That bread slicer makes a big difference. thanks for demonstrating that. A lot of people get these machines used, which may not include instructions so the cleaning tips at the end of the video was a nice touch
This is exactly what i needed to see. I had a breadman that lasted 20 years. I normally make my own bread by hand but i am getting older and wanted some help. This machine is supposedly the best of the best. Thats what i want.
Great training video Darnell. I really appreciate the fact that your info was so well thought out and you wasted little time covering the essentials. Even though the video was a bit lengthy, the time was over before I knew it. 10/10
Your review of the Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus was the deciding factor Hubby used to surprise me with the machine! Having watched your video explaining how important you found it to be to place the stirring paddles in the same direction, helped us from the get-go. Last evening was our first beginners recipe for white bread. It turned out perfect....perfect crumb, perfect desired medium darkness, perfect level top, and perfect flavor. Thank you so much for such a great review. I'll think of you every time we eat delicious bread!
Bought my Zojirushi after this tutorial and LOVE this bread maker. Bread tastes SO good, the texture and color is beautiful, worth every penny AND so easy to use. No head scratching trying to figure out the recipes. I recommend buying this headache free Zojirushi bread machine.💗
I've just came across your video on this bread machine, that I've just ordered. I'll be honest, the price stopped me, but after going through so many cheaper ones, I said enough. Thank you Sir, so very much, for all the information, you provided, in your video. I'm so excited, I can hardly wait for mine to be delivered. Thank you🙏. Carol
Thanks for walking us through the Zojiruchi bread maker! We just ordered one today (it was incredibly hard to find one - so many stores had no inventory - even the manufacturer's site was sold out!). You were thorough and informative! I watched the Zojiruchi video earlier and wanted to point out 3 things: the measuring spoon has lines for 1/2 tsp and 1/2 TB; put the salt in a corner of the bread maker - don't sprinkle it around because it will prematurely activate the yeast; the reason the machine was so hot on top is because there's a heating element in the lid to create more even baking. Yeah, I wish I could have had a slice of your bread...truly!
I have an older Zojirushi that I just replaced with this model after 7 years of almost daily use. I really enjoyed your video since I could see the new features while I’m waiting for my new machine to arrive. A couple of tips: Instant yeast is rapid or quick rise yeast. I noticed you selected the regular course instead of the quick rise one when you said you were using instant yeast. Using quick or instant yeast with the regular course will affect the shape of your loaf and how well the bread rises. I’ve also found that at least for me I need to add a couple extra tablespoons of liquid than what the recipe from the book calls for. That also affects the shape of the loaf. You can also use a little extra gluten and a dough conditioner, both of which help in shaping beautiful loaves. Hope these to-s help!
See: ruclips.net/video/RPkzXuZsC2g/видео.html Been doing great with that same yeast, regular settings, and using exactly the amount they recommend of each ingredient without any adjustments.
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 it makes the entire loaf from mixing to baking in the same pan. With a house full of hungry teenagers and their friends, sliced bread paired with homemade soups, stews, chowders can feed a lot of people. Add pizza, lasagna, spaghetti, all get eaten up in a blink of an eye. I also mill my own wheat into flour, make my own pasta noodles. Another bread tip, adding 1-1/2 tsp malt powder per loaf keeps bread fresh longer. Bread won’t dry out or mold nearly as quickly. My family won’t eat store bought breads or pasta, any longer, says they tastes like dried cardboard. You really will save a lot of money this way, and it tastes so much better than processed food.
Best review of any product I've seen in a long time. Very informative and easy to listen to. Very organized. Gave me a lot of information on deciding on which bread machine to purchase. Thank you for taking the time to make this video!!

