@Elena Monfils The difference between Colin and Jodie is that Colin Baker LOVED Doctor Who. He cared deeply about the role and wanted to do everything he could to do the character justice. Jodie, on the other hand, couldn't even be bothered to RESEARCH the role. She said in an interview that she started to watch the show, but then decided she didn't want to learn anything from any of the past incarnations. In a show with a half-century-long history. She doesn't give half a crap and it shows through on the screen. Whereas Colin's performances could elevate an otherwise unwatchable scene, Jodie just does an undercooked impression of what she thinks seems like a quirky space traveler.

That was my favorite bit. Really loved Ten, Eleven, and Twelve. Each brought something special to the role.

An idea occurred to me that the TARDIS isn't a spacecraft or time machine in the sense we normally think it is. It's a machine within its own, self-contained Universe. that maintains a portal between its universe and other universes. When you see the Tardis flying through space, it's actually a portal that's moving through space; and similarly when its moving through time, it's the portal that moves. The TARDIS interior never moves anywhere, because it is a separate Universe. As such it cannot move in relation to anything. Perhaps this goes against Whovian lore, but I cannot escape the idea.
Oh, that's actually canon - I know because they actually describe the TARDIS exactly like that in one of the various technical manuals/companion books that got released over the years. Certainly explains why they're so complicated to make, growing a 12-dimensional pocket universe that's also technically sentient and can form connections to virtually any point in time and space isn't something you do as a weekend project.

I love how Peter does even a little promotional thing like this completely, dedicatedly in-character, some of the very best wild/hectic/random/understatedly excited Twelve there. The dark slightly haughty snark (possibly as tension-reliever for the nostalgia induced excitement) and the gruff crotchery complainyness to it, the wild, abrupt motions, the slight incoherence… Quintessential vintage Twevie. And he mantains this even while briely imitating Ten and Eleven’s piloting styles as if it were Twelve giving his own mocking impression of them but tinted by both nostalgia, embarassment and his own PoV/ incapabilities. (like how he expresses himself more through his arms and motions than his expressions of voice, perfect impression of how his predecessors dynamicly whirred around the console but with his usual blank stare instead of the serious expression or playful grin you'd have seen on Ten and Eleven, respectively) XD I suppose all this just reminds me how much I’ve missed Twelve since the last ep aired. I'm glad we have this snippet to fangirl over. Twelvie ~
well, it was a back up control room, so it wasn't used much. I liked it because it was a change of pace for a while-just something a little different without being a huge permanent change for the show.
heroicsplendid yes and I was like do not do that and then I got season 1 and 9 had a hammer in one Ep and he was hitting the Tardis with it and I was like OH I get it now.
First control room belonged to Doctors #1, 2 & 3. Second control room belonged to Doctors #5, 6 & 7. Third belonged to Doctors #9 & 10. Fourth belonged to Doctor #11. And last of course belongs to Doctor #12. The 3rd Doctor had a couple of different control rooms, but one also belonged to the 1st and 2nd Doctors. The 4th Doctor also had a few, but sadly none were featured here. The 5th Doctor also had a few. The one featured here was the one featured in his last season which seen its first appearance in the 20th anniversary special "The Five Doctors". It was then used by the 6th and 7th Doctors. The 8th Doctor's control room is also sadly missing from this.
Actually I think the last one was the Dec 2012 to Dec 2013 console room aka 11's aka "this place brings back memories" bc all of 12's first memories are of that room
No, the control rooms change or redesign either by the Doctor's choice or just passively. The comic 'Four Doctors' has the 10th, 11th, and 12th Doctor running through each of their console rooms running from Reapers because their TARDISes are linked somehow. The fact that they can only do this if there are multiple of the same TARDIS shows that the console rooms are separate. And they even separate them afterward to make the Reapers run.
@@tmec8979 I know this was a year ago but Doesn't the Tardis herself state in the episode "The Doctors Wife" and i quote "I Archived them"? Amy and Rory go to 9 and 10's console room. 11 even says when House tries to delete them and the Room "You can try but it simply won't work. Safety lock, Living beings in deleted rooms are automatically deposited in the MAIN Control room" implying there are other control rooms in the tardis at the same time. Even in classic who the 4th Doctor had a 2nd control room elsewhere in the Tardis.
I remember seeing this with one of my younger brothers at the Doctor Who experience the day before it closed down. 😟 Why did it have to close? And when will they reopen again?
This Guy This is old, before I knew, apparently, the Doctor (eleventh) broke his own (first) chameleon circuit but, that knowledge comes from some bits and pieces of information that comes up in some places when you search properly. I'm not sure if it's canon, but there's what I found.
Well there are some stories in doctor who that contradicts others in the t.v. story "Inferno" it was shown that the earth would explode if we drilled to the chore. In the t.v. story "Runaway Bride" it is shown the racnoss are supposed to be there. Doctor who doesn't have canon so you can choose to accept what you want what you don't want.

