Gotta say after getting stuck in cg on my iron it forced me to become way better of a pvmer. It's a big step up from only being able to do vork and zulrah. But now it's a breeze and I understand the movement way more
I always found finding people to learn Pvm from daunting in a way. With that, I’ve just forced my way through pvm and learned through brute force and trial n error. Thank god I have 3 IRL friends who still play. Still no ToB KC lol
i got to 98 mining before ever touching granite, forced myself to learn it purely for this reason and definitely see what you mean by rhythm. Great vid!
One of the things that helped me a lot when learning pvm (in rs3, but the same still applies) is playing Ironman mode. The natural drop progression helps a lot, although rs3 actually does this better than osrs due to the more linear gear, and the soft 87 slayer req to use the magic style. Sadly the BP nerf impacted this negatively, making a lot of people skip the blowpipe and go straight to cg, which is a lot harder but the bowfa is so good and requires no gear to get.
I second this. pvm progression is really clear on an ironman, and you generally acquire the skills for a boss as you get to the point of doing it. cg is a notable exception, as its a large difficulty spike. one thing of note is we do raids. i dont recommend joining wdr mentor raids as an ironman. that server is extremely elitist, especially towards ironmen. i had 2 mentors unironically tell me that i should grind out 93 slayer before doing cox, all for 2 max hits on my trident.
One very underrated piece of content that teaches movement very well is 3 tick gem mining in the underground Shilo Village gem mine. It teaches accurate clicks, very accurate movement and understanding game ticks to a T. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Preach on the last point! I don't care how much you mess up while you are learning that is apart of learning, but there are few things that make me not want to teach people faster than the blame game and people crying in the mic

The "invisible fourth pillar" concept frustrates me the most. It's completely invisible, never at any point explained in-game, yet "critical to every aspect of both skilling and pvm." I know *conceptually* that a tick is 0.6 seconds. But how the hell am I supposed to *use* that so I stop having junk like my switches failing halfway through, the boss dealing extra damage because I didn't eat and re-click them at the exact right part of a 0.6 second repeating interval? *HOW DO I USE TICKS?!* I have a *20 year veteran* cape, so it is downright *insulting* to say this is "just something that naturally comes to you over time of playing the game."
You say stats are critical but trying Poverty Snake again after taking my magic and defence from around 80 to *95* made no difference whatsoever in my ability to kill the darn thing. I upgraded the gear, upgraded the stats, and there's still definitely something *missing* in invisible pvm strategies relating to timing, whatever ticks are, and the like. This is what I meant on the other video about OSRS desperately needing an archglacor-like tutorial boss. It seems like you have a good idea about these "pillars" of PVM, and I've certainly tried other things that rely on them like that agility method for pathing, which I literally cannot get past the first floor of because, again, that is dependent on *knowing* it going in, hurling you from the kiddie pool of "these agility obstacles do not move" into the deep end immediately. Like WHAT IF we had entry-mode sepulcre, BUT it had NO TIME LIMIT AT ALL, and the obstacles moved half as fast? You'd still get more xp/hr as you get better, but you wouldn't be slapped in the face with *nothing* for 2 hours of attempts. What if that version told you, in game, exactly how to use the run-teleport to bypass obstacles? (if I could put it anywhere in-game it'd be as a hardmode of the Rogue's Den maze)
Did you just compare Nex to Phosanis! Lol oh god, nex is a breeze and extremely easy, even in small teams there quick, and with a team that knows what they're doing you can get upwards of 4-6 kills in a 4-6 man team. I've done a hell of alot of nex and I've done even more phosanis, you can easily get kills at nex without knowing that much, to learn phosanis can take a week as well as the grind to run there. It took me a week to learn phosanis and I've taken complete dud pvmers to nex, as I host weekly events there, but phosanis is 100% harder for most people
The problem I have with high lvl pvm in osrs is the content creators all say it should be more challenging, less like bandos and more like nightmare or raids, and they never seem to realize the massive majority of players are not maxed, or even max combat... so when jagex makes a piece of content like hydra or like sarachnis the content creators shit on it.... says it's not challenging enough, even though they're in max gear max lvl and play the game at a higher lvl, most players play the game a couple hours a day and arent into sweaty pvm..... I enjoy laid back bosses like vorkath and hydra.... as do most of the entire player base.... so the only thing that bothers me is when I see mint cow or reckcie ( however u spell their names) say they want a boss that will delete ur acc if u die at it and not even be joking they talk about it for half an hour, I just dont understand the logic of these content creators, I think one of osrs biggest problems is the max main content creators have done all the content and done it to such a degree that theyve pretty much beaten osrs as an mmo, they dont realize people still struggle to beat jad for the first time while they're doing inferno speed runs.... most of the entire player base will never beat the inferno 1 time, I'd say prob 75% of the player base or more will never even attempt to do inferno because of the difficulty. So I have an issue with pvm content being constantly pushed into more difficult standards, that's why I was glad to see raids 3 supposedly launching as the easiest raid and the hardest, raids is a good example, most players have never even done 1 raid, that's a big problem for the health of the game if the majority of players arent reaching the end game because of difficulty. And I'm not saying challenging content is bad, it's good for the game it is needed alot, but I think jagex has realized they have to balance the content for the new causual gamer as well as sweaty 20 hour a day megachads.
