@@DiggerEvans No problem I really love using an air brush but never been brave to weather anything. Maybe one day we can get together so I can learn more on your art of weathering.
@@frankneher9192 sounds like a good idea just practice on paper getting the pressure and spray pattern how you like it, get used to the brush and then practice on something from the scrap bin I started by practicing on old redundant rolling stock carriages etc.
Very nice, taking the 'plastic shine' off the bricks. The grubby back-shop windows too. Thinking ahead on the layers there with the acrylic thinner first, then a little water for the water-colour pencils, one for the Note book. Yes, clean after use; always clean these air brushes/guns immediately after use and they're ready to use again. Always important. Nicely done, sir. Good video, Digger. Thank you and Keep Safe, Well and Warm! Cheers!
Hey Digger, Congratulations on the 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ subs, thats great you hit the magic number. The building looks good, air brush looks like the way to go.
Well done Digger on the well deserved 1k subs !! A good how to and well explained on the Airbrush and I keep thinking of dipping my toe in the Airbrush water .................Cheers Kev
Hiya keV, Thank you so much my friend I really appreciate your kind words and support, once you've tried the airbrush you will wonder how you got along with out it, it really is a very useful tool to have in the arsenal. Many thanks my friend
Nice work Digger the buolding looks great i have not got any woodland scenics buildings because i feel as i they look too american for my british layout who knows i may give one a go.
Thank you, I agree they do look quite American, but I just can't find the ones that I like from our producers here in the UK we just don't get the same choice at all, I love the look of these buildings very industrial and real, I like the dirty old town look rather than trumpton lol
Nice one Digger, that came out looking great in jig time. Some good pointers in there too. All the best. Brian @ The Angels (Congrats on 1k subscribers.)
Hi Digger, interesting video about the airbrush, I learnt a bit more, have got to weather my engine shed soon! Congrats on reaching 1000, a worthy channel. All the best. Glynn
Some great tips there Digger, especially with the airbrush. Many of us (me included) have an airbrush but don't really know how to use it properly. Cheers John
Congrats on the 1000 sub Digger....someday I may invest on an airbrush and this will help me, saved for future use....I’m sure this helped those who uses them
Hiya Jerry, yes that is the theory it carries the pigment uniformly and adheres to the surface better, water from the pencils in a small quantity should affect the spray acrylic at all, many thanks for your kind words my friend
Great how to video. Can i ask what brand is the air bruch i like a better one. Do you take it apart and clean the rod and the inside thank you for showing
Thanks Dwight the one I used here is bartsharp, I also use sparmax, iawata and my favourite is Badger, Harder and Steinbeck is next on my wants list, and yes I take the airbrush apart and remove the needle completely for a proper clean
Fabulous video! I might weather my model railway wagons for the freight, just uploaded a new video, feel free to watch. Take care, stay safe and well, keep the videos coming, we all appreciate your time into them! This one is very interesting! Also have a great evening!
Brilliant video Digger. Would you recommend the compressor and spray gun, if yes can I ask where you got them from? Also, the pencells, are they special water colour pencils? Simon
Hiya Simon the compressor is available on e bay I actually bought this one from a friend, I have a few compressors but this one is a good all rounder, the pencils are just standard water colour pencils from e bay too there are specific set from am for mud/rust or decay etc and they cost more ,the set I have is just a big standard set for about two quid, thanks for your support my friend
Very good Digger. I still do all my weathering by hand (well a brush lol) as I dont own an airbrush but found it very interesting. Congratulations on 1000 subs well done my subs are still going backwards lol. Catch you soon mate stay safe Andy
Hi Andy many thanks for your support, some of my weathering is also done without the airbrush most methods are really good and give great effect I like working with powders and washes etc...
Thank you David for your kind words my friend, the initial coat was an enamel colour of matt red oxide, then everything else from there was acrylic including the front of the building, I didn't use and clear coat on the building before or after, although sometimes i will use a clear matt finish on some things
Nice video.Enjoy it thanks
many thanks my friend
