- lyrics:
My love is warmer than the warmest sunshine
Softer than a sigh
My love is deeper than the deepest ocean
Wider than the sky
My love is brighter than the brightest star
That shines every night above
And there is nothing in this world
That can ever change my love
Something happened to my heart the day that I met you
Something that I never felt before
You are always on my mind, no matter what I do
And every day it seems I want you more
My love is warmer than the warmest sunshine
Softer than a sigh
My love is deeper than the deepest ocean
Wider than the sky
My love is brighter than the brightest star
That shines every night above
And there is nothing in this world
That can ever change my love
Once I thought that love was meant for anyone else but me
Once I thought you'd never come my way
Now it only goes to show how wrong we all can be
For now I have to tell you everyday
My love is warmer than the warmest sunshine
Softer than a sigh
My love is deeper than the deepest ocean
Wider than the sky
My love is brighter than the brightest star
That shines every night above
And there is nothing in this world
That can ever change my love
My love is warmer than the warmest sunshine
Softer than a sigh
My love is deeper than the deepest ocean
Wider than the sky
My love is brighter than the brightest star
That shines every night above
And there is nothing in this world
That can ever change my love

@tradde11 è anche la mia canzone preferita. Peccato che certi momenti dell'accompagnamento musicale la rovinano.
Love Petula! What a talent, what a voice, and so beautiful! She is a wonderful part of our musical heritage! Just wonderful music. Thank you for posting!
Mark Speer she was called the queen of the British invasion and rightly so!

LOVELY GIVE HER MORE THAN YOU HAD
Thank you for that...
Stunning! Beautiful! and what a voice! You don't hear female vocalists like this anymore. Thanks for the post.
Petula might have thought this song was too simple, but I think she and it is outstanding!
I think we, the youth of 60s, are the last generation to have experienced such pure, meaningful and peaceful music, dance, movies and love :)
The best British singer to come out of the 60s. ❤❤❤
This is a very underrated song, you almost never hear it on oldies radio stations.
+Timothy Raths Don't think Petula ever got fair time.
+Timothy Raths mmm are you sure? 'cause today I heard it on a web radio that was playing oldies
I heard it on 87.7 METV fm. That's what brought me here 😄
I just heard it on cable tvs music choice about 15 minutes ago...and had to load it up on the youtube network, and listen AGAIN!!11.36 am 1/16/17
It's in the regular rotation on Sirius XM 60's on 6.
Even here in Japan, most of the fan of Petula love this song. And still I am.
love is universal....
love the way this song starts at 100 mph, no preamble needed
Right on. It blows right out of the gate and never slows down.
@@johnbarnes5237 good old tune man
It starts with the chorus
My first crush.. i was too chicken to talk.. always rmbr this song as my mom picked me up on last day of 8th grade
I used to sing this in first grade on the school bus
My sister and I used to sing this song to our parents while standing in the kitchen of our little shack in WV. I still know every word.
yea
you both were the sunshine in their lives....
I'm 64 and Live in Logan WV and have loved this song since I was a child
@@timothyhall861 I'm from New Richmond. I know Logan well. I'm 65 and joined the Navy to get out but, I still have my hillbilly attitude.
@@sharonsanders6826 are you still alive?

