Hi James another good video I always think of st annes as a bit more POSH I spent many a summer in lytham when we were young I will always remember meeting Led Dawson on the central pier he was having a pint in the family bar and me and my younger brother shook hands with him on the pier he was so friendly to everyone and a lovely man we were young kids but he had time for us nice memories I miss them days anyway lovely to see u both .😉🍺🍸👋👋👍❤
You would get some decent quality stuff in the likes of Lytham charity shops as you get a lot of wealthy retirees who then pass on and their stuff goes to charity. belongings end up in charity shops.
This - more than any other video on any other channel - drove home how much I'm heartened by the failing ' keep Sundays special ' movement. As you walked down the street in Lytham St. Annes I felt the confinement and God's waiting toom vibe which was Sundays in the seventies. I loved, and I felt so alive and invigorated, by the sight of so many shops open. Bakeries; charity shops; and the like. ( If you get the time ) look-up an episode of ' Hancock's Half Hour ' . It captures PERFECTLY the relentless boredom of a traditional Sunday. NOTHING was open. And I mean nothing! Just....observing. Last thing, James and Helen: thank god for this channel and for you two. You are just it for me. Love, love, love this channel!!
That was funny, I say lets have a video from Helen and she can take us charity shopping ...Please Helen !! James can be in the background with the camera...Looks a beautiful place !!!
Lytham is a lovely place. 10 minutes up the road is Blackpool and the difference is stark. Blackpool is a dump but Lytham is beautiful. I love these vlogs. You’s are great.
What a fabulous video once again, I loved it and how ironic that 3 of our guests this week in our guest house in Keswick, all unknown to each other were from Lytham and it is on our list to go, we have many great pub and restaurant recommendations from locals. We also once travelled from Keswick to Lytham to buy a 2001 Mondeo Estate from a family garage and it was the best car that we had for years - the highlight was also seeing a Rolls Royce with the Registration O4VIL and it was Keith Harris (of Orvil fame just in case I need to elaborate) driving. Unfortunately Orvil had gone to Teddy heaven by that time so Keith was probably still grieving. THAT BABY ALSO DID LOOK VERY POORLY AND BORED and DOREEN DAGGER sounds like she was in the adult film business. You need to go to North Leverton Windmill, not all have been converted.
Wow, this brought back memories. I used to live in Lytham-St Annes from 2012 to 2015. I lived in the St Annes part on Victoria Road in a flat that had a balcony. My entire family has history on the Fylde coast as my late father owned a B&B in Blackpool in the 1970s and he moved to Zambia for work and gave the B&B to my grandparents. They ran it for a few years and then moved to St Annes in retirement opposite Ashton Gardens, where I remember playing golf with my grandad when I was about 5. One of my friends runs Lytham St Annes Estate Agents you looked at in the window. He owns racehorses and is quite wealthy. Lots of ten-bob millionaires in Lytham and retired people with purple rinsed hair. After 10.00 p.m it is like a ghost town. Near where you ended the video further up is Fairhaven Lake you can get a boat on and opposite that is the house where George Formby lived. There is am 'infamous' blue plaque to commemorate that.
Hi James and Helen. Great video. We were there on Sunday just gone. Great place we stayed at the Dalmeny hotel which was right next to the live music one that you both went to. Take care of each other. Brilliant content
Hello James and Helen ... love your videos so good ... just started viewing ... 1st one Liverpool at the Adelphi .... so funny and Benidorm with your sister .... lots of fun .... look forward to checking out some more 😅 lx
We love both and quick ansa is Lytham bit posher lol PROPER ANSWER : - St Annes is the seaside resort with the Pier and seafront gardens. Lytham is the place with the windmill and the green on the waterfront, where the Irish Sea meets the River Ribble. Collectively they are known as Lytham St Annes. St Annes and the whole of the Fylde Coast is a fabulous place for everyone to enjoy. Go in perfume shop on corner of Lytham Square....wonderful lady runs it and there's no better choice anywhere in the world we reckon.. " go and judge for yourselves ' Great vlog xx
Hiya James and Helen honestly love ❤ watching you two you brighten up our days for sure ..... wht a beautiful place St Annes is and really enjoyed going to the beach ⛱ i would of had a black cherry clotted cream ice cream thy looked delicious 😋..... Loving the dress Helen it really suits you and looked great with your red coat had to laugh when you tied the scraf round your bag strap and James said " is that a thing " was so funny !!!!!!! The meal looked really nice looked a bit posh .... Take Care.....😊😊
Lytham & St Annes were built off the back of the success of Blackpool. All the money went there, and goes some way to explaining why it's so affluent. Part of Fylde Borough Council along with Ansdell and Fairhaven. The town hall is across the road from St Annes Pier. The yellow flowering tree at 9:25 is a laburnum.
Not been to St Annes for years now my parents would take the Family to Blackpool in the 70s but we would stay in St Annnes and travel around to Preston Chorley Wigan such a beautiful part of Great Britain
Thanks for taking us on your visits to various places I'll probably never see otherwise , hoping your channel hits 50k soon, keep going and well done😊..
Stayed at my Aunt and Uncles caravan every year there as a child, with my other Aunt and cousin, my Mum, me and my bro and my Gran x x x. Always pop there when we’ve been to Blackpool and walk down the front through the river garden bit x x x

Thanks Lee
Hi. James just thought you would like to know there is a big food and drink festival in Sunderland on the 7th, 8th, and 9th of June. There is food from a lot of different countries and different drinks to try. There is entertainment also. I know Helen and you like festivals so this could suit you. We also have a lovely seafront, There are twin resorts Roker and Seaburn, where you can get lovely Fish and Chips. There is a couple of Charity shops in the town for Helen 😊. Hope to see you both there. ❤❤
