    Time to Strip!
Watch while we dismantle a wrecked Outlander PHEV Aspire. Note this vehicle had frame damage and was a statutory write off meaning it could never again be road registered in Australia.
Yes, you will get to see all the high voltage equipment removed including the valuable but unfeasibly small traction battery.

I don't think anyone has done a teardown video of the Outlander PHEV yet. Most fascinating to see what is obstructing the 3rd row and the odd location of the electric heater core. Also this is the first time I think I saw the underbody of the car as well.
I think with this it is safe to say Mitsubishi did not initially plan for the Outlander to receive a PHEV variant from the get-go given how things are placed within the car. This is unlike the VW e-Golf or GTE which have better layouts given the MQB platform it was built on was designed with electrification in mind. However given how successful Mitsubishi has had with with Outlander PHEV and now having the financial power from parent owner Nissan & Renault (both of which develop full EVs) one has to wonder how Mitsubishi would improve on the next generation Outlander PHEV...or possibly Outlander BEV.

You guys work well as a team! Incredibly complex machine ...maybe too complex. It looks same model my 2014 PHEV.

Sad video to watch as I have a 2017 PHEV, however, it does show how well made the car is made andit has not put a foot wrong in the four years I've owned it. Can't believe that Mitsubishi will not be exporting to the UK in future, because I'd have another like a shot.
