awesome tip. i am getting ready to replace some shingles and ridge caps that were blown off last night. i made sure i bought some sealant to do this exact thing.
thanks for all of the DIY tips. i went through some of your other videos. do you have one for replacing ridge caps that were blown off but in the middle of the row? more specifically, the last one at the top where i have to nail it down under the remaining cap. hope that makes sense.

@@AurumRoofing i did see that video but i did not see where it shows how to install the last cap. i assume that it has to go under the cap that was not blown off. i saw this one but it seems like water could get under the caps since they overlap what i think is the wrong way.

i will do what the person did in the video you sent with the square and 4 nails. i will prob do a slight angle so i do not have to cut off the edges after the caps are installed. just worried i might cut too deep since i know this stuff takes skill to do correctly.
      thanks again

Nevermind the video link I sent. The angle of the video looked to me like a hip and not the ridge even though the title said ridge. Anyway I can see how this should be ok for a ridge. I installed the shingles this am and was able to gently lift the hip cap to get 4 nails in the last replacement hip cap.
Not having done this, I was worried about tearing the existing cap while I nailed down the new one. No problem and very easy.
I also found a couple more shingles in the same area that had not been blown off but had been lifted enough that some of the nail heads tore through shingles. So there is about a 3/8 and then you could see the nail head. I added new nails and a load of sealant on each hole. Hopefully that is ok to do.
I am going to get my blower up there tomorrow morning and seal any lifting shingles.
      Thanks again.
