- We went to Ironbridge near Telford for a lovely afternoon in the sunshine.
*Of course this video is a little tongue in cheek, I don't hate motorcyclists (they're usually lovely people and deep down I would like to be a biker). I absolutely love dogs too, I've grown up with dogs all my life, I'm just not a fan of people who don't control their small yappy dogs in otherwise peaceful locations. It's sad I have to put this disclaimer.

I never thought I would be eagerly watching two people eating a pork pie in silence while they watched the traffic but here we are ! haha
We loved visiting Ironbridge but once you've done things there, you're all done. Everything closes around 5pm and it's so quiet. Only saving grace was a damn fine fish and chip shop and the bus service for a tootle around the area.

Barnsley lass here. Pork pies should be warm. Memories of Barnsley Market pie and pea stand. Warm pork pie with mushy peas and mint sauce. Heaven...and cheap.
I went to iron bridge on a school trip in 1988 and accidentally dropped my pack lunch off the bridge, an A - Team lunch box… I wonder where it ended up? My teacher ended up buying me a burger and all the other kids were so jealous 😅

The meat in that pork pie looked very grey to me. If you want a top notch pork pie, get yourself to Percy Turners in Jump. Unbeatable imho.
If you pay a visit to maison du bierre at the Elsecar Heritage Centre on a Thursday night you'll get free pie and peas. Nigel the owner gets them from Percy Turners, just buy one of the excellent beers on offer and the pie and peas are free. You and Helen would love it there.

😂😂 funniest video to date, you couldn't make this up...yapping dogs, noisy motorbikes, & cars, getting the date of the bridge wrong, Helen talking on her phone while James is giving out info....very funny , Benny Hill would be proud. ( On a serious note, please try the cinnamon powder and honey in hot water...a natural anti inflammatory recipe and it works ) ps..got the wife hooked on you two now 😂 keep doing what your doing, it's natural and entertaining.

It just gets better! love this ,nice to see heli bobs again ,my husband worked in Leeds ,and one of the construction lads lived in Barnsley,and brought him pies from a highly recomended butcher every week ,never touched any other pie since ! Harley’s are noisy ,but a sound I am so familiar with , both of you carry on being you ,some pain killers can give you acid ,see you again soon 🤗

Always love seeing you two together on an adventure or stroll through a city. Helen, what's your skin care routine, you have a lovely complexion. It's heating up here as well, yep, just have to get use to it. I take my walks in the early morning now. Thanks for the tour of Ironbridge.

Lovely place. ❤. I know Helen is a bit young for a new hip but she should consider for the near future. The pain is debilitating I know, I would check waiting lists for your areas and if long get on there soon. Best thing I ever did, mobile and pain free, coming up to nine years now. They can last about 15 years now.

Thanks for this blog. A few weeks back while travelling in my motorhome. I stayed free in pub carpark at the next bridge down(the actual road bridge). They had a section just for vans and motorhomes.

Last week I had pork pie and mushy peas at home and I was surprised to discover that I didn't have any mint sauce. Eek! However, I did have a jar of sweet mint jelly, so i decided to give that a go instead. Oh my! It was delicious. So from now on it's going to be the condiment of choice to accompany pie and peas.
Don't knock it, until you've tried it ;-).
Liked the look of that place and once again, an entertaining video. I detected that both of you were somewhat floundering with the heat so imagine how a 71 year old guy with Cardiac failure and Diabetes would cope. I still get around though, thanks to my son but yes, fatigue and breathlessness are not good when you step out of your front door on a hot day... LOVE TO BOTH OF YOU x.

I have so many happy memories of Ironbridge, as a student in Wolverhampton. My friend lived in the house near to the bridge, next to the one for sale and it is one of my favourite places x

The hip op is really easy and after not even being able to lift my foot up onto my footrest I am now riding my motorbike with ease! Really Helen, it's so worth doing, you wouldn't be sorry 😊

We were in Ironbridge the week before you visited. The Ironbridge pasties from the pork pie shop are really lovely as well as the pork pies. We sat on the same bench as you when ate your ice cream, but we had a pasty. It is a beautiful place to visit and is only about 25 mins from where I live. Helen, I hope you feel better, you could tell you were not feeling yourself.

Fantastic vlog. Ironbridge looks a fantastic little place. Another of my favourite channels, Wandering by choice, went there several weeks back and it was so much quieter. I think Shropshire looks fabulous and I’ve never been but definitely should. There were some stunning cottages but let me tell you, living in a tourist hotspot is a pain in the backside 😮😂

Just watched the Ironbridge one James and Helen, really enjoyed it, got to agree about the road noise but this is a place me and my husband have been saying we need to visit, I don’t know what I thought it would be like but it wasn’t what I thought but it looks beautiful, so it is definitely one for this summer 😄 we’re just watching your Southport one now.
I hope Helen feels better soon, probably the hot weather we are having, but it always comes with humidity. Thats why people with arthritic problems do so well in Spain, humidity is way lower.

Poor Helen, she was a good sport but I know, first-hand, how much long walks can aggravate a tired & cranky hip. I share her feelings about hip surgery as I have already had one hip done. Nice village for a walk-through; thanks for taking us.

Great video, really enjoyed it. I live very close to Ironbridge and always avoid it when it's busy but it is a beautiful place. I still find it strange looking at the scenery with it not being dominated by the power station that was removed a few years ago. You used to be able to see the massive cooling towers above the trees.
You guys did miss a bit of a trick though by not visiting Blists Hill, it's a bit like Beamish and it's a great open air museum. can easily fill most of your day (and certainly a full video) having a wander around there.

Go to sheltons bakery in Hemsworth for a warm pork pie.... not far from tarn and the best I've ever had. Get there early as they sell out fast.

The whole of the severn valley is beautiful and glad you visited ironbridge. You should head down to bridgenorth which is also a lovely place with a high and low town connected by a cliff railway .head to bewdley too and the best way to see the severn valley is by train on the steam rly .great vid