and still on stage now in 2022!
2023 she is gone from us now😢
@@claudiajarvis3694 shut up, she's still alive
It's the perfect song when you fall in love and have them listen to the words telling them how you feel and Petula Clark's lovely voice is icing on the cake!
Petula is and always was my favorite. Even as a youngster I thought she had a certain something, which I now know as 'elegance'
Jesus love is far better, so thankful for Him.
This is one of my very favorite songs❤️
Yes!!!!!!
So talented! You're adorable in film, and in song. We love you, Petula!
So glad RUclips is available to call up culture shaping entertainment anytime with positivity at it's core . You can feel the warmth Petula gives in this performance of "My Love ".
No stupid vocal gymnastics, just a gorgeous voice.
My mother always sang Petula Clark songs. I was born in 1969.
This is my childhood favorites, she never ceases to marvel me with her lovely voice.
Best solo female singer of her era - FACT!!
Her and Karen Carpenter are the best female singers ever!
yea l know
Bobbi Martin (1970)- For the Love of Him
YES! I would agree!
When Tony Hatch showed this song to Petula Clark, while both were on their way to Los Angeles in 1966 for recording and TV appearances, she hated it and said she would not record it. She changed her mind after hearing the arrangement and cut it; it went #1 and was one of those oldies you wanted out of the news on radio.
In as few words as possible, fantastic song, unrivaled performer, magical era.
This song was number 1 on billboards when I was born. Love it.
This was our song in the days we dated in 1965 and 1966.
I used to sing it every night .
PETULA CLARK's "My Love" HITS THE HOT 40 Billboard Chart on 1/15/1966- Become No. 1-2 Weeks on 2/5/1966 for 9 Weeks on WARNER BROS. RECORDS-WB (Time Warner.)
The days of awesome music and song that warms the heart were the best, unlike what we hear today! Absolutely beautiful!
Jim Roberts. Amen Jim. Amen.
My favorite song from 1966,😃💚💽
Just heard this on "Call the Midwife".
It sounded familiar but I thought I couldn't remember it until I totally shocked myself being able to sing it word perfect...
I must have been all of 6? 7? when I would have heard it on the radio.
I guess it was on high rotation 🤣😂
What an amazing talent ! She is the epitome of elegance with a voice unmatched! What an awesome era of music!
If only today's so called 'stars' could sing like this.
Great singer and such a lovely soulful song
Petula is gorgeous...amazing voice,powerful
Played this at my 50th Anniversary Party....It was a song I listened to while my hubby was in Vietnam...memories!
Suzanne...Me, too, Hon, on both counts...scratch party. We've been having our own private party in the sack, a party still going stronger than ever, today, 2020. You're not alone, Hon. We love this song, love Petula Clark, and Petula is one of the very few women with whom I'd share my better half... him being a Vietnam vet who has earned more than his fair share of pussy.. Petula Clark? Hell, yes. . .
Janett Grady My hubby and I still share a very passionate love life! I had a therapist tell me I sure have more sex than what most people have! Since my hubby and I both were young when we married we have often even discussed being faithful! Luckily for both of us we found each other so exciting neither one strayed! I always wonder if we are unique that way! We were so busy with each other we didn’t give others our passion! Glad you have a happy marriage too! Beautiful!
Suzanne...Thanks for your uplifting response. I appreciate your time. I'm certainly happy for you and yours being Happy. and yes, I think we are unique in that way. We love sex, do it all the time in every conceivable way in every possible position...even if my husband runs out of gas, he still keeps me satisfied in every way. Married in the early 60s, we've been on the same page ever since, especially about sex, always open and honest...and neither of us has ever "strayed." I might add, just for the hell of it, that I'm bi and we've had threesomes every once in a while, girl-boy-girl, which means neither of us has ever wanted to be unfaithful...never. I could fill pages about our sex life, but I won't bore you...suffice it for me to simply thank you, here, for listening. I enjoy talking sex. Cheers, Hon. Have a good one!!!
Janett Grady Had to write back...married in 1965 after knowing each other six months...I knew he was the one! I appreciate you taking the time to let me know how you two are doing too! Yes we have both remained faithful...I was 18 and he was19 when we met! Did our experimenting on each other! He didn’t have time to cheat! The guys use to tease him having an over-sexed wife....but he wasn’t complaining either! Have a great evening! Suzanne ❤️
Suzanne...Thanks for writing, Hon. We've got you guys by three, 1962 for us. No biggie, just curious..but you earlier mentioned Vietnam...mine spent 1969 in that miserable shithole, the most frightening, horrible year in my life. Still, I never, ever even considered being unfaithful...simply said, I played Solitaire morning, noon, and night and just about every hour in between...and he did, too. Even today, we do that, it's one of our "ways." We sometimes get off watching each other get off. Thanks again, Suzanne, If you want to continue an exchange, please feel free to do so. I love sex, love having all kinds of sex, and I love talking about sex, especially with a girl you seem to be, a girl with a brain. Have a good one, Hon. Love, Janett.. . .
I see people commenting that she is still performing, wow! She's probably at or about 90, it's youthful spirit and sheer love of what she does. I think if you truly love what you do, no matter the endeavor, calender age doesn't really matter, after all, look at Tom Brady, at 45, still playing at a high level, not just for $$$$$, but winning and love of what he does
90 on November 15th 2022 and the day before performing on stage in London in the same theatre she became a star overnight singing aged 10 in 1942
Jesus gave me this song this morning, Awesome!
Ephesians 3:18
"This is My Song" (in English) is one of four Petula Clark hits for which she has expressed dislike, the others being "Sailor", a UK no. 1 hit; "Monsieur", a German language no. 1 hit which won a gold disc for sales in Germany alone and "My Love".
#1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (Singles) chart for Feb. 5, 1966.
freeguy77 REALLY! Thanks for info. Some others, like Beatles John and Paul hated own songs that were hotter too. Go figure, huh? Thanks again.
We used to watch her on Ed Sullivan on Sunday in-between Ella Fitzgerald and The Beatles. What pure talent.
I heard this recently on the soundtrack to Call The Midwife and even though I didn't think I knew the song, I soon realised I knew every word.
I guess that what happens when you grow up in 60s England!
Five decades later and this is still an amazing happy little song.
For me, the Queen of the swinging 60's British invasion. I can listen to her sing all day!
Petula's best song. I love it!
ペトラ、クラァクの貴重な映像です、この歌もすてきです70年ぐらいまえかすばらしい映像です…。
Such memories. Pet had such star quality and we all sang along with her songs in our household wishing we could be like her.
Beautiful Petula, you were so good you can still bring me to tears. You were the soundtrack to my youth. I love you.
I understand why Petula thought this song was ordinary, but it also made her the first female British artist to reach 2 #1 hits in the US (the other being Downtown).
Sent this to my girlfriend a couple of months back shortly after telling her I love her for the first time. One of those exceedingly rare songs where every word exactly captures how I feel about her. Both of us in our late 60s and never expected to find love in our advanced youth. Have played it probably 50 times now and it still chokes me up and makes me cry. Have not been an emotional guy all my life but have recently been with/about her.
@tradde11 Indeed. Both of our lives are so very much better since we found each other 7 months ago. Funny thing is we were in jr/sr high school together more than 50 years ago and just connected recently as she was working on our 50th reunion committee last summer tracking down lost souls to come to the reunion. I was one of those lost souls and we've been together since then.
My favorite Petula Clark record. So many memories of walking to the corner grocery store with my Grandma in Hawaii... and this song was ALWAYS on the radio there! Funny that she hated this and didn't want it released!
Yeah! Sweet lyrics & endearing melody!
This song makes me feel better about the good old days than I felt when I was living them.
Yes! Underrated....it is so refreshing to hear.....simple, but so endearing!
Always will remind me of when I visited my aunt in England and all of us kids sang Petula Clark songs along with the record all the time, and none of us could sing but we sure had fun
Sensational is all I could ever Think 💬🤔👍 or Visualize whenever I was able to Hear Her Sing. Also Her presence on Stage was even More Enjoyable. Totally Great and Fantastic were always My Thoughts of Her. Plus the impressions of Her were always High as Well. Thank You 💕💕👍👍🤔🤔🙏🙏
This is a fantastic song
I'm presuming that this was from something like Hollywood Palace

