I am told, though I am not certain, that this is also identical to the Kubota SZ-26 -52. Apparently they are identical other than the paint finish and a few other cosmetic updates. Perhaps your Rep can confirm. Thanks Pete for taking so much time to review these!

This is correct. Bobcat manufacturers the stand on and walk behind mowers for Kubota. I own the 52” Kubota stand on and I love it

They are a identical machine except for paint color and stickers

Awesome to hear. My new Kubota 52” Stand On literally just got delivered yesterday. It is just for my home use, but I have never had anything but a ride-on tractor so I am super excited to see how much more efficient my mowing becomes. I have just over three acres but a ton of trees and landscaping to navigate.

Looks like the Kubota has a hgzt3600 transmission. Bob cat has the hgzt3400. A little better transmission in the Kubota. Wonder why bobcat would build the Kubota better? Anyone have thoughts on this?

i run the original bobcat quickcat. I like the safety switch. allows you to hope off and grab a stick or piece of trash right next to it with everything still running and not kill the machine. also, the floor pan folds up and you are able to use the machine as a walk behind or load on trailer

It's been so interesting watching this series. I owned a couple of these back when they were green and it sounds like they've improved a few things and a few things have stayed the same. On my machines the hydro's were so sensitive and twitchy it almost made them dangerous. If you sneezed while mowing it would jump wildly, even to the point where it was easy for the machine to get into a strange rhythm where it started bucking wildly and the only way to stop it was to step off and let it die. I was always impressed with the striping and maneuverability of the Bobcat. It was great on very smooth small yards because it was very quick to turn around and get up to speed. I liked the two speed settings and it was useful when training new operators but the safety switch in the handle is not my favorite. One thing I would add is that the tie-downs for the mower were great, easy to access and very useful.

    Pete,
Glad you had a chance to demo the Bobcat ZS4000. I have several of these, I have had Scag, Ferris, Exmark and Wright. Hands down I would put this mower up against any of them. The cut quality IMO blows the rest away. I have yet to have any issues with them and all have over 600 hours. You hit the nail on the head when you said there are a few things you would change but the good of the mower out weighs the few quirks. This mower is not the fastest out there but it performs at high levels and is a complete joy to use. It’s like a goat on hills (once you change the back tires, factory ones are like racing slicks ). The hydros are buttery smooth and once you get used to them man it’s a dream to use. Any way, I enjoy all your videos and pure honest reviews without bias or getting paid to promote a particular brand. That’s what makes your channel so refreshing in my opinion. Keep up the great work, God bless you and your family, stay healthy my friend !

@@stevecharles7118 wow im surprised they don't tear up, I had just accidently cut my tire on a jagged rock, switch them to turf masters. Decent so far. You are right , Those factory tires do not like wet grass one bit.

Difference between safety switch in the hand and the platform is that you can use the machine as a walk behind by folding up the platform

Air filter is a unique 500hr change design. Also knob on front adjusts the bar for hand size/ speed of machine.

this is not built by bobcat. just their name on it. bobcat was another company producing amazing machines way before they were bought out. they were green machines. backed by a 6 year, 2,000hr warranty.

@@alexthompson3635these are 100% built by Bobcat Company in Johnson Creek, WI.
You’re right, they used to be green and branded Bob-Cat. A google search will teach you everything you need to know about the acquisition, but to say Bobcat doesn’t build these is completely misinformed.

I have the Kubota model purchased back in fall 2019 that has the efi motor. Mowing a 1.5 acre lot. I have about 150 hours on the mower in south Georgia mowing a common bermuda grass. Great mower & handles my lot easily. Quickest machine in the subdivision of 8 homes. Haven't had a single issue. Gripes are some of the things pointed out in this video. First, I replaced the deck height pin with a simple through pin with a retainer clip. The factory one would bounce out on occasion & my yard is pretty smooth. Another thing i if you bump the deck too hard on something, the chains on the deck may bind. Just walk around the mower & ensure your deck chains are in order. The safety in the handle is terrible. So annoying, I zipped tied it closed. If anyone other than me is going to use the machine, I remove the zip tie. It is extremely annoying safety feature. If I simple step off the mchine for a second to pick up a stick, it shouldn't be so cumbersome to get back on the machine and go again. The only other problem area is if you let the grass get too tall, the deck will clump the grass. You can't go too fast in tall grass as the grass will build up right at the back of the exit chute & release a small clump. The machine is great if you keep mowing every 10 days or less. Anything longer you chance clumping. Overall a 8/10. Best mower I've ever had.

Start mowing within 7 days . And wide mower will clump if grass is to high. Also hard on engine, belts , spindles. Use your head man
