Its not an easy job upstaging a season 2 from 1 when it comes to ANY show. Especially if the first season is a major success. But Fleabag, for me, is one of those shows that succeed with that.
A friend of mine shared her Amazon account with me, and I had just seen a couple of episodes on cable, so, the first thing I thought was that I had to watch this show. I just loved it soooo much, it made me feel sad when it reached the end, it really did. I was hoping that there would be a 3rd season, so, I've been looking for info for the last 30 minutes till found this...Makes me more sad, but I totally understand why it wont happen. I also want to say that she took my breath away with her performance, all the cast did, but mostly was her. Gosh, the way the priest kissed her, so passionate, it made me feel chills, made me smile. I will watch it again , for sure. EVERYBODY MUST DO IT!!

season 2 of fleabag is my favourite season of any series i ever watched and it’s only 6 episodes. the priest and fleabag are so bittersweet and i am not lying when i say this universe consumed me and not a day goes by where i dont think about those two characters
Love her! Fleabag season 2 for me is perfection and I haven't been blown away by tv series like this for quite some time! Really happy for Emmy recognitions and wish her all the best in the future! And of course I will get the book! Oh, and seeing fox will never be the same again :)
You know, I made that same observation earlier today with my cousin. I haven't even watched the show yet, minus a couple of clips and fan vids; but I said the reason why it's so interesting is that you have this character break the fourth wall in a very specific way and then suddenly in season 2, a character comes round that you know is important by the fact that they can see through the b.s. and distance and can feel and glean those asides that the main character is indulging in. All of a sudden it affects the narrative in a huge way that is still so compelling. I need to binge already.
I almost didn’t watch fleabag because of the initial filthiness. Which turned out to be superficially filthy but subverting into beauty. By the end of season two I was bawling with sympathy and deep catharsis. I think it actually helped heal part of my trauma. And the writing is gorgeous. Checkov’s guns all fired. The connections and realizations they cause! The depth between the lines through time and what they imply. The cognitive effect was deeply beautiful. I hope there isn’t a season 3. Because the story is perfect.
I googled "Fleabag season 3" like 2 hours ago and I see this on my recommendations. I know they 'exchange' infos but,,,, it still hits you how quick and appearent they do

I discovered Killing Eve and Fleabag last month and I binged watched both series. To say Phoebe is a talented writer would be the biggest understatement of the Century. She’s freaking brilliant
Phoebe, you and the cussing priest should make a trip to Rome to visit the pope and make your case for priests being allowed to marry. Your second season was one of the best series ever. I rate it right up there with Seinfeld and Veep.. The cussing priest was an absolute stroke of genius. Sorry you're not coming back for more. Could you possibly do a spinoff starring the cussing priest and follow his religious duties as he counsels 30 something single ladies. That would be a grade A hit.
I fell for the show in the third episode, understanding the why's/who's/etc. To hear it might have ended first season is scary ! It 's far too good to stop, it has a LOT of possibilities. When you see how great season 2 is, you can see why this show has "legs' and could go on a while, and Not lose creativity or plot. Now, if season 1 stopped at a good finale, season 2 is needing more from what went on, and I hope it goes on to at least season 3. I know, I like favorite shows to come to a conclusive, satisfying end, but I love these characters so much , and would miss the writing, acting, production, directing, etc. so much. It's your call P W-B, but please, your audience definitely awaits you !! Thanks.
Just finished the series and it was amazing. Loved killing eve too, just amazing writing all around. I have theory about why priest was able to see her fourth wall breaks during the second season, I think she was actually talking to god, but didn’t realize it. I know she’s an atheist and doesn’t believe in it, but I believe she needed to talk to someone about what had happened and how she was trying to move forward with her life after such a tragedy and this omnipresent aura was always close her listening to her. The priest being so close to god was able to see her doing it.
phoebe is so good at giving anecdotes that jimmy didn't talk over her for nearly the entire story. she probably set some sort of record or something.

Phoebe, you and the cussing priest should make a trip to Rome to visit the pope and make your case for priests being allowed to marry. Your second season was one of the best series ever. I rate it right up there with Seinfeld and Veep.. The cussing priest was an absolute stroke of genius. Sorry you're not coming back for more. Could you possibly do a spinoff starring the cussing priest and follow his religious duties as he counsels 30 something single ladies. That would be a grade A hit.

I fell for the show in the third episode, understanding the why's/who's/etc. To hear it might have ended first season is scary ! It 's far too good to stop, it has a LOT of possibilities. When you see how great season 2 is, you can see why this show has "legs' and could go on a while, and Not lose creativity or plot. Now, if season 1 stopped at a good finale, season 2 is needing more from what went on, and I hope it goes on to at least season 3. I know, I like favorite shows to come to a conclusive, satisfying end, but I love these characters so much , and would miss the writing, acting, production, directing, etc. so much. It's your call P W-B, but please, your audience definitely awaits you !! Thanks.
Just finished the series and it was amazing. Loved killing eve too, just amazing writing all around. I have theory about why priest was able to see her fourth wall breaks during the second season, I think she was actually talking to god, but didn’t realize it. I know she’s an atheist and doesn’t believe in it, but I believe she needed to talk to someone about what had happened and how she was trying to move forward with her life after such a tragedy and this omnipresent aura was always close her listening to her. The priest being so close to god was able to see her doing it.
