🌼 The Camino de Santiago comes alive with vibrant sights and sounds during this time of year. Prepare to be immersed in nature's captivating performance.
From the melodic chorus of birds to the kaleidoscope of wildflowers swaying in the gentle breeze, the Camino invites you to savor its multi-sensory splendor. It's an experience that demands your full presence, beckoning you to become one with the breathtaking natural canvas unfolding before your eyes.

At the end ofa long walk, I even went for awold swim, thanks to a last minute tip by my friend Dan ‪@Caminohacks‬ 🌲 💦

As someone who has lost 90% of their hearing of my right ear, noise pollution is such a huge impact on our lives we don't even realize until it is too late. An odd joy I had when the lockdown of Covid was in full effect here in Canada, was my daily 6km walk to work when there were almost no cars on the roads, no large trucks, or busses. Just a few of us walking or on bikes, it was in those moments I realized how much we as a society have lost due to our constant background noise levels. My loss of hearing has only amplified my need for quiet and how much I appreciate the moments of quiet when hiking in nature. Take the time to appreciate the quiet moments and really listen to what you can hear when the noise of civilization is silenced for a short while.

hi there, it seems my reply back then got lost... anyway, yes: it's when it's quiet that we realize how loud everything is.

Noise pollution everywhere - true. There are so few places left where it‘s completely quiet … except for sounds of nature. The Centre of France is great for long silent stretches. Personne! Pas de pelerins.
Also try the Meseta in the afternoon. Most groups just skip it, and when the bed-racers have dashed through, the Meseta can be a truly magical place - better, of course, when the weather is kind, too. Just book your accommodation in advance and you can take your time to enjoy the empty space around you. Wind, birds, your own footsteps.
Go outside after dinner when it‘s dark. No light pollution either. Amazing.
    Enough now.
Just enjoy whatever you find out there. 😻

You are definitely going deeper into the journey this time without the distraction of the groups you formed in the previous 2 Caminos. I am glad you are taking it slower this time, probably why you have a knee issue, just so this can occur. There are no accidents only synchronicities and as you say, the Camino always gives you what you need rather than what you want. 💖

My pleasure, I hope the cold dip helped the knee. I think the next river you can dip your toes in is in najera

oh.. so I am going to be on the camino frances for the first time in aug/ sep and I am trying to preserve the novelty by not viewing too many videos about the scenery...being surprised is part of the delight...but your videos have been too zen and tempting to ignore. I appreciate your channel's whole vibe.

Hi Rebecca, I know the feeling exactly 😅 i even made a thing about it:
ruclips.net/video/l1eAyiPR-TE/видео.html - i think if you stop some time before you’re going, you’re good. and anyway, it’s going to be a while lot of different in terms of level of intensity once you’re on it. Warning though: i’m going even more Zen 😜

@@storiestellr observation, meditation, going slow, being lazy. It's like a Rorschach test. A person is still or moves slowly. What title does that person put on the act? Is moving slowly imposed on you or bestowed upon you?

@@storiestellr I'm flattered and I'll be honored. Your videos and musings have given me a new thing to think about as I meditate (I like a 1-3 word thing to fixate on, maybe this is a mantra). "What really matters?"

The movie feels like Apocalypse Now or something in that realm. Actually my first taste of the Camino was a movie with Martin Sheen and his real life Son, Emilio Estevez. The Way.