thank you for this excellent review. Now I wished I had asked my son for the plus. I got the supreme. from my understanding the baking element and a few settings are different. Please! More bread recipes and goodies from the Zo. I just got one after a 3 month wait and it's a lot different from my regular bread machine. So many courses. Love your reviews! Keep 'em coming.
God bless you first of all and thanks for the explanations and details of how to use it, one of the best videos of the use that is so traumatic many times the use of digital buttons and not everyone has that ability to teach as you do, thanks.
Love the video. I have been watching a few bec I am going to purchase the same machine. And one of the things I seen is that if you make sure your paddle are going in the same direction before you add all your ingredients then at the end your bread won’t fall on one side. It’s worth a try. I can’t wait to get mine. I love how you explained everything. Awesome
I just started using the same machine. I like many things about it, but I made cheese bread and found the same thing with the grated cheddar all settling in the bottom of the loaf. Next time will remove the dough and work it in by hand. Other than that I am pleased with the machine. Multigrain is super. Thanks for the video, enjoyed it and learned lots.
Great video! I already had this in my cart on Amazon and found your video, so now I've removed it from my cart and am going to use your affiliate link to get it! I'm so excited! I have a 20 plus year old Oster that is still going strong. But I really wanted a second machine and one that was higher end and could do more. You sold me! Thanks! I always add my 'mix-ins' from the beginning to ensure everything is well blended. It works great... not sure why they want you to add them later. Thanks!
@@WaveOvenRecipes BTW, make sure that you start with the paddles pointed in the same direction... it keeps you from getting slope-sided loaves of bread... just sayin.
Hey again Darnell. I didn't realize that you have videos for your pellet grill too. Nice. So to update you on my search for a Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus, I found one earlier today. It was on CraigsList local here. The unit had not been used, but had a couple of small indents in the housing, not really noticeable. The woman selling it said that it was new in perfect condition and we settled on a price of $180, she was asking $200. Then when I got there and saw the blems, I got it for $130. I was a bit nervous knowing that I was taking a chance and had to drive 60 mi to get it. But I just ran it for a cycle, no ingredients and it ran perfectly. Just what I was looking for a blemish without the retail price tag and tax. Well, I don't have yeast now with the market baking shelves cleaned out, but I've got some ordered and should be here next week. In the meantime, there is a family her that bakes sourdough bread and has offered to give me a yeast starter that I can continue to nurture and use in the interim. Hey stay well. I'll try to get back and let you know how things turned out. Cheers, gary m
I've been looking at this machine and your video was very helpful. Thank you. My current one is getting wore out. (Different Brand) Since you did this a few years ago I was wondering if you are still using it and how it is holding up? Thank you for a great video and the information.
I just bought this machine and can't wait to get started. Thanks for the video. You mentioned that with "add-ins" that you could take the dough out and knead by hand to they don't all fall to the bottom. Did I understand you correct that this can be done with this machine???
my paddles face same direction and my bread will always come out higher on one end if I don’t reposition the dough ball in the center after kneading cycle.
Looks good. I have the same machine. Would you consider sharing the recipe you have used in the past for your home-made bread. I also reshape the dough by hand in the machine to make a perfect loaf. Also the manual says to make sure the padels are pointed the same direction.
My old bread machine had its own recipes, and I doubt they are applicable to this bread machine. But they provided their own for that bread machine. And the process for adding ingredients was totally different. So much, that I doubt you'd want to do it with the Zojirushi. But if you're interested in that old bread machine, I did a review on it here and their recipe book is on their website. ruclips.net/video/46eSJQwPzck/видео.html The Zojirushi recipe book is better by far.
Thank you for another great review. I have a Zojirushi that is at least 20 years old and still going strong. I was taught dough should be as tacky as a Post It Note and feel about the same as your ear lobe. I sometimes have to add a little more flour to get the right consistency. Your might try making sure your paddles are facing the same way before you start. That chocolate bread looks mighty good.
Yes, I've heard Zojirushi's last forever. So, we'll see how long mine last. I'll keep an eye on the paddles. I made some whole wheat bread today, and it turned out better far as shape.
@@WaveOvenRecipes Thanks for the update! I have seen numerous tips on aligning the mixing paddles in the same direction, but of all those who were going to try it, not a single confirmation that did the trick. FWIW - this is the best spoken, clearest and best-organized review of this machine I've seen (of twenty or so). Very impressed. I just bought one, and glad to see this review. Seems much nicer than the Trillium Breadman I'd been using circa twenty years (breadpan stopped functioning, bread impossible to remove - no spare parts). Time will tell.
Here’s a couple things to know to make some nice bread. You can add some powdered non-fat milk. On my wheat bread I use some wheat flour with the white flour. Also the salt controls the yeast rise. If you don’t feel you’re getting a puffy enough loaf, cut back on the salt just a hair. Also, honey will not make bread yeast rise the same as sugar so if you use honey, you have to use both or you don’t get the result you want sometimes it’s like you say it’s your your area experimenting for your humidity elevation all that stuff i’m thinking about going to a euro sheet to prom machine cause I want the bigger lol and I have to have bread all the time because I don’t have a stomach and it helps me to slow things down to get the nutrients out of my food better I ran out the other day and was out of money, and it kind of messed me up.
There is a video showing aligning the paddles. So before you put the ingredients in, face each kneading rod to say six oclock. Then the top will be even. My Zo won’t be here until Sat, but I saw it on a video.