No no no don't materialize the TARDIS inside the TARDIS, we already had an episode on this.
(like how he expresses himself more through his arms and motions than his expressions of voice, perfect impression of how his predecessors dynamicly whirred around the console but with his usual blank stare instead of the serious expression or playful grin you'd have seen on Ten and Eleven, respectively) XD
I suppose all this just reminds me how much I’ve missed Twelve since the last ep aired. I'm glad we have this snippet to fangirl over. Twelvie ~
and this is why 12 is one of the best doctors ever.
And they totally forget the wood-paneled secondary control room the 4th used for a while. I miss that set.
I Hated that one, seemed so small and cramped. also looked really dirty
well, it was a back up control room, so it wasn't used much. I liked it because it was a change of pace for a while-just something a little different without being a huge permanent change for the show.
It didn't look as dirty as 9 and 10's.
That set warped in storage in 1977/78, so they probably don't have it (and haven't seen fit to re-make it like they have the 1st Doctor's set).
I didn't know that. Thanks for the info!
0:06 "I do miss proper buttons. **presses 6 buttons** Everything's so swipey these days."
And then the whole experience closes
“Everything is so swiping this days .” Truue XD
Before the dark times, before the empire...
I love how he swings the hammer at the 9th-10th doctor console.
heroicsplendid yes and I was like do not do that and then I got season 1 and 9 had a hammer in one Ep and he was hitting the Tardis with it and I was like OH I get it now.
Actually it wasn't because the 2013 console room had green lights in the time rotor. The 2014 one had orange lights in the time rotor.
It's "time rotor".
You're right. I wasn't sure how to spell it.
Fallout Who has a console room based on the classic and it’s beautiful
Correct me if I'm wrong, but i think the tardis keeps the old control rooms but justs moves them. It's like a backup control room
Peter Capaldi is just perfect
Oh and. Peter is the best Doctor ever!!!!!!! :D
“I’m gonna materialize the TARDIS inside the TARDIS”
Me: WAIT WAIT DOCTOR NOOOOO
Man, I miss Capaldi! And I also miss Series 8 Capaldi!
(I love the new Doctor and new season, too, but I'm allowed to have favorites!)
SO many birthdays here... good times
I wish this was still around..I’ve always wanted to go here
0:01 What logo is that? Is it something from Gallifrey?
Ken Donohue Seal of Rassilon
"I am gonna materealize TARDIS inside TARDIS"
Okay who else still misses the doctor who experience
"im going to materialize the tardis inside the tardis"
TARDIS SEPSON!
I remember seeing this with one of my younger brothers at the Doctor Who experience the day before it closed down. 😟 Why did it have to close? And when will they reopen again?
Movie tardis is still my favorite.
Was so homey with candles, wood flooring, places to sit and relax, even books and furniture!
It was cozy but at the same time it felt like a cathedral or a big library
Bring it back PLEASE!
Sad this experience is gone now....was was to go to both version of it 11th and 12th doctor one’s
I love Peter!!!!
I really miss the experience. It's such a shame we didn't get a version of this but with 13.
I was part of the adventure in Cardiff and I saved the doctor
0:09-0:12 The console he banged before changing the console room.
Yet he still hasn't fixed the Chameleon Circuit.
+The Doctor go and watch the 6th doctor
Donna almost told him how. Then she... I'm not gonna spoil it.
This Guy This is old, before I knew, apparently, the Doctor (eleventh) broke his own (first) chameleon circuit but, that knowledge comes from some bits and pieces of information that comes up in some places when you search properly. I'm not sure if it's canon, but there's what I found.
This Guy Yeah, it gets pretty confusing with all the other stuff.
I went today and ... I'm 32 and even I got freaked out walking past the weeping angels. i won't let on what happens when you go through thous doors but it is oh so worth it :) I urge everyone to go. I was totally spellbound and I loved every second I was there, thank you Doctor Who :)
Rip doctor who experience
My favorite has always been the bridge between 9-10 and 11-12 TARDIS interior
You mean the eleventh of doctors first tardis?
Its strange, because the Doctor has always been "mad", but Capaldi brings its out so well...with the other 3 I think ppl kind of disregard it as goofy, perhaps one more than the others.
I love how Peter looks so manic
The last one was always my favorite Tardis. The new one is pretty neat as it's homage to the original but it does feel a bit too CGI at times. The first one made more sense being smaller but I always thought the center piece of was a bit underwhelming.
I never went to the experience with twelve only when eleven was the Doctor more than once.
Best Console room 8th Doctors one worst Series 5 and 6 console room Matts first one.
XDEV agreed it was an ugly console room *insert ten's disapproving face*
I liked that one!
