I have had this camera since 2016 and I have used it for my overseas holiday and actually used it as a backup camera on commercial photography jobs and the photos have been used in corporate marketing and look absolutely perfect. My normal work camera is a Canon 1DX and I have found the Lumix camera to be a valuable asset in the kit as a back up unit and of course it’s an absolutely fantastic holiday travel camera.
Great video! It held a lot of information that a "regular" consumer like me could understand. Other videos I watched were only for camera-pros.. so thank you! :)
nice review - yes the ZS100 is a an awesome travel camera - yes the Sony RX100m3/4 might do a bit better in low light - but $950 so $250 more and the 4k is worthless as the RX100m4 overheats in warm weather at 3min and has a 5min max 4k per clip and after one 3-5min clip you have to wait and wait for it to cool down - while the ZS100 has no heating problem what so ever - The 25-250mm range is super practical - I find the sensor do super well - I do have the Sony RX100 and RX100m4 and the Canon G7X and G3X all with the one inch sensor - to me the RX100m4 and the ZS100 have the best IQ - I am amazed how well the ZS100 does in low light as the lens is not as bright as that of the RX100m/2/3/4 and the G7X - they control the noise super super well - I love how Panasonic have put in all the features of the GX series in the ZS100 - the timeless - the 4K modes and the post focus - all the filters and sense modes and the super nice Touch LCD and the Soft FN keys - the ZS100 is just loaded with good stuff - Only thing I wished it had was a Flip LCD - but hopefully in next update - but otherwise a brilliant little camera
How well did the microphone work? I'm looking at this because I want a better camera for recording concerts because my iPhone 8 stinks in low light, and the external mic I use with it failed recently.
I'm looking for a decent camera that's portable to take with me for hiking/nature photography but also something that functions well for casual traveling with family. I've narrowed it down between the panasonic zs100 or the canon G7X Mark II. What would you recommend for my specific lifestyle? Does one seem to have better overall imaging? Would love to get any kind of feedback! Cheers!
I'm not ready to spend the money for the V, cut off is definitely that $700mark. I think the big selling point for me is that extra zoom on the g7x mark 2. I feel like it might come in handy along the trails. But the canon and the rx100 iv like you said both seem fairly equal so it's hard to pick!
Nice descriptive presentation. I needed a replacement for my old Lumix TZ-10 and wanted a larger MOS and lower f-stop setting, especially for low-light photos taken while mounted to a tripod. The zoom function is not a priority, so a bit less than the TZ-10 isn't a problem. And, as other comments seem to find lacking, a tilting display is not a grave necessity. Since I've always been a Panasonic fan, the TZ-101 looked great, but the price was too high ... until I recently found a new one for €349. I'm still playing with it and it's clearly not as simple as the TZ-10, but it's really just a matter of getting used to it. The apparent functions are splendid. Additionally, although ZEISS lenses are nice, I prefer LEICA. So I think this TZ-101 will suit me just fine.
Awesome review. Nice view from the building top! I'm between this and Sony HX90v. I watched your review on that. Mostly would use for concert footage (often not the best seats) and travel videos. Love the image quality of the bigger sensor, not sure I want to give up 30x zoom though. Any thoughts? Thank you!
Nice camera, but I want one with "it all". 4k with zoom out to ~600mm, but that doesn't all exist in one camera yet. I think I will go with the Sony HX80 that does have the SUPER zoom out to I think 720mm. Maybe not the best quality at 700mm, but still nice to have for the times I want it. Someday there will be a 24-700 4k camera.
+LambentLizard I own the R100 and RX100m4 and the ZS100 - I say it totally rivals that of the Sony RX100m3/m4 in image quality - I think it does a bit better than the RX100m3 - as it has a more powerful processor - and of course so does the RX100m4 - I am very impressed how it handles noise - of course these cameras have just a 1 inch sensor - but it is terrific - I find that Canon lags behind - images are not as crisp and clean on their G3X and G7X -
Take all video scenes as a good example of the image stabilizer. For instance the first part on the tower, when we were zooming into the towers, that was hand held as well. Daniel
Hey there, do you need 4K? Most of the people out there, just think that they need 4K, but most of them actually don`t. But it depends where you want to broadcast your yoga session. Indeed, I would go for the Canon G7X MK II. I do have the ZS100, and I`m proud to call it my own, but, sometimes I miss the flips creen, just to see myself. On the other hand, the G7X MK II offers that flip screen, it has 1080p with up 60fps for a nice fluent video recording and it has a better lens in terms of low light with it`s F1.8-F2.8 aperture. So in this case I would go for the Canon camera. I hope that helps you
good and comprehensive review! thanks! I want to confirm whether this camera could shoot at 1920x1080 100fps as FZ1000 as spec told it could only shoot at 720 p 100 fps
Hi and thanks for review! I'm very interested in the item, just a couple of questions. Is it possible to switch between pal and ntsc video mode? What can you tell me about shutter lag time? This is very important and I cannot find it. Thanks so much.
+Blade Hey there, sorry sorry sorry for the late answer. Did not find the option between PAL and NTSC but it should be possible, but can`t promise. Like pressing the shutter till it shoots?
Hallo Daniel, Eine nette Besprechung. Zwei Fragen hätte ich: Ist im 4K-Videomodus die kleinste Brennweite noch immer 25mm? Zweite Frage bin ich vergessen.... Danke
why would you want a camera to film if there´s not gonna be movement? I haven´t seen any sports or lots of action being filmed but from you shared i can already tell video is flawed...same as other panasonic choices i´ve been researching, too bad... I´ll keep looking...Should do video with consistent, continuos focusing, without artifacts, moiree or whatever one calls it... it´s unpresentable when filming is shown with this camera
this camera is not meant for fucking vloggers you piece f shit. want a vlogging camera use you phone. these cameras are no where near for vlogging. get the fuck out of here