Thank you for your response. I hadn’t watched your 30 day review yet. I also make a lot of raisin bread, or cranberry etc. I hold out a little bit of the flour and mix with the fruit until the individual pieces are dry and don’t stick together. The machine handles them better that way so I don’t have to put them in by hand.
Awesome through review. One thing to note, you can make 1.5 pound loaves in the zojirushi 2lb machines. I actually prefer the 1.5 pound size. ITs a little shorter and closer to the size of a store-bought loaf.
They don't provide the dispenser because there's a heating element in the top... which I prefer over a dispenser. I think the Lithium Ion battery will run the machine for an hour to finish your loaf during a power outage, Slsimilar to the Breville. Thanks for the review, I'm considering upping my game also. does it have a bake only mode? We send has an amazing slicing rack
I made some white bread the other day. It was my first time ever using a bread machine. It tasted great but the slices were huge. I also had a hard time cutting it and have the same bread cutting system you do. What did I do wrong?
ruclips.net/video/Cwhqs3LmEXE/видео.html I don't know. But I do use whole milk powder now, and the bread literally grows to the top of the bread maker. 🙂
It is a full size bread machine. There are some bread machines that make bread vertical instead of horizontal. They use a single paddle, but overall are not as good. They do fit better in tight spaces.
Quick apology, I added the ingredients for the Chocolate Bread in the wrong order. I added them based on the process I had to use for breads in my old bread machine. But this Zojirushi uses a different order for adding ingredients. That may have also impacted the outcome. I would have mentioned this in the video if recognized sooner 🙇🏿♂️
I point them directly at each other an exact opposite direction bread always ends up in the middle... I’m sure it works pointing in the same direction but if you think about it it’s the same thing everything in between is chaos. Also if you do it this way the bread tends to knead better!
You sound like Lambert from the Splinter Cell games, iconic as heck. Keith David level voice. You should legit get into voice acting! I bought the Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus partly based on your video, thanks a bunch for the information. Surprisingly not a lot of info about specific bread maker models on RUclips or in Google searches! It was this or the Supreme model, and I decided paying 25% extra for the best of the best was worthwhile.
I wish I could find one of those bread makers. I ended up buying another brand, lucky to even find one. Everybody is making their own bread since the pandemic. started.
Hi Lynn. I was fortunate to find a Zojirushi, exactly like Darnell's model on Craigslist. See my post above. Don't fret, so many Zojirushi models have sold in the last 6 weeks, that when everyone gets back to work, they will loose patients baking bread and start to dump them on Craigslist, Next-door etc. Keep looking every day, I found mine just an hour after it was posted. I also bought another, a once-used Amazon Basics 2 lb machine 5 days ago, got it home and the Instruction Book/Manual/Recipe Guide was terrible. This Zojirushi Instruction Manual and Recipe Book are excellent. Also the Zojirushi is made in Japan as the Amazon Basics made in China. Zojirushi are said to be the gold standard and suppose to be bullet proof. I heard another person on one of the bread/flour websites say that they have made over 1500 loaves in their Zojirushi before needing to replace the pan and paddles. Good luck baking. gary
Thank you for your thorough review. I am planning to get this machine but wondering if it can make 1lb loaves as well? Also, would the zojirushi mini produce the same quality bread? Thanks!
I would like to know the answer too. If it works equally good for 1 pound bread. Half of the time, I only need to make bread for myself. I could not find this specific info anywhere 😿
Interesting. I didn’t know bread machines existed until I saw your other one in a different video. Looks like the chips didn’t mix up evenly. Maybe it’s best to do that part by hand
Yes nothing mixes in chips or raisins like doing it by hand. Also, make sure the two paddles are pointing in the same direction and the loaf would be perfectly even.
I enjoyed watching your video. Very detailed. I can't wait to move back to the states from Germany so I can buy one and try it out. Did you ever try that chocolate chip recipe again with warmer milk? Did it turn out better than the first time?
I own the zojirushi plus …I’ve used it perhaps a dozen times . At first the loaves were lopsided & now the thermostat doesn’t work . It’s pretty expensive just for kneading the dough .
Hi there, I'm looking to buy a breadmaker. After almost two years of this review, would you sagest to take this one or you found something better ? Thank you very much.
Would you still recommend the Kuissential model? Glad they are sending you a replacement. My 12-year old Breadman started to leak and I couldnt get a new gasket to work and they do not offer replacement pans. :(
Wow, that's messed up they don't offer parts. I would not personally recommend the Kuissential, now that I've started using this Zojirushi. The Zojirushi makes much better bread overall. Kuissential did send a replacement, and sent it faster than I expected. So I highly respect their customer service. If someone wants a low cost bread machine Kuissential is a good choice, but that comes with low cost bread machine results. It's a good starting point, then move to something like a Zojirushi At this point I am glad I got the Zojirushi with a good extended warranty, just in case. But most people say the Zojirushi's never break.
Great detailed video! Looks like you got your Zojirushi right before they went out of stock. I wasn't so lucky. Mine has been back ordered since the beginning of the pandemic, though it is now supposed to be shipping at the end of September. What do you think of the taste of your breads now with the Zojirushi compared to the less expensive bread machines you had before?
Well, it's a bit older video, but for new people, don't forget to align the paddles and it won't be swirly at the end. Best review out there otherwise, thank you very much!
@@WaveOvenRecipes That's it, thanks again :) Did not see that one in my search. Currently there's none available to buy in my country atm, so gotta wait it seems.. Subscribed, good channel!
Thank you for an exceptional tutorial. My grown kids like chocolate chips mixed in when I make Banana Bread, so how I prevent the chips from sinking down to the bottom of the pan, I toss some flour on chips prior to adding chips and it prevents chips from sinking to bottom Thank you for your time sir.