it's a romantic notion to think that this woman had such an impact on so many people I thought I was the only one who love this woman grew up with her songs and her sweetness. but she affected so many people. .. that's what's romantic about it... and I love her
When you're having a bad day or stressed out, put on a Petula Clark playlist and wash it away!
Man I know that's right, love Petula q gemstone God put on this earth to enjoy her beauty and song.
Petula Clark is still GORGEOUS!!!❤❤❤❤
Her second American #1 hit. I loved it when it was new. I was in High School then. I still love it. Never get tired of this one. This video cuts the last verse out of the song, but I still like the live presentation.
My favorite Petula
Clark song. I've forgotten how much I loved her music back then. Such great memories.
My very first crush when she appeared on Ed Sullivan
last night i was looking for music for my beautiful 31 year old daughters funeral. nothing grabbed me. This morning I turned on the radio this was the song. The lyrics described her - tender hearted, warm and loving. This will be one of her songs.
I was 8yrs old when I heard her song on a juke box, and it was the first song/record whose artist and title I remembered. since then I've heard it on the radio, twice only. one of the best songs ever, and it should be played more often.
For me Doris Day & Petula Clarke have fab voices. DD was deep & powerful. PC love the high notes.
Her best song!!!!.........Fantastic!
i love Petula and alll her music. Takes me back tlo a time when music was love. Peace love and hippies. All about the love. There is nio music today.
Love Petula! Ever since I first saw her in 1965 on Ed Sullivan.

She is everyone's best friend. God save.

Nothing ordinary about "Petula in PINK"! My Love should be more Clark than Koller. Brain Storm Brian! You mean Beautiful Loyalty. Completely and everlasting goddess of goodness. Energy with light.

She is very enchanting as a British singer.
style ,talent ,personality and Welsh
As W. C. Fields once said, easy on the ears and a banquet for the eyes.
