Hello. I am currently trying the vinegar/peroxide. The base metals are dissolving but there is a white sandy precipitate falling. When I filter the foils will this material incinerate?
Only other thing you need on your thumbnail is a big red arrow pointing to the gold bar and maybe change title to say something catchy that makes people wonder what the end result is, like “You won’t believe how much gold was recovered from this….” Or “You won’t believe what I refined to get this much gold!”, And then you’ll have yourself some good clickbait and maybe even a viral video. I would love to see that happen for you. You so deserve many many views. I know it may not be your thing to do something like that but I figured I would suggest it as it is found to work and truthful clickbait is ok, the lying clickbait is not. Anyway, was just a thought I had that I wanted to share. It came to mind because your current thumbnail almost had all those elements.

I know my random thought may not sit well with some people, but it’s something I think if it is done right, could help spread your videos a lot further and give you the visibility you deserve. I haven't come across gold Filled items in Australia. I'm sure it's around. However we tend to have 9k wich unfortunately people don't seem to realise how much actual gold quantity is in the piece. Particularly a bracelet which is machine made and costing well over $1000/$2000 Australia Dollars. And the Actual gold yield would be worth at a absolute minimum $350 Australian Dollars. And alot of people sadly have very high expectations when trying to sell their no longer 9k jewellery as most don't Evan want to pay spot price for the true weight of the actual gold content. Sometimes say Somone paid $2000 for the gold item. It's worth if lucky $100 Australian. I think it needs to be an eye opener for people. I'd prefer to have my own gold or silver of High karat. And find a old school gold Jeweller to manufacture what if like. Just get alot more value for your money that way. Cheers for the information on this show.👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺❤️
In my experience, there are three prices for a piece of gold jewelry. First there’s the retail price. That’s the price you’d pay in a fancy jewelry store. A bracelet with small diamonds, a thousand bucks in the retail jewelry store. Next there’s the resale price. The price one could expect to get if you tried to sell the bracelet as a used piece. That would be maybe $300 to $400 if you waited a while a found the right buyer. Then there’s the scrap price. I pay 80% of spot. So the thousand dollar bracelet would sell (to me, the scrap gold buyer) for about a hundred fifty. This has been my experience. In this example, it appears that the scrap buyer is a thief. But the real rip-off is paying retail markup at the fancy jewelry store.

Why didn't you use the giant Buckner funnel that a viewer sent you a long time ago? It seems like it would make filtering such large quantities of liquid easier and faster.
Question: When you were dissolving the gold the second time and you did the hydrochloric and nitric acids to form aqua regia - the gas that comes off of that reaction is colored and not clear. Does that mean you are losing some gold in vapor?
Hmm nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide are usual toxic gasses released during nitric acid reactions and sodium metabisulfite reactions, respectively. (And are why it is appropriate to wear a mask and vent fumes out of work area) As the gold is going into solution that should be just a reddish brown No2 (nitrogen dioxide) forming not any chlorauric acid boiling off.
he does not recover a single gram of copper he handles it like it was just waste, he says he can get all the copper he wants for cents, so he will not waste time or money on recovering the copper a shame isn't?
@@arch1107 Recycling center will not take the powdered form. They want it in solid form, and if you tell them you melted it into plugs or bars they will usually refuse it unless it it cut thin so they can see there is no added weight. Then you have to deal with the questions about added contamination to the melt. After all that, you will be lucky to get a good price for all that copper and work. They don't test the material beyond maybe a magnet for non-magnetics.

Hi, love your videos. I was wondering about the price on ebay for this piece in the video. Price of gold right now is 56.89$ per gram. You have 40 grams here. 56.89 X 40 = 2275$ Why do you have it on sale for 3579$ on ebay?
There will be a shift, possibly a rapid one. Who knows when. How do these things get started? I just don’t want to be caught scrambling to protect and preserve myself when everyone heads for the door at once. It’s out there, we are still finding it. But when the shift occurs it will dry up faster than water on a hot frying pan.
I have two questions: Is it possible to mechanically separate gold from the other metals to save acid? Perhaps it makes sense to add some sulfuric acid to nitric acid, as sulfuric acid is much better at dissolving steel and iron?
If you’re going to use copper like that then it should be ground to a fine powder or filings, melted into tiny particles or a much thinner foil. Increase that surface area baby!!
I've thought about that too. In my opinion, to use powdered Cu, you would need to know how much dissolved Ag you had otherwise you would risk having a pile of tiny Ag nodules with Cu cores in the bottom of the pot. The extra Cu would foul the silver cell. At least by using wide strips of Cu, the excess pieces are easier to see and extract.
I couldn't help but notice that he puts "sreetips" on everything. I wouldn't be too surprised to find out that when he takes a dump he put sreetips on it before flushing.

Around the 33 minute mark, you were rinsing with hydrochloric acid to remove the green liquid. What is the reason to rinse with acid and not just with distilled water?
i still shy away from magnetics. particularly stainless, by the time your material is ready to go to aqua regia, its full of small bits of steel that need to be manually removed. unless you dont mind them contaminating your aqua regia...

OK so I heat my fryers up at work so they filter more easily. The hotter thinner oil passes through the filter easier. I'm guessing you do the opposite because you want the liquid to meet the most resistance and hopefully catch more out of it? Totally different scenarios I know but maybe the same principles?

Possibly. The orange gas leaving the beaker probably contains fine droplets of gold.
Sulfur dioxide gas is yellow. And deadly if inhaled.

HI Sreetips! Curios, I know cementing on copper is preferred, but would it be worth it to use Brass? I have a lot of Brass sheets. If not, why?
Because brass is an alloy of 75% copper and 25% zinc. Zinc may cause the copper to cement out with the silver and contaminate the silver.

I just did a little reading and Sulfuric acid will overpower the nitric acid and make water + another byproduct.
If you’re going to use copper like that then it should be ground to a fine powder or filings, melted into tiny particles or a much thinner foil. Increase that surface area baby!!

I've thought about that too. In my opinion, to use powdered Cu, you would need to know how much dissolved Ag you had otherwise you would risk having a pile of tiny Ag nodules with Cu cores in the bottom of the pot. The extra Cu would foul the silver cell. At least by using wide strips of Cu, the excess pieces are easier to see and extract.
I couldn't help but notice that he puts "sreetips" on everything. I wouldn't be too surprised to find out that when he takes a dump he put sreetips on it before flushing.

Around the 33 minute mark, you were rinsing with hydrochloric acid to remove the green liquid. What is the reason to rinse with acid and not just with distilled water?
The acid rinses dissolved metals off the gold better than plain water

i still shy away from magnetics. particularly stainless, by the time your material is ready to go to aqua regia, its full of small bits of steel that need to be manually removed. unless you dont mind them contaminating your aqua regia...

OK so I heat my fryers up at work so they filter more easily. The hotter thinner oil passes through the filter easier. I'm guessing you do the opposite because you want the liquid to meet the most resistance and hopefully catch more out of it? Totally different scenarios I know but maybe the same principles?
Sounds right. Cooling constricts the pores in the filter paper so it’s better able to trap very fine particulate.