Great job. Nice delivery
Great video. Glad I watched this because this is the one I had my eye on
Very good presentation and demo. It will really help me in my choice.
Please! More bread recipes and goodies from the Zo. I just got one after a 3 month wait and it's a lot different from my regular bread machine. So many courses. Love your reviews! Keep 'em coming.

Awesome video! Thank you for all the great info!
You're welcome. Make sure both paddles are pointing the same direction and the loaf will come out even 👍🏿
Thanks man, just got a brand new one from an auction for $140. Can't wait to start using it.

Awesome
ruclips.net/video/RPkzXuZsC2g/видео.html
that video did not show up lol had I seen that I would have not told you. That’s great. Still can’t wait to get mine.

Thanks! Nice job! I don't want to buy twice, so I'll just get the better one first. I am pretty excited to get this.
What a helpful video. Thanks!
I always add my 'mix-ins' from the beginning to ensure everything is well blended. It works great... not sure why they want you to add them later. Thanks!
It depends, but their way works well for me.

@@WaveOvenRecipes Ah no... it came out totally misshapen...

ruclips.net/video/RPkzXuZsC2g/видео.html
Congratulations🍞👍🏿

Wow. What a lovely review. Thanks for all the timestamps as well. Question, what temperature was your milk before you added it? Just wondering.
I just bought this machine and can't wait to get started. Thanks for the video. You mentioned that with "add-ins" that you could take the dough out and knead by hand to they don't all fall to the bottom. Did I understand you correct that this can be done with this machine???
ruclips.net/video/VJ-i5ZWXXK4/видео.html
your paddles need to be facing the same direction that is why it is slanted great video
See:!ruclips.net/video/RPkzXuZsC2g/видео.html
Sprinkling some flour on the chocolate chips, take off excess, should help to distribute the chips.
my paddles face same direction and my bread will always come out higher on one end if I don’t reposition the dough ball in the center after kneading cycle.
Just got mine last week we bought it from amazon like $ 340 + tax , I can’t wait to try it out.

But if you're interested in that old bread machine, I did a review on it here and their recipe book is on their website.
ruclips.net/video/46eSJQwPzck/видео.html
The Zojirushi recipe book is better by far.
Thank you! I hope you will demonstate your new machine, showing the many features. Hope you will try jam, too.
I did a loaf where I made sure the paddles were aligned 👌🏿
Definitely the key to bread victory 🍞👍🏿
Thank you.
You are very welcome👍 I have to keep mine put up on a high shelf or I would weigh 200lbs🤣

