    Hi Kristin, I love this vest, I purchased BSF a few months ago and have just started this, I must tell you, I have been resistant in reading patterns since I started crocheting 2 years ago but you are right.. a combination of video and pattern is so important in learning to read patterns, thanks!!

    Hi Kristin,
    I’m making Sally in Blue Danube, loving it. So happy to see your video, I was doing it correctly!! It’s fun to crochet, easy repeat to remember. Almost halfway complete, it’s raining in CA today so hope to have a day to crochet! 💕😎

    Hello, so I understand the pattern but I don't understand the construction exactly. Which part is the bottom and top and how do you put it on? Also, did you mention how long the strips should be for each size?

    • @KristinOmdahl
      @KristinOmdahl  Год назад +1

      Did you follow the link in video description to pattern? All is explained in pattern.

  • @sandymalich

    I am 5ft tall. I am still trying to understand how to put in the arm holes and when. It takes me a long time sometimes. Do you think you could add a second video with the vest laid out entirely and show how it all came together? I am on my second strip. I love what you do.

    • @KristinOmdahl

      Thanks for your suggestion. I will add it to my list of video suggestions!

    Hi I'm fairly new to clothes making in crochet but I loved this and so I've just bought your pattern. I'm so confused because it's saying to chain 11 and I thought that was just for your sample size? Do I do multiples of 11 until I get my measured size or........? Sorry if it's a dumb question but it's my first time at attempting a pattern like this but really REALLY want to make this, I love it so much & don't want to get it wrong!

    • @KristinOmdahl
      @KristinOmdahl  3 года назад +1

      This particular pattern is made in strips that you join as you go. That is why you start with a small chain. Once you read through the pattern, you will see that the instructions tell you how big and how many strips to make, differing per size of the garment. And those strips are then joined to previous strips to create the fabric.

    Bought the yarn to make this but is it a full tutorial from beginning to end or a partial? I don’t know how to read patterns.

    • @KristinOmdahl
      @KristinOmdahl  3 года назад

      Most of my videos are supplemental tutorials to help guide you through the patterns with charts on my website.

    • @KristinOmdahl
      @KristinOmdahl  3 года назад

      Besides, this is a sized garment. You would need to determine which size of the pattern you are making to follow along with the supplemental videos.

    How can I make sure that the strips will have the perfect size without having stitches lacking or being left over? Even measuring with a tape I'm afraid of it being asymmetrical

    • @KristinOmdahl
      @KristinOmdahl  4 года назад +1

      I would count your rows so the strips are the save identical length. Hope that helps.

  • @jilllovesbeegees70
    @jilllovesbeegees70 5 лет назад +1

    Hello.. i am curious, is there a way to make this vest all the same length like the front? I am on the short side. So where would i change the strips? I know you mentioned this adjustment in the tutorial.

    • @KristinOmdahl
      @KristinOmdahl  5 лет назад

      I’m not sure I understand your question, but you can certainly add more strips to adjust the size or shape!

    • @sherit8594
      @sherit8594 5 лет назад +1

      Yes, you can. If you make the panels all equal in size, then join them equal to your shoulder to shoulder measurements.
