This is just too beautiful. It deserves an animated series without protagonist, just like a documentary, watching the lives and interactions of all of these creatures.
That’s a fantastic idea! A nature documentary, but 2-D animated footage in the style of the artwork. Just a voice narrating the history of this world, only for the narrator to reveal himself at the end as Mr. Time.
Not going to lie, this is my favourite worldbuilding project ever featured on this channel. What it lacks in scientific grounding it more than makes up for in sheer imagination.
I think it's more of a pre modern man's retelling the story of earth. Just kind of didn't understand what was happening. Like the final bit I'd describe as the higgs feilds collapsing and the physics of earth changing. Before that I think it's the plant like creatures was a type of animal (I hypothesize crab or other crustacean) using plant material as a type of clothing. This would hypothetically make living under a uv riddled earth before ozone layer developed possible. Etc
Yeah you can definitely see a lot of influences from ghibli movies especially Nausica of The Valley of The Wind, with the great insects and how the plants are drawn
@@mosterchife6045 I would love a souls-like game but I hope they make it more unique to themselves in terms of gameplay mechanics. Fromsoftware has pretty much solidified their position on the market as creators of souls games.
I really enjoy how this universe is inspired by the myths of old. It does feel like it was build from patchworking dozens of different accounts, something not easy for a single author, and that it's more concerned in giving a dream-like experience than accurately describing what happened. But, even so, it was still informed by current scientific knowledge and, in my opinion, it gives a good possibility of what would happen if our pre-modern ancestors (or just their pre-modern mindset) could integrate our current science into their myths and legends.
i don't know, i didn't like it personally, in contrast to most work featured on this channel. patchwork is a good word. i'm enjoying speculative biology per se, based on science; this not only had nothing to do with science but didn't make any sense to me either. i find it's mostly "eons of weird stuff", then "everything changes without explanation", then "more eons of the new weird stuff", and it all goes on for way too long imo. the fact that it's so long-winded and twisty and dreamlike is perhaps akin to an ancient creation myth, but it's precisely what i don't like about it. maybe the (understandably) very succint presentation made it worse.
The visual style reminds me much of Hayao Miyazaki's work, especially with Nausica, and castle in the sky the strange creatures and forests that teem with life. Ancient civilizations that rise and fall, and the way the linework is done is reminiscent of the intro to castle in the sky. Though it has another quality to it, I cant remember. Nostalgic.

Not really. To me, It feels like like an alternate outcome, if that makes sense. What could have happened if the singularity prior to the Big Bang was arranged just slightly differently.
It hurts your brain because it really isn't something you consume as if it was a science, it's more or less a story that you should take for face value and not mind the terms like "dreams". In reality even our sciences are very much blurred when it comes to our existence. For example, where did the ball of gas from the bigbang theory come from? Out of the various world youve shared on this channel, this one definitely sticks with me. It foregoes trying to "scientifically explain" the alien world, just jumps right in! With the all encompassing concept of it, to the genuine creativity of the designs and the folkloric artstyle, to the depth that each era has. It also kind of bring to light like how on our Earth, with different eras comes different kinds of life forms that live in an entire different version of Earth, all ultimately being footnotes in Earth's existence, building upon another. All the stuff here is great, but the ideas that stick with me were the Titans, tethered to the depths, bring life with their dream beings, and the abstract End with the remaining humus creature, pondering in the void with the abstract beings. Also I genuinely did not expect humans to appear, SUCH a plot twist for me! I would love to have the concepts in printed form, but awesome to see it shared online.