One of the best reviews of this camera. Great style, no fluff. Excellent.
Great review. Enjoyed your presentation. Well done.
Thanks a lot. Daniel
Not a word about the view finder..... What a review, WOW :(
Great video! It held a lot of information that a "regular" consumer like me could understand. Other videos I watched were only for camera-pros.. so thank you! :)
Hey,
thank you very much.
Kind regards,

Wow lot of informations without bullshit. Thank you
You are welcome and thank you very much. Daniel

+Jon Hermannsson you are absolutely right. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
Hi raver 🙋♂️I bought this camera for my go to concerts/festivals I like it a lot better then taking photos/video on your phone.
How well did the microphone work? I'm looking at this because I want a better camera for recording concerts because my iPhone 8 stinks in low light, and the external mic I use with it failed recently.
Matt Spence well if you ask me I love this camera for it. Probably a little better then the I phone not to much but is decent enough (microphone)

What are you planning to spend? I would go with the G7X II, Sony RX100 IV OR V. DANIEL

The Zoom is a bit better on the G7X II. The Canon is more easy and intuitive to use. The final footage seems to look a bit better on the Sony. Daniel
Adam Claus
Plqnning to bjy an almost brand new preloved zs100. Is it still worth it in 2023?
Hey. Would go for the Sony HX99. Daniel
Heyyy I am following... Are you able to do a review for sony hx99?😅

4:43 the video look like from 20 years ago.
Well, not so long ago.
Daniel
I was looking for a review like this. Thanks! Sub.
+Jhoel Mav super. Thanks for subbing, Daniel
great review, simple to follow! one question please - does the flash unit tilt back for bouncing?
Hey, thanks a lot. You may try it, but I wouldn`t comment, Daniel
does it have a mic input?
Top review ..... glad I have chosen this camera.
+Tim Bennett thanks a lot sir. Many greetings from Frankfurt am Main
Can this camera record video and be powered by USB charger at the same time and not draining the battery?
Awesome review. Nice view from the building top! I'm between this and Sony HX90v. I watched your review on that. Mostly would use for concert footage (often not the best seats) and travel videos. Love the image quality of the bigger sensor, not sure I want to give up 30x zoom though. Any thoughts? Thank you!
Y tu que camara estas usando para este video.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Thanks for sharing this. How is the stabilization compared to Canon G7X M2?
Hi Daniel. Great review. Have you reviewed the Lumix DMC-TX90? How do you think this would compare to the DMC-TX100? Thanks Karin
Danke, Daniel. Muito boa sua explanation da camera. Vou comprar uma dessas para viagens.
+Marco Romeiro Very welcome. Cheers and kind regards