Great review bro 😊 ... now I'll import this for myself here in Pakistan...
This is a great review. Thank you!
ruclips.net/video/RPkzXuZsC2g/видео.html
Here’s a couple things to know to make some nice bread. You can add some powdered non-fat milk. On my wheat bread I use some wheat flour with the white flour. Also the salt controls the yeast rise. If you don’t feel you’re getting a puffy enough loaf, cut back on the salt just a hair. Also, honey will not make bread yeast rise the same as sugar so if you use honey, you have to use both or you don’t get the result you want sometimes it’s like you say it’s your your area experimenting for your humidity elevation all that stuff i’m thinking about going to a euro sheet to prom machine cause I want the bigger lol and I have to have bread all the time because I don’t have a stomach and it helps me to slow things down to get the nutrients out of my food better I ran out the other day and was out of money, and it kind of messed me up.
great review
There is a video showing aligning the paddles. So before you put the ingredients in, face each kneading rod to say six oclock. Then the top will be even. My Zo won’t be here until Sat, but I saw it on a video.
ruclips.net/video/RPkzXuZsC2g/видео.html
Thank you for your response. I hadn’t watched your 30 day review yet. I also make a lot of raisin bread, or cranberry etc. I hold out a little bit of the flour and mix with the fruit until the individual pieces are dry and don’t stick together. The machine handles them better that way so I don’t have to put them in by hand.
Awesome tutorial!!
Awesome through review. One thing to note, you can make 1.5 pound loaves in the zojirushi 2lb machines. I actually prefer the 1.5 pound size. ITs a little shorter and closer to the size of a store-bought loaf.
But why would I make bread at home that mimics _a store_ ? 🤔🤣
@@WaveOvenRecipes Still tastes better :P Depends on your appetite and toaster size i guess :)

I made some white bread the other day. It was my first time ever using a bread machine. It tasted great but the slices were huge. I also had a hard time cutting it and have the same bread cutting system you do. What did I do wrong?
ruclips.net/video/Cwhqs3LmEXE/видео.html
I don't know. But I do use whole milk powder now, and the bread literally grows to the top of the bread maker. 🙂
Is this a compact bread machine? I have a studio apartment and a very small kitchen. Thank you for the awesome video Blessings 30,000 Fold
It is a full size bread machine. There are some bread machines that make bread vertical instead of horizontal. They use a single paddle, but overall are not as good. They do fit better in tight spaces.
Thank You 🙏🏾
Great video brother!
You're welcome 👍🏿
Excellent review, thank you Sir!
You're welcome.
I didn't have the paddles aligned. Both paddles need to point in the same direction for best results.
I point them directly at each other an exact opposite direction bread always ends up in the middle... I’m sure it works pointing in the same direction but if you think about it it’s the same thing everything in between is chaos. Also if you do it this way the bread tends to knead better!
The manual shows same direction and I have had great success doing just that. Same direction for both paddles.

I bought the Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus partly based on your video, thanks a bunch for the information. Surprisingly not a lot of info about specific bread maker models on RUclips or in Google searches! I wish I could find one of those bread makers. I ended up buying another brand, lucky to even find one. Everybody is making their own bread since the pandemic.

And I pray you find some bread machine yeast 🙏🏿👍🏿
Good luck baking. gary
Great video!!! I just bought my zojirushi and I love to get tips from videos.

ruclips.net/video/RPkzXuZsC2g/видео.html
I would like to know the answer too. If it works equally good for 1 pound bread. Half of the time, I only need to make bread for myself. I could not find this specific info anywhere 😿
Only get if you want 2 pound loaves. They have other models for smaller. This model is not for 1 pound.
Wave Oven Recipes thank you! That’s valuable information. Great video! I am binge watching all your videos 👹
Thank you much for watching 👍🏿
I baked a cranberry cake cycle 13 but it baked only halfway in center. How do I set for more baking time to finish the cake?
See the manual.
I heard from someone that they smooth out the dough before the bake cycle begins. This eliminates the uneven rise.
See ruclips.net/video/RPkzXuZsC2g/видео.html
@@WaveOvenRecipes Thank you! Let me say how I enjoyed the videos!
You're welcome 👍🏿
Can you make a 1 lb loaf in this 2 lb machine?
They do not offer any guidance in that regard.

It's a good starting point, then move to something like a Zojirushi
At this point I am glad I got the Zojirushi with a good extended warranty, just in case. But most people say the Zojirushi's never break.
GOT milk? Thank you for the video our Adrmial bread machine died after 30 years of service so now we need to find a replacement
