he was no less than an anti-hero.

@@scriptedbyelo it wasn't really my choice of insult but he was...Snape was a bully as a teen, a terrorist who sold out an innocent baby to a murderer, then he went back to being a bully and a spy after he unintentionally got "the love of his life" killed by said murderer.

I don’t think snape was underrated in the literature. He always had this mysterious allure about him and people always were attracted to his character but never fully invested because he was evasive, which was rowlings intentions. She crafted one hell of a character 🖤.
With all respect, but I think you don’t understand what “underrated” means. Snape is the most popular HP character. He had an enormous fanbase even before the seventh book
As a Literature student myself I can say he is not underrated. His character arc is the most discussed and researched in literary and academic circles among the series. There are many literary research books and articles based on his character. He is also regarded as one of the best characters in modern literature. So he is not underated.
@@immortalfrom90 That is so true. Severus Snape was voted the most favorite character in HP, in every poll taken, some by as much as 65% of all the votes cast! That's amazing in itself. Like you said, this was even before DH 2 with Snape's memories. Dear, sweet Alan, God rest his soul, portrayed Snape so perfectly, he will be an iconic figure for years and years to come, and Alan's great works will live on.❤️😍🥰🙏😇

Severus Snape's charecter is so brilliantly written. He was the perfect man to play double agent. A lot of people complain that Severus was a bully and unpleasant to Harry the whole time bcz Harry was a spiffing image ofJames. And he would favor slytherins over all the other houses and he didn't have a heart. But the fact is that if he hadn't been the way he was, someone would have discovered his secret and Voldemort (the most powerful legimens) couldn't be fooled.
But isn't it better for a double agent to not act completely obvious?
And why did he act that way even before Dumbledore knew of the connection between Harry and Voldemort?
@@keineahnung6184 Because, he still had to put on the act. Many of the students in Hogwarts were children of Death Eaters. Not only that, Voldemort was a Legilimens, like the above comment stated. He had to stay in character, so that if the Dark Lord read his mind, he'd be fooled by Snape's state of mind. Let's not forget that Snape was a skilled Occlumens, meaning he could shield his mind and show the Dark Lord only what he wanted him to see. He couldn't make up memories, but he could select which ones the Dark Lord could see. If he hadn't treated Harry that way, there would have been no memories he could show the Dark Lord, and showing him nothing would have alerted him that Snape was an Occlumens. Basically, Snape was playing a dangerous game of chess with the most powerful Dark Wizard in history.

I wasn't a big fan of Harry Potter but everytime i watch this I cry because we didn't know that he cared for harry until the end near his death. He's a true LEGEND in the movie industry.😥

I'm a 30 year old man who'd never bothered watching the Harry Potter series, I've just finished them and my god Snape is one of the most brilliant characters I've ever seen! His arc is brilliant and I only wish we'd seen more of him in the films. RIP Alan Rickman.
I don't approved how he did things, how he was and with whom his loyalties lied before Lily died.....but he redeemed himself by caring for Harry in whatever way he could manage

Never has a movie perfectly changed someones mind on how they view a figure. From someone saying Snape in a menacing tone to Snape in a somber tone. Splendidly done. And this tribute highlights all the important aspects of it. Very well done sir.
Snape is a character who I despised for so long. Written in such a way to evoke nothing but anger and hatred. So when it is revealed everything he had done to keep Harry safe, all born out of the love for his mother; reflecting back upon his actions has never given me worse whiplash. Love or hate the Harry Potter books, you have to admit that Snape's character was brilliantly written and Alan Rickman embodied that idea perfectly.

You managed what only one chapter in seven books managed, to bring me to tears like a baby. I read the entire series when I was already an adult in just a week, and the only chapter that made me a crying mess was the one with his story. This video had the same effect. Bravo. @@NooBwithaGUNSparkX I think it aas a way of testing Snape. After all Snape was a death eater that use to follow Voldemort. When Snape came to him desperate begging him to save the Potters he wasn't sure of his allegiance 100% hence asks him what Snape is willing to sacrifice to save Lily's life.

Not daughter-father, but for sure this is how I feel about my mentor. How as a kid he was there protecting me in ways I didnt understand then growing up and learning his situation from a mature stand point. Snape became my favorite character in the final 2 movies. Then that was the catalyst to read the books and wow, the movies were ight compared to the literature/imagination.
RIP Rickman, thanks for being our Snape.

Absolutely insane. Told me the story of snape, the tragedy, the pain the insane backstory ! Mixed with perfect music and editing. The sfx and transitions in there wtf perfection
Exceeded every expections. A Snape video must be so hard to make with so few content and I am amazed at how well understood the character is in this video.
Even seeing the movies multiple times, it felt like rediscovering Severus again. The little and subtle details (Bellatrix' quote and Snape's bullying, Snake's transition, Snape's quote about wanting to stop and giving his final breath but also his fight for lily and harry being the best of him) of this video are absolutely marvelous, each unravelling Snape's personnality even more. All of this build-up made your ending of Snape's memories and this video the most achieved piece on Snape ever, the very best.

"Nagini....Kill..." I saw the movies for the first time a few years ago, and I've never read any of the books up until just recently I've been binging on them on audible, since the upload of this video I've been coming back time and time again to watch this. Since I saw the movies first every character in the book and my mind they were portrayed by their actors in the movies... Needless to say Severus's fate was even harder for me to get through in the book since all I saw was Alan Rickman... Thank you so much for this beautiful video