+SnareMan How about a bridge camera?
+the daniel life What do you mean by a bridge camera?
like the FZ300 by Panasonic?
+the daniel life I already have both a P&S and an SLR (actually now a Sony Mirrorless) so I don't need the bridge.
Get the FZ300
Good quick review, thumbs up =)
+B Adventures Travel Vlogs thanks
How would you compare this to the RX100 3/4? Do you like the image quality
+LambentLizard Hey, at the moment there is no chance for the RX100
the daniel life Thanks
If there is a chance, it will be at the end of this month, we`ll see. Cheers
+LambentLizard I own the R100 and RX100m4 and the ZS100 - I say it totally rivals that of the Sony RX100m3/m4 in image quality - I think it does a bit better than the RX100m3 - as it has a more powerful processor - and of course so does the RX100m4 - I am very impressed how it handles noise - of course these cameras have just a 1 inch sensor - but it is terrific - I find that Canon lags behind - images are not as crisp and clean on their G3X and G7X -
Jon Hermannsson Thanks for your input! I am definitely leaning towards the ZS100 now.
thanks..great info!
Thanks a lot. Daniel
the stabilization test?
Did you see the vlogging part?
at 4.44 time... ok, thanks... but is too short...
Take all video scenes as a good example of the image stabilizer. For instance the first part on the tower, when we were zooming into the towers, that was hand held as well.
Daniel
Great video, not too long.
Thank you very much for watching.
Daniel and Merry Christmas.
thanks Daniel !

good and comprehensive review! thanks! I want to confirm whether this camera could shoot at 1920x1080 100fps as FZ1000 as spec told it could only shoot at 720 p 100 fps
+ngaihong mok it really dos shoot 1080p with a framerate of 100fps. The ZS60 shoots only in 720p with 100fps
Great review. If only it did have a flippable screen and it looks like the 200 will not have a flip screen either.
Hi and thanks for review!

+BRC chemie hallo,
bin mir nicht zu 100% sicher, glaube aber, dass es bei 25mm keinen Crop gab.
LG Daniel
sony hsx60 or panasonic tz80 ?? ı need take video and n shake and good photo
Good question. I like that Panasonic is up-to-date but Sony has a great photo quality. Daniel
Welche Kamera und Linse hast du für dieses Videos benutzt?
Hallo,
schau mal da.
ruclips.net/video/AWCn8vg-QYA/видео.html
Is autofocus fast?
No OIS in 4K mode? Why?...
+hellomyphone UNFORTUNATELY YES. Ask Panasonic, no idea why. Maybe because of the sensor size.
could eliminate or lower the background music . . . I need to focus on what you are saying
Who feel nervous when hold the camera on the top of building without a strap?
No one 😅
Still waiting for false world review
okay :)(:
Three words: No flippable display.
one word - "unfortunately"
Yes :)
4 words: U Suck at Selfies.
If it only had a tilting screen 😪
I know. But at the end it does not feature a tilt screen. Daniel
the daniel life I dont know how panasonic didn't add that. Should I go for LX10? Or is there a better camera?
@@salmanbilleth529 Sony RX100 Miii
keep clean the park dont talk too much
Haha thanks I will
Looks like autofocus in video mode is pathetic! Definitely not a vloggers camera in my opinion!
+djiatro Hey there, when you`re not moving the entire time it will work pretty good
+djiatro still better as on the Canon g7x
Correct, did not think about that
why would you want a camera to film if there´s not gonna be movement?