Reminds me a bit of the Codex Seraphinianus, but with the context and history actually explained. I like this exploration of something more magical and fantastic, has a strong surreal mythic vibe to it that I really enjoy.
I like the idea here. The whole dream magic thing was a bit hard for me to get behind. It sounds very much like a set of legends an old civilization might imagine, like the mythos of ancient Greece. Most speculative biology projects I've seen stick to real-world physics and theories so this certainly comes across as unique.
This is so amazing it feels like a mix of surrealist art, medieval art, maps from the age of exploration and a Ghibli movie(btw i definitly want to see a Ghibli movie about this project) :D
What you said basically describes Arceus. A being that hatched from an egg that appeared out of nothing and created the universe and Sinnoh (originally Hisui) as we all know, gave birth to the Creation Trio (Dialga, Palkia, Giratina) and the Lake Guardians (Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie).
I think it is actually a Wanderer like the beings that first seeded the moon. The Wanderers are said to be vestiges of long gone civilizations, just like Mr Time, and like the Wanderers, Mr Time seems to be capable of Dream Magic. Perhaps the other Wanderers were born from similar circumstances…
I am so touched by how in this universe, life seems to breed more life, inherently and inevitably until time itself ends. things die. but there are always more things being born. time and time again the intelligent beings who emerge make themselves companions. the ruins of the Labyrinth becomes the Humus. The Titans make the Giants, and the Giants make the primordial forest, and the Ancients make the Humans and the Humans make the Machines. I find this beautiful.
This whole series is so strange and beautiful! I especially like the very end part where it’s just the abstract beings and the lifeless desert. That whole idea of contemplating the void is such an interesting and yet so melancholic idea.
This might be one of my favorites, I love the fantastic and mythological vibe of this world. There is something extremely fascinating with the way the races appear and disappear, interact and influence the world. Very creative, I love it

I'm loving this addition to the archive! BTW, have you ever read Last and First Men by Olaf Stapledon? It's a favourite of mine and although you might be hard pressed to get images for a video, it's definitely an Interesting exploration of speculative zoology and the potential history of humanity
God damn wow 😳🤯 the opening was insane like a Tsunami of world building just so thought out and intricate I'm happily bewildered. . .just wow 👁️👁️ 👍🏽 whoever brought this world together from doodles to words just so mind-blowing to see what people create
Mythic, lyrical, bizarre & horrific. Focussing less on the scientific consistency of the ecologies, than the stories of these myriad sapient lives. Brilliant & beautiful.
I have to agree with you on that. The story in this video is err....for lack of better words "messy". It starts with a tree that's growing from earth and into space.....that instantly turned me off from the rest of the video cos I knew everything after that moment was just gonna be made up stuff and my first thought was "please explain the science behind that so we can have a better understanding of how this world or reality operates" but no, it instantly goes into cosmic wanders and those come without explanation or reason as well, then says they control "dream magic" without at least explaining what the hell "dream magic" is or what that even means.
I don’t know if this would be up your alley but could you do one of these on the robotic animals of horizon: zero dawn. The story is basically that humanity created a nano machine bio weapon that self replicated by consuming biological matter. To preserve the remaining flora, fauna, and humanity, they built giant bunkers like arks governed by ai set to start trying to recolonize the planet with plants and animals after the nanomachimes die off in a couple hundred years. The ai’s use machines based off of biological animals from the present and the past, but with some evolutions and machanical body part for increased efficiency. I think it is an interesting take on how an ecosystem could coexist with nature and machine.
Such an interesting watch. I love how it both parallels a fantastical take on Earth past and a fantastical take on Earth's future. It's both so melancholy and empty, yet hopeful. Everything dies, everything falls. But something always lives on.

This project feels like something out of a legitimate (Albeit, very bizarre) mythology.
Mythic, lyrical, bizarre & horrific. Focussing less on the scientific consistency of the ecologies, than the stories of these myriad sapient lives. Brilliant & beautiful.
I prefer more scientifically grounded world-building projects, but this is cool too.
Most world building projects have very dubious science anyway
@@Star-Bubbles123 Fair enough, but not this dubious. I don't hate it, I just prefer speculative evolution over dream magic.
@@ultraslang i mean. it's fantasy. it's very explicitly fantasy. you're asking for science from something that doesn't even pretend to be scifi.
@@tristansmith8824 okay 😐
Never been so insanely jealous of such a beautiful world building task
This story are way different than the other that you've covered, rather than Sci-Fi, this is more akin to Dark Fantasy
We NEED a TV show, video game, movie, or at least *something* based on this amazing piece of work!
Absolutely EPIC you biological treasure love this☺️☺️❤️❤️❤️
Wow this is really great my favourite thing from this channel it's just that good
I don’t know if this would be up your alley but could you do one of these on the robotic animals of horizon: zero dawn.
Beauty worthy of tears.
Its like a more fantastical version of the Silmarillion.
Such an interesting watch. I love how it both parallels a fantastical take on Earth past and a fantastical take on Earth's future. It's both so melancholy and empty, yet hopeful. Everything dies, everything falls. But something always lives on.
I love the hidden "who's gonna buy the houses Ben, fucking Aquaman?!" Joke with the whales
lol same
Whales born from dreams visit magician butterfly’s on the moon. That sentence had me stand up, I’m in already.
