Another saying from the military, "slow is smooth, smooth is fast". Good video.

I've been contemplating getting into precision shooting since I was diagnosed with MS, but these rifle builds have me thinking i need to have my Wheaties because I'd have to imagine the overheating would knock me on my butt. Did you make any concessions for weight on your set up due to fatigue, or is it just heavier the better for recoil control?

@@EyesOfI I'm not sure what all symptoms you have to manage with MS but I can definitely relate to the overheating easily and fatigue. I'm in central FL so the heat is a problem almost year round. Haha they're a little intimidating aren't they?! My rifle now is 18 lbs and my preferred bags are 4&5 lbs. It seems to be my sweet spot, when I have my body conditioned for it, it's a good balance between recoil management and pacing my fatigue. (After a few months off, my first match back I could feel it lol but I was able to hang in there) But I started with a lighter build of like 14-15lbs and timed out a lot, every stage I would get slower and take less shots just due to fatigue or heat exhaustion, and have less recoil management. The weight does definitely help with recoil especially when you're fatigued, but I feel like a solid balance disbursement is just as important. Jared built me a custom weight for the front of my rifle to help with muzzle rise (hands down a life saver) so even when I'm too tired to brace with my left arm the rifle's balance and weight really does a lot for me. I'm also shooting a 6gt which has a little better recoil than his 6.5creedmoor. Jared got me a Ryobi fan that stays on me or my rifle at all times and I got 2 USB fans with the bendy legs that we keep on my bag and the tripod...I'm also not too proud to lay down on the ground in between stages and rest lol. And he got me one of those sports towels to keep around my neck or draped over my heat to stay cool. I've found a few other tricks that help prevent dehydration and make it a little more pleasant. Feel free to DM me on IG, I'm all for helping others with chronic conditions enjoy the sport 😊 my account is @caitlin.outdoors34
