Did you notice they did all that in one take? I am astonished on these "evolutions" at how adept they are at transitions. I mean, they can change in one single beat the lead, the key, the time signature, the tempo, the dynamic and the style without blinking. And they do it over a dozen times in these things. Anything they do it wonderful there is no such thing as a mediocre PTX number, the one that makes me cry even after literally more than a hundred times is Imagine, though I think Amazing Grace, a fairly recent release is stunning. But maybe look at one of their originals instead of a cover, I really like "Happy Now".
Pentatonix (PTX) members have an incredible work ethic and will not release anything unless Scott thinks it is perfect. He is a perfectionist. Not only did you get "Mitch slapped". Yes, this is an incredible mashup of many MJ hits. This has been a favorite Evolution video of mine for years, along with their Evolution of Music (first evolution they did), and their Evolution of Beyonce. With Matt, my favorite is Evolution of Rihanna. Mitch and Scott, in their duo group Superfruit do a couple great mashups, including Empire Medley (songs from the TV show Empire), and two videos - Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1 & 2, which are really fun and beautifully sung. Reactions to any of those would be great.
All their Evolution medleys are pretty epic! And to be completely honest you could probably react to any of their songs and we will enjoy it 🥰. You might like their performance at the 2017 Grammys. They performed a Jackson 5 tribute. I’ve not seen a really good video of the live performance, so you might not want to ‘react’ to it, but rather just watch it for your own enjoyment. Scott said in a Superfruit episode that Rihanna commented to them that she heard Mitch in rehearsals for the show and wondered who was singing.
Basically, throw a dart at a list of Pentatonix videos and you will hit gold. FYI, their several Christmas albums have some incredible non-Christmasy songs on them. Although to be fair, I listen to everything they do year round. Hmmm.... favorites would be Coffee in Bed, Shallow, Say Something, Favorite Things.
For a quick fast forward, you might check out their cover of "Seasons of Love," from Rent. They are so together, so polished, after ten years of singing together as a group, and five or more years before that, singing togehter as a trio that they are seamless. Also, from this last summer, 2021, they dropped another medley, "90's Dance Songs." Then, go back and start the journey from the beginning, from the Sing=Off, Season 3. It's the journey all of us have been on, regardless of when we discovered them. It's a great ride. We'd love to take it all over again with you!

It is almost impossible to choose which song of theirs you should do next. I agree with others regarding "Imagine" and "Bohemian Rhapsody". Both are mind blowing. For some of the most stunning, ethereal harmonies you will ever hear. "Mary, Did You Know?" was my virgin (Get it?) PTX experience. It was among the most beautiful things I've ever heard. The second one I got hooked on was their version of "Say Something". Unbelievable! And as an old fart, I had never heard the original artists' versions of either, so it was PTX that set the standard by which all will be measured.
Our boy knows his terms 😂. I've got Mitch-slapped the last time at "Amazing Grace". And I should be used to it. I favor a lot if the older ones, like "can't sleep love", "run to you" (I would recomnent both versions here), aha! (the star Vista live version), "Valentine".
All their Evolutions are amazing.The arrangements are so complex that I usually go though them to see what each one is doing individually. How the trio switch from singing lead to harmony in their next breath is amazing and Kevin and Avi's ability to carry the rhythm and make the changes is mindblowing.

You should see them do this (and three other songs) live on a performance of "Popspring," for the Jimmie Kimmel Show. They were backed up with several drummers for dramatic effect (provided by the producer) and, of course, they interfere with the song, rather than enhance it, but it isn't until the end of the performance, so it doesn't completely ruin things. Check it out! Really super performance of a few original songs, too. Recommend it. (BTW, subscribed a few songs ago. You are turning into my favorite reviewer.

For some of the most stunning, ethereal harmonies you will ever hear. "Mary, Did You Know?" was my virgin (Get it?) PTX experience. It was among the most beautiful things I've ever heard. The second one I got hooked on was their version of "Say Something". Unbelievable! And as an old fart, I had never heard the original artists' versions of either, so it was PTX that set the standard by which all will be measured.

Our boy knows his terms 😂. I've got Mitch-slapped the last time at "Amazing Grace". And I should be used to it.
I favor a lot if the older ones, like "can't sleep love", "run to you" (I would recomnent both versions here), aha! (the star Vista live version), "Valentine".
All their Evolutions are amazing.The arrangements are so complex that I usually go though them to see what each one is doing individually. How the trio switch from singing lead to harmony in their next breath is amazing and Kevin and Avi's ability to carry the rhythm and make the changes is mindblowing.

There are other "Evolution" songs, one for music itself! They are so expert at the transitions from one song to the next, then sung in one take, no mistakes.

You should see them do this (and three other songs) live on a performance of "Popspring," for the Jimmie Kimmel Show. They were backed up with several drummers for dramatic effect (provided by the producer) and, of course, they interfere with the song, rather than enhance it, but it isn't until the end of the performance, so it doesn't completely ruin things. Check it out! Really super performance of a few original songs, too. Recommend it. (BTW, subscribed a few songs ago. You are turning into my favorite reviewer.
