An older brother will do anything to protect his younger sister.
Yoo Jin Kook (Park Sung Woong) is a veteran homicide detective who is getting weary of his job. The only light in his life is his younger sister, Yoo Jin Kang (Jung So Min). He dotes on her and is protective of her like a father figure ever since they lost their parents.
When Jin Kook starts investigating a suicide of a university student, he can’t help but feel that the dead student’s boyfriend, Kim Moo Young (Seo In Guk), may have been responsible for her death.
Moo Young seems like a nice guy who works at a Korean beer microbrewery, but there seems to be a dark side to him. When Moo Young meets Jin Kang and the two begin to develop a relationship, Jin Kook is determined to stop it. But can Jin Kook protect Jin Kang when she needs it the most?
“The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” is a 2018 South Korean drama series directed by Yoo Je Won. It is a remake of a 2002 Japanese drama series with the same title.

I think this is my top 1 kdrama, I'm still not over it and it's been 2 years. I still feel so moved remembering the scenes, the music, the intimacy and love the protagonists had for one another, ugh is just amazing and their acting is the best I've ever seen

I went back to watch this drama again, because he's starting in a new drama Doom at your Service on the 10th of May. Paying homage to Seo In Guk. I cried uncontrollably again, and it's so hard for me to shake this drama after 3 years. This is the most intense, emotional drama I have ever seen. These actors made you feel the pain and the angst. One drama I will never ever forget.

Re-watching this drama again after 2 years... my all time favourite, the chemistry of these two and acting is just unmatched! Seo Inguk is fantastic in everything he does.

Most underrated kdrama... Watched this countless times and still can't get enough of these 2 actors amazing work and their chemistry in this intense drama. Amazing actors, director, story... kudos to production team...
She is a really warm person i mean she handles him with carea nd with full of love and he is also ready to chage himself for her i mean this drama is a hidden gen if it was released in 2024 it will really be a big hit 🥰🥰 and all will get to know this drama
His expression at 2:35 is like Louie, when he was scolded by Bok Shil for buying too many things 😁..... oh how the tables have turned between the 2 dramas .... now “shopping king louie” 🤴 needs to be forced into shopping 🛍
