I do not belive Brandon Boyd gets the recognition he deserves for his vocals at all. In my very humble opinion I belive he is one of the best male vocalists in the world with his range.
Goddamn, what a song. I was 14 years old, listening to this in my room. I was bullied pretty badly and suffered from some pretty serious depression at the time. This album was one of the things that changed my life. Music became my therapy. It became my outlet for frustration, pain, creativity, joy, and so much more. I count this album, and this song in particular, as a huge reason why I was able to pick myself up from where I was and soldier ahead. Thank you, Incubus, for giving us such good, meaningful music. ❤️
Same I graduated in 2005 this song will always hold a place in my heart. Back before having piercings, dyed hair and tattoos and being different was cool 😎 I miss these days so much. 😪
The great thing about Incubus is you can listen to every song without skipping. This is timeless music here!!! Wish I was old enough to have been at the morning view sessions 😔
+TheBeautyLotus I remember seeing this band when noone else knew who they were. If I were you I would wish to be much older and and see them when they were unsigned and hungry and fricken amazing.
@@laurarubio3436 Incubus transcended the whole FNM/Mr. Bungle sound after SCIENCE. Even SCIENCE had Deep Inside, Summer Romance, Glass, etc. that showed they were more.

I like to lie to myself and believe that watever God you believe in- well they put incubus on this planet jus for me. I’ve never connected w/another artist n all of music the way I hav them. N I went to school for music journalism. Their music is like my best friend. They’ve saved my life a couple times. ‘Make Yourself’ changed everything for me wen I was 15. ‘Morning View’ did the same wen it came out. My daughter is 13 & been listening to them all her life only now they’re starting to speak to her the way they always hav me. I’m so proud. Jus kno w/certainty those 2 albums are some of the best ever written and recorded. They contain some of the most amazing & profound songs ever written. ‘The Warmth’ ‘Consequence’ ‘Pardon Me‘ ‘Nice to Know You’ ‘Warning’ ‘11am’ jus to name a few.
Jesus christ.....I'd honestly forgotten just how incredible they were at that time. I was in highschool then, and Make Yourself blew me away at the time. And I've always appreciated it a lot. But lately it's kinda dawned on me that they were definitely _way_ better than they are recognized as being. I don't know why....but I have a feeling that will, and even is, changing. I mean...just listen/watch this performance...this is a band in tune with something super interesting and creative and cool...and they're at their peak of channeling that. The overwhelming majority of bands and artists don't do _that._ Incubus was better than I realized....I'm a wee bit guilty of overlooking them too, despite actually being a fan.
God that songs amazing. 1998, I was going through Special Forces Medical course and rocking this nightly in my Camaro......taking me away from some very graphic training at times. Rock on gentlemen! 🤘🙏
“Experience the warmth before you grow old, where did it go?”. You don’t realize how stinging those words are listening as a saddened teenager, hoping to find warmth in a cold world. Now as a late 30 something, those words take on a whole new meaning and a brand new set of tears.
Best singer of your generation in my opinion. His words and passion to help other is amazing. A true artist. Thanks Brandon for creating beautiful music my friend. Would love to meet you one day and show thanks for getting me through the darkness of my life. God bless you sir ❤❤❤
i’m 17 years old and have been listening to incubus for as long as i can remember. watching this video makes me wish i was born decades sooner so i would’ve been able to witness these guys when they were FRESH fresh but i must admit that their music is timeless. i’m glad to at least be living at the same time as them 😭😭😭

definitely. It saddens me that their recent music doesn’t seem to be doing as well.
